It's only right for alts, but not for bitcoin. The fact that bitcoin gets no benefit from this draft because it's a legitimate asset because it's considered as a commodity in US and ruled under CTFC. So this draft is only making the altcoin to be seen in the same state as bitcoin(commodity).

On other hand, seeing so many democrats who feel contradicted with this makes me skeptical this will be passed.

Right. Because altcoins are considered as securities by the US government. I remember when former SEC chairman Gary Gensler used to classify altcoins as securities. The Clarity Act might be the ideal solution for altcoin adoption. But I'm having my doubts whenever it will pass and become law.

Like I've stated before, there's too much resistance from Democrats. At least we know, Bitcoin will carry on as usual regardless of what regulatory approach the US government takes. Only if it remains decentralized and censorship-resistant, of course.

Not this year, but the chance will be higher next year, I don't think Clarity Act will go through on 14-15 september vote because it's near midterms and even if there is enough time, the Democratic side wants broader restriction to bar the President and families from issuing or sponsoring digital assets, even the already operating ones. FYI, the odd in prediction market for the Clarity Act to pass is low for 2026 but pretty high for Q3 of 2027 around 70% if I remember correctly.

Crazy how most people think it won’t be passed this year, I mean the majority must have a good sense of this as I feel like anything can happen but usually the majority rules. I think there is still hope to pass in the next few months but it would take a miracle and I would have to agree that most likely this will happen in 2027. It seems the senate focus into other factor so apparently this year there is no chance for the Clarity act to get passed but for sure there are more need for the supporting details, so if ever this will get passed is there is a potential for being cleared how does the actual process and gets regulate some of the establishment now will applied the use of the crypto because now this will considered as a legal so for me still hoping at 2026, but it seems if this happen after halving possible there is a huge market surge might happen.

If the law is passed with the amendments that most crypto companies have agreed to, I think it will be in the best interest of the industry in general because it will create a more open environment. But if some clauses are amended to align with the interests of banks and bankers it will most likely not be positive.

Banks working overtime to ensure stablecoin has no yield and there will be no capital flights and democrat still heavily opposes the bill because of Trump and family. Plans to pass the bill is on track but i really don't understand why the senate is stalling to pass it, but since the majority senate leader has made motion for a vote to start maybe the senate would have a sitting on pass it by late September or mid October, passing the clarity act is very important for the crypto community at large so it's really needed, although the August deadline for it has passed and the odds to pass it reduce but I'm hopeful that they'll a sitting on it next month.

Right now, only two Democrats support the bill, while most of them oppose it. But they are not against the entire bill. Their opposition is mainly focused on a few provisions, particularly those related to ethics and conflicts of interest involving Trump and federal officials.

I'm sure that this Clarity Act will pass the Legislature.. as we know that now more institutions are becoming more involved in the crypto industry, and they do not want to miss the opportunity to be able to pass laws that will regulate the crypto industry.. but it may take some time until the bill actually gets passed, since there are still issues that need to be resolved before the law is passed, and there may be changes to the content and points in the law, and it is unlikely that it can be completed within this year.. but it will surely pass in parliament.

Isn't it very obvious, the bill needs bipartisan support to pass, and so, the Republicans need to make concessions to get a number of Democrats on their side, in order for the bill to pass. Right now it is proving difficult, as the Dems are focused on their hatred for Trump and expressing it through their push for a strong ethics provision. If the bill does not pass this year, then it would become more difficult if the Republicans lose seats in the new congress that will begin on January 3, 2027.

The clarity act will pass certainly it's just taking as it's supposed to, considering the position where the US as at now based on world power, it's only normal that it's taking this long.

The clarity act will cause a little shift in the economy of the US, shifts that some businesses(banks) are not yet ready to accommodate, as for its effect to Bitcoin, I think Bitcoin is only going up from this point, and clarity act won't stop that from happening.

You're right that this benefits banks and exchanges more than users. But greater regulatory clarity, means greater adoption in the long run. This means higher market prices for BTC and alts.

Without big entities supporting the industry (despite the risk of centralization), capital inflows would be minimal (which translates into lower market prices overall). The Clarity Act must pass. Otherwise, other countries will eat the US' cake. We'll see what happens.

The majority of Congress is republicans, so that means if Republicans want to pass it, they can. They could get together, and all of the Republicans could vote yes, and already some of the democrats are saying yes too, which means that they would have the majority and a landslide to pass this.

The only reason why it hasn't passed yet is the discussions; they want to "perfect" it, like make sure it is the best it could be, and for that reason they keep going back and forth and making some changes. Not a bad thing, of course; you wouldn't want something to pass just because you think it is good without looking deeper into it and making some changes that would help. If we were ok with something like that, we would just give prompts to ChatGPT and let it ride our laws. I am not American myself, but I do think that whatever happens in America does impact the whole world, and that is why I think this will pass eventually- maybe not right now, but give it enough time and it will pass.

The chances of the Clarity Act passing before the midterm election are quite small, as some provision still lack bipartisan support.

But saying it would become impossible if Democrats win the midterms is too pessimistic. Because they aren't opposed to the core regulatory framework of the bill. Their main objection are focused on 3 areas: ethics, AML, and stablecoin reward.

So if they win the midterms, they could have more political leverage to push for changes to those provisions rather than trying to kill the entire bill.
