With the way China economy is fast growing and competing with United State of America and other countries, there is this common mentality people have currently with China and I want us to clarify the air, but before that, we all know how China is massively growing when it comes to building their economy and how they have spread out across the world with what they produces in every economic sectors, thereby leading to their increase in GDP.

But I have also heard of some people arguing that China is formed of producing fake items, they can decided to go to any length in making a carbon copy of an original product and sell the counterfeit to people placing demand, sometimes if you buy a product and does not carefully check the maker, you will discovered that they are China products when you ordered for US or Germany brands.

To burst your bubbles also, I heard of some people talking about how China sold fake anti-missiles drones detectors to Iran, and that was one of the reasons why the US could land most of its attacks on Iran without detonating any of these drones. Anyway, this is just by the way, but here is the question.

In short, yes, China makes counterfeit products. But that doesn't mean that all their products are fake. Rather, they have proven how advanced they can make products. China accounted for 45 percent of the global counterfeit goods seized in 2021. Perhaps China and Hong Kong combined were the source of a large portion of the value of the counterfeit goods seized. But don't forget that China also produces high-quality products for large international companies like Apple. Actually, I think the main problem is that since China has a huge manufacturing system, just as good quality products are produced there, there is also an opportunity to produce low-quality and illegal counterfeit products at low prices. So when we go to buy a product from a well-known brand at a low price, we have to verify carefully whether it is genuine.

All countries are making fake products, that is the reason governments have regulators that certified original products made in the country and the ones imported.

But what you are talking about are substandard products. They are not fake but they may have the characteristics of fake products.

Yes everybody should know that China make substandard products. You should expect things that are cheap to be substandard.

China does not have a direct sales into any country, in every country there are government agencies that satisfy every product that comes into that country, so if any product that has been fake enters into your country, that means there has been breach of protocols in your country. In my country Nigeria, there are Chinese companies and there are importers that bring products from China to the country, but for any product to be consumed, we have what we call Standards Organisation of Nigeria(SON), this government agency is saddled with the responsibility of checking every product that comes into the country if it's up to the standard to which the country needs.
So China cannot directly produce fake products and it gets into your country, if it happens, then there is need to check your border security.

Before they conclude that China  produces fake products, come to think of it fake products are not the problem of China for now, but enforcement and demand. China has a lot of original manufacturers that produce goods for major international brands, but because of how strong their manufacturing system is, it will make it easier for others to copy products that have already been existing just to sell at a cheaper rate. Not all made in china is fake some of those goods are made by some people so, the real question here is to ask here, is that, Who are those people that do manufacture these goods, and if the product is real or the original?

That's not true about China. I agree China have the worst quality of products, they also have the best quality product. China don't produce fake items without producing the original ones. Ask them for the original ones and you will get it.

imo, it would be wrong to generalize China as a fake products manufacturer. However, there is no denying that they plays a major role in counterfeit trade.

Another important distinction is Made in China and counterfeit are not the same thing. China is one of the world’s largest legitimate manufacturing hub. The same manufacturing ecosystem, supply chain, cheap components and huge production capacity make it easy for criminal manufacturer to manufacture fake good as well as legitimate product. Even Chinese authority themselve are conducting a major campaign against counterfeiting.

Last year Chinese prosecutors prosecuted 18,376 people for substandard good.

So I would say that China’s counterfeiting problem is true. But the conclusion that Chinese product = fake is too simplistic. Similarly, a military system cannot be called counterfeit just because it performs poorly on battlefield.

China is fond of producing too many goods China produces goods for testing sake and even education purposes but those goods find it's way into the market especially for exportation.
I think China has made so many authentic goods and lots of countries are enjoying those goods but there are countries that let substandard goods into there market for gains and those countries are encouraging the production and exportation of those substandard goods.
