In short, yes, China makes counterfeit products. But that doesn't mean that all their products are fake. Rather, they have proven how advanced they can make products. China accounted for 45 percent of the global counterfeit goods seized in 2021. Perhaps China and Hong Kong combined were the source of a large portion of the value of the counterfeit goods seized. But don't forget that China also produces high-quality products for large international companies like Apple. Actually, I think the main problem is that since China has a huge manufacturing system, just as good quality products are produced there, there is also an opportunity to produce low-quality and illegal counterfeit products at low prices. So when we go to buy a product from a well-known brand at a low price, we have to verify carefully whether it is genuine.

China does not have a direct sales into any country, in every country there are government agencies that satisfy every product that comes into that country, so if any product that has been fake enters into your country, that means there has been breach of protocols in your country. In my country Nigeria, there are Chinese companies and there are importers that bring products from China to the country, but for any product to be consumed, we have what we call Standards Organisation of Nigeria(SON), this government agency is saddled with the responsibility of checking every product that comes into the country if it's up to the standard to which the country needs.
So China cannot directly produce fake products and it gets into your country, if it happens, then there is need to check your border security.

China has a lot of original manufacturers that produce goods for major international brands, but because of how strong their manufacturing system is, it will make it easier for others to copy products that have already been existing just to sell at a cheaper rate. Not all made in china is fake some of those goods are made by some people so, the real question here is to ask here, is that, Who are those people that do manufacture these goods, and if the product is real or the original?

That's not true about China. I agree China have the worst quality of products, they also have the best quality product. China don't produce fake items without producing the original ones. Ask them for the original ones and you will get it.

imo, it would be wrong to generalize China as a fake products manufacturer. However, there is no denying that they plays a major role in counterfeit trade.

Another important distinction is Made in China and counterfeit are not the same thing. China is one of the world’s largest legitimate manufacturing hub. The same manufacturing ecosystem, supply chain, cheap components and huge production capacity make it easy for criminal manufacturer to manufacture fake good as well as legitimate product. Even Chinese authority themselve are conducting a major campaign against counterfeiting.

Last year Chinese prosecutors prosecuted 18,376 people for substandard good.

So I would say that China’s counterfeiting problem is true. But the conclusion that Chinese product = fake is too simplistic. Similarly, a military system cannot be called counterfeit just because it performs poorly on battlefield.

Counterfeit products and direct knockoffs exist in China, particularly from low-end manufacturers.  But it is nothing specific to China, since it exists in some other countries as well.  Did you know when you order some American or German branded product, it is manufactured by a factory in China too?  This is simply because China has largest manufacturing infrastructure in the world.

China produces everything ranging from ridiculously low-quality junk to high quality and state-of-the-art technologies.  The level of quality all boils down to what the buyer is willing to pay.

There are people who makes direct importation from China and most of those products are substandard. If those inferior products that are for testing purposes were actually smuggled out of China, why then do those products written that they were made in China?

Let's not only focus on China, because no country is exempted when it comes to producing fake products. And most of the fake products with made in China writen on them were not actually made from China. Let me use Nigeria to cite example, there is a place in Nigeria called Aba, a city in Abia state. In this place different types of products are manufactured and after producing them some people usually write made in China on those products, while they were never made in China, rather it was made in Aba, Aba made products.

Your are correct, in Nigeria we have agency like Standard Organization Of Nigeria (SON) who is responsible to checkmate every product that comes into the country to confirm if they meet the required standards but as you know corruption has eaten dip into the people they now allow people to go to China to import sub-standard products just to sell them cheaper to make more profit.

China actually has good products it is the people who go there to give them the quality they should produce for them so that they will shop it in and sell it off so that if it doesn't last people will be eager to buy more. If the agencies are working every substandard product will not be allowed to enter the country.

It has been a thought a lot of people have for the Chinese products because the quality is always weak compare to the products of most other countries, although I'm not calling them poor quality products country because I don't no if they intentionally wanted to manufacture fake products or they were ask by the suppliers because one of this could be the truth but however Chinese have ruined themselves on there products especially on the smartphones area because there was some smartphones they were selling before in my country, it was cheap but when you purchase it you will start fixing problem on the phone after six months because of how low quality it is.

I don’t know but this issue of fake  products has almost become a household narrative In my country in the sense that instead of people to say this is a fake product, they will rather say this is a Chinese product and whenever you hear someone saying this is a Chinese product the first thing that comes to mind is that the product is fake. Sometimes they almost use it to describe even humans, when they say you’re a Chinese product it means you’re a fake. But that’s nothing serious though. Yes, I agree China just like every other country or company manufactures some products that have inferior qualities when compared to the original ones, before you know something is fake it means there’s an original right, so for me I think even though they produce substantial or inferior products, it doesn’t mean that they don’t produce the original ones. Personally I feel that the need for those substantial products is to also enable the common man afford and have a feel of what people in the higher class are using. Most of this quality products are not easily affordable, they are very costly and so to make things easier for those who couldn’t afford the original, they can go for the ones of substantial quality since they are actually serving the same purpose, but the only difference will be the level of satisfaction each of them can provide, and how long you can keep using the product as majority of the quality products can survive and last longer than the fake ones.

It's pretty simple. China is the world's factory, and it manufacture goods based on what its business partner and customer ask for.

The counterfeit versions of well known brands that are widely sold across developing countries are largely made at the request of customer and business partner. China is simply meeting demand from its customer and business partners, rather than making counterfeit goods on its own and putting them on the market.

The real issue here is market demand. If there were no buyers for these product, manufacturer would have little reason to keep making them. So simply looking at the place of manufacture of a product and concluding that China has a habit of producing counterfeit goods is not fair.

In my opinion, with China's rapid development over the past few decades, especially in technology, they are now the only country that can directly compete with the US. So they are more than capable of producing product that are just as good as, or even better than those from the US, Germany or Japan.

But the thing is, consumers don't all have the same preference and habit. Not everyone cares only about quality or price. Many people care about the brand, design, ecosystem, and even the status that comes with owning a product. These are things that American and German brands have spent decades building, so China still needs time to catch up in these aspects.
