🇧🇪 2026-27 Belgium Pro League Teams
Anderlecht
Antwerp
SK Beveren
Cercle Brugge
Charleroi
Club Brugge
Genk
Gent
Kortrijk
RAAL La Louvière
KV Mechelen
OH Leuven
Sint-Truiden (STVV)
Standard Liège
Union Saint-Gilloise
Westerlo
Zulte Waregem
Lommel SK

Has removing the playoffs this season really made Belgian football fairer, or has it killed the excitement of the league?

18 teams, 34 matches, and no playoffs. There will no longer be a system where points are reshuffled during the final weeks of the season.

Who do you think is the favorite to win the title under this format: Club Brugge, Union SG, Anderlecht, Genk, or someone else?

And the real question: Should the playoff system return, or has Belgium finally found the right format?

The old format was too complicated for me so I'd like them to try this format for now. Also, the old format was sometimes unfair to teams. Union SG won the regular season in 25/26 season but didn't go on to win the league. If you look at the big european leagues, whoever wins the regular season wins the league. There are no second chances .

Of course, that’s how it should be, and on top of that, the teams need to compete accordingly in their matches. The fact that USG finished in first place but still didn’t win the championship shows us, in my opinion, that the league is actually a bit unfair.
