I built an AI trading executor and here’s what I learned connecting AI signals to real trading accounts

I’ve been working on IMALI, an AI-assisted trading platform designed to analyze markets, score trading opportunities, and execute trades through a user’s existing exchange/broker account.

One of the biggest challenges wasn’t generating signals. It was everything that comes after the signal:

• deciding whether a signal is actually strong enough to trade
• position sizing and risk controls
• handling API failures and exchange differences
• tracking open positions
• preventing duplicate or stale trades
• separating the trading engine from custody of user funds

I ultimately went with a non-custodial model. The user keeps their funds at their supported trading platform, while IMALI connects through API credentials and handles the analysis/execution layer.

I’m curious how other developers here approach this.

If you were building an automated trading system today, would you rather build your own execution engine from scratch or connect an AI strategy layer to existing exchanges/brokers?

I’m also interested in feedback on the architecture and risk controls as I continue improving the platform.

Interesting point. I think connecting to established exchange APIs can make sense, especially for a newer system, because execution, authentication and custody are already handled by the exchange. The important part would be strong risk controls—position sizing, stop-losses, API failure handling and making sure the system never has unnecessary withdrawal permissions.
I'm also interested in how others are handling risk when AI signals are connected to live trading accounts.

There is something fishy here as the op may seems to be the same who own this profile as well, maybe after this topic was created yesterday none had interest on what the op said but went ahead to make another account and he comes directly here to support its own post just to get people attention on using their services.

TL;DR
I agree, he's all into the advertisement and low-key exposure of that "AI signal platform assistant" and what he's working for.

I’m also interested in feedback on the architecture and risk controls as I continue improving the platform.
If you want people to test it, you can have it posted in the Services section and ask for developers to review it for you, but it isn't free. You give them a decent reward for providing an honest feedback.
