I was scrolling my phone and stumbled upon some news lamenting the failures of governments.

From my topic, indirect killing. You are not the one pulling the trigger or attacking someone. But your actions has gotten someone killed. Even though it is a crime. But someone has died with whatever action you took. (When I mean actions, I mean the once that can actually cause someone death. Not every action can cause death. Take note). Now let's relate that to the government.

Imagine a road that was meant to be built, it has being damaged for years and the government pays deaf ears to the cry of the people for such bad roads that vehicles get damaged. In return, it has caused accidents of cars that has lead to peoples death. The government didn't directly kill them, but did as a result of negligence to fix the problem that would have prevented accident and death.

I am not saying that death can be totally erased. But you can reduced it to a fraction. Let's continue.

The same negligence can happen to security. Where it turns to insecurity as the government don't put security measures in place to curb the insecurity. You can tell the result of this which is death of the people. Also here, the government didn't kill anyone but failed to prevent deaths of people that is directly not caused by them.

I can keep going on and on. But I'll leave that for you guys, which other aspects has the government neglected that lead to peoples death indirectly?

Still moving forward. There's this phrase we use casually as if it carries little meaning. But in turn has caused death of millions, if not billions. That phrase is "Bad government". Bad government can mean poor policies, delayed project all lead to one consequences and that is death. Corruption is not left out. Ultimately it leads to deaths indirectly.

Prevention of death should be on governments number one list. If it were truly on its list. Project will be completed faster, good policies will be in place. Health care system will be at it's best and so on.

Most importantly, the government cannot prevent every death. No government can do that. What they can do is prevent as much death as possible. We measure government failures as incomplete projects, economic failure, another one is money - how it is mismanaged. While ignoring the major cost which is human life.

Human life is the major cost for government failures. Quote me if I am wrong.

Aside from personal intentions to take lives and natural deaths many killings are caused due to negligence either from individuals, other people or a government, if things are not put in place properly to avoid accidents it can cause lose of lives, a life lost cannot be recovered no matter the regrets of the killer as a result of their mistakes.

Coming to how a government indirectly causes the deaths of citizens I don't know about more advanced countries but in underdeveloped countries we see a lot of neglects of infrastructures, a lot of bad roads, hospitals that are not well equiped where health workers are always going on strikes, a lack of social amenities like electricity and clean water, insecurities. These things are indirectly causing deaths of innocent citizens while the government would be busy stealing from their economy while infrastructures are breaking down and things are getting out of hand. Lives that could be saved if everything is working as it should are lost due to negligence of government to make sure that everything is working well. The best thing to do is vote a bad government out of power but unfortunately these people are master election rigging specialists, they and their fellow corrupt politicians will continue to recycle themselves in power.

When they neglect their duties and chase their pockets, indirect killings start. Imagine when you tasked with securing the nation but you choose to be allies with those killing your people just because you want to be more powerful. The government has lost the trust of the citizens but keep them in check by making promises they know won't be kept all because they can't be relied upon.
Respect and love isn't bought but earned and even though the heart of man is wicked, I doubt that if a government does what needs to be done, there'd be thieves and robbers who not only take properties but our confidence as well
When a nation can't protect it's own, they become vulnerable to any form of attacks.

Human life is the major cost for government failures. Quote me if I am wrong.
If the government creates massive unemployment, with no paying job, and high inflation, most people will be pushed to become the shadow of themselves, an increase in unemployment gives room for more crimes to be committed, all to meet life demands. Governments are the 99% of the problem, they are tied to every decision, good or bad, the economy will move in the same direction.

Many deaths are caused by poor health facilities in government hospitals, if we can fix our government, we won't be losing souls to death, all because of one man's selfish interest.

When a government refuses to fix a bad road and people keep dying on it, they are not innocent. They may not be holding the gun but they are not making necessary steps to stop the bullet either. We always talk about corruption in terms of money, but the real price is lives. Every abandoned project, every failing hospital, every security gap costs someone their life. Bad government isn't just about stealing public funds but also letting people die when they could have saved them.

And the worst part is they know it's happening. They get reports, they see the news, they hear the cries. But they delay, they make stupid excuses, they blame the previous administrations and by the time they act more lives have been lost

Everything on government right? What about earthquake, land slide, volcanic eruption, erotion, climate changes and war. There are many way things that can happen and leads to death without involving the government. Death is inevitable and no matter what happens people must still die, all this I have mentioned can still happen and death will take place even if government has build road and provide all the necessary things. A newly constructed road can be causing a fatal accident and people die frequently. What I want to tell you is that with or without government intervention on things that matters death will still happen. Sometimes when we see things we can do to help ourselves let's just do it and stop waiting for government, Because most government don't care and if you wait for them to help or do everything for you, you might lose a belove one.  I remember when we had bad roads and government paid deaf ears to it, we find way to patch it to manageable standard and it helps us against accident that will have occurred till government finally did it. So all I am saying is that do what will help you if you can, when government does not look into it. Because neglecting what is important may lead to lost of life of your dear person tomorrow.

Social amenities is the duty of the government to provide to the people but they are very good at neglecting what they should do for the people. Sometimes I wonder if those in government offices don't have relatives or loved ones who are not rich as they are or does it mean they only care about themselves while every other person around them suffers. It is really worrisome that after the citizens payed their taxes, they expect to see the dividends of the taxes they paid but what the government know is to abandon road projects, public school buildings and even the hospitals are left in dilapidated state without facilities to enhance the well-being of health workers and patients. Of course a failed government is killing her citizens indirectly because every negative decision will one way or the other cause harm to the common ones in the society.

Completely agree with this mindset, as it is the clear difference between minding your own business and being unaware of your surroundings. It is also true that we do not need to interfere in someone's matter we should not take sides, and we should also not compare our lives with other everyone has different circumstances.

But we should be observant and observe what is going on around us it helps us to understand people, and also it help us to learn from both their mistakes and their successes. If we see a conflict at a work we should remain neutral but pay attention to whatever has caused it. Also learn that how a particular situation is being handled. So that if similar situation happens to you in the future, you will be wise enough to handle it.

Being observant is good, but make sure to be observant without judging, becoming jealous or without gossiping about it.

Generally, governments are formed to provide various facilities to the people. They take various steps to reduce the suffering of the people. They think about how the country can move forward. But the responsibilities of the government do not end with just fulfilling these few responsibilities. They are not considered a successful government just by fulfilling these few responsibilities. If a government does not repair a bridge or road even though it is broken, and if a life is lost, then who is responsible for it? Of course, that government. Just performing the duties of showing off will not be fruitful. Many governments create many institutions to serve the people, but those institutions remain only in name. The people do not get much benefit from them, rather in some cases they even lose their lives. There are all kinds of public welfare institutions including road transport, hospitals, but if there is no value for human life, then there is no benefit from those things. Governments that do not know how to value human life will not be able to bring about real development of the people.
