Has removing the points split in the Austrian Bundesliga really made the league fairer?
12 teams, 22 matches in the regular season, followed by championship and qualification groups. However, this season, the points earned during the regular season will no longer be halved.

The bigger question: Should the league continue to split into two groups, or would a traditional format where all 12 teams compete in a single league table throughout the season be fairer?
The leagues with a simple format like 12 teams competing against each other for 33 matches during a regular season has proven itself as bringing more quality compared to a league where they divide points or change groups like relegation group and championship group. In fact we are seeing a lack of quality in European competitions from Austrian teams like Salzburg barely won 1-0 in 93th minute while Sturm Graz looks like it is not going much further in Champions League either.
