It is truly hard for me, to imagine someone being willing to wager such a large amount of money; to purchase a slot game feature (bonus buy). Someone who can genuinely bet for this amount might be silent but if it's with these known people that shows they're betting this size, I don't think it's even their personal money.

I don't think such bets and bonuses are played out often. However, it's more than likely that there is a market for such games. So, I don't think this is just a marketing ploy. Most people on the planet don't earn enough money to place such bets, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I don't know anyone that rich, but the world is full of wealthy gambling addicts. And they play roulette, slots, poker, and all sorts of other games. It's part of the culture of luxury.

As others have said, we have to be careful when projecting our own real world experiences on to how others operate. There are big whale gamblers out there who are the ultimate VIP's that casinos want to snag and have playing, so they need to be able to let them play at these high levels if one stumbles through the door. It's hard to us to fathom, but it was just recently that the first trillionaire in the world was made - however short lived that may have been. To billionaires, which is a small but growing class of people, a $100k bet is just like a few cents in your pocket - insignificant. Personally, no. But I know several streamers who bet similar sizes on a regular basis. Drake recently streamed for Stake's 9th birthday, and the bonus buys were of similar size. Then there are Trainwreckstv and Roshtein, although the latter might be a paid streamer playing with fill balance.

Some people bet $500k on random tennis games, so there's a big market and certainly many people who can afford such big bonus buys. A crazy billionaire who's addicted to gambling would probably try it considering they may not purely lost the whole $100k in just one spin.
