Hello,
Since I read every couple weeks members mentioning signature ban, then can I suggest a temporary ban or let's call it a pause for few weeks or months of every signature campaign in bitcointalk?
What's the purpose? It gives the staff an idea about what could happen once signature campaigns activity stop. It might have a positive impact, it might force spammers to leave once they lost their salary, who knows!

Can I ask also gently for a tempban for let's say 2 weeks for all managers during that. I want to see how many famous persons will disappear during this ban period to avoid ban evasion. It is just a curiosity and you can neglect that itchy proposition of course. Don't take that personally lovely managers, you are doing a great job for most of you.
Regards.

Edit: before jumping to the last post or the post of one known user then reply, try to take a look on the other posts and reply. Thank you for your time..
By the way, I am not angry, I just have a point.

Could you explain a bit more on this.
What will do an 2 week ban with ban evasion?

Ban evasion:
Not allowed to create a new account after permanently banned. New account is also to be perma banned.

I understand where you're coming from mate, because you were given sigban till next year is the reason why you came up with this idea which is not healthy for the forum members on signature campaign. Let's be honest, assuming your account wasn't sig banned would you have come up with this suggestion.

Companies are here to promote their brands and you want their promo to stop just like that for no reason or just because some set of forum members were given sigban in order for them to improve themselves on areas that are needed. You are biased on your suggestion.

You have to give a good reason for signature to be banned on this forum, but you did not give any good reason. I do not think this kind of topic should be allowed to exist at all on the forum.

The right thing has been done and everyone has accepted if they like or no like, that there should be sigban for many accounts and which is ongoing.

It seems you have gotten a signature ban that will lift in January. So you got the ban for some reason definitely, but you may appeal, however. That means a user gets a ban for some reason; no one gets banned without a valid reason.

If you found managers abusing something like AI posts or so on, then you may raise concern and request a ban as well. So forum moderators or concerned persons will take a look at whether the managers should get banned or not. The forum or anyone won’t ban anyone on average, anyway.

I have suggested this idea before somewhere (can't find post where I expected it to be so now you are without link) — do it and observe what changes happen to the forum during that time and from that proceed towards long term changes. But, then again, if it's already known that it's short term change, I don't think it gonna make much difference, since people may continue to behave normal during the phase.

Anyhow, it's obvious what's gonna happen if signatures were to be permanently banned.

it's vapourminer and JayJuanGee that have the right to make this suggestion.

okay, you also have the right because you do not also wear signature, although yours wasn't your decision.

...I do not think this kind of topic should be allowed to exist at all on the forum.

I did not even know that he has a sigban. Some people like things that happen to them to happen to other people. Probably that is what is happening to snipie. If he has no sigban, he will not post this kind of topic.

Is there anything bad that I posted? I did not even know that he is sigbanned already. If you like, you can try and support him more.

Maybe if you had started this topic before you were sig banned it would have made more sense. But right now you have nothing to lose, my guess is that you started this thread because you are frustrated by your sig ban since you can't just milk the forum yet, therefore you want others to have a taste of your current condition. Sorry its not gonna happen, request denied!

It gives the staff an idea about what could happen once signature campaigns activity stop. It might have a positive impact, it might force spammers to leave once they lost their salary, who knows!
Staff can estimate now itself on what would happen hence no need of real time trail on this.

I read somewhere that theymos so far rejected all proposals to ban signature campaigns.

Two weeks won’t change anything.. every users in existing campaigns will stay active so they can retain their positions after two weeks.

Posting may reduce within those two weeks but after the two weeks everything will be back as it used to be.

If you really want to test anything, then put 2 years ban on everything related to earning .. Campaigns will move, posting will greatly reduce, Managers will leave to focus on other things, Some boards will turn to graveyard. Yet, some users and  users who aren’t really here to earn will still keep the forum alive

When it’s over, some  campaigns[including new ones] may comeback but it will never be the same again.. users will start waking up again as expected

So far the sigban  is doing its work.. as users that don’t want to end up on that list are putting more and more effort on their post contents. But as expected, it can’t be completely fair.

I don’t want to type further because  I believe you know the right thing to do if you’re affected by the new feature ..

So careful of what you wish for..

That's really too harsh because it's going to affect the campaign managers who are bringing these companies to promote their brands here and earn something from it. The forum will be left with the true lovers of the forum and die hards forum members who are posting for fun.

However, two weeks wouldn't change anything because some forum members do stay for more than two weeks to get a new signature campaign if the one they were participating was paused or they were removed by the CM.

If two years sigban on all forum members and CM, CM will move their campaigns to Altcoinstalks forum.

The reason for this initiative is not to force people to leave the forum but to improve the quality of engagement here so that even business will find value for paying members to promote their brand. Suggesting a pause in signature campaign for a period of time will not improve the quality of engagement rather, implementing policies such as Nutildah is already going will help a lot.

Since this sigban started, I have seen some affected members accept the decision in good fate and are making genuine effort to improve their post quality, this means that we are already making progress.

So you got the signature ban and now you are suggesting that everyone should experience the same for a minimum 2 weeks  Cheesy

Have you heard of a story of Ali Baba and 40 thieves, where the theives put a X on the door where they think ali baba is residing and thinking next night they will come and easily trace the home but to their surprises, a girl put similiar sign on every door and when thevie cames, they unable to recongize the home where they want to attack.

Don't think the same way, that you are sigban and now you want everyone to be sigban and then all are similar  Wink

We don't have true lovers of the forum, rather we have true lovers of Bitcoin. With or without the forum's existing, these like minds will come together to get discussion done.

A 2 years signature ban on most forum member will cause drop in traffic thereby leading to abstinence of the forum from signature campaigns companies.

You need to understand that signature campaigns are not only an incentive for spammers; they also reward members who consistently contribute useful content to the forum.
The only reason why you are given this kind of idea or suggestion is because you have already been given signature ban, and instead of you to focus on contributing very well to the forum so that you can increase your post quality, you are here posting things that won’t be helpful to the forum.
Ok let say the forum wants to agree with your suggestion, what good will it bring to the forum if your suggestion is implemented, please I want to hear from you?

Maybe I'm the only one that found this post very funny but to think of it, if signature campaign is banned for 2 weeks it won't have much negative impact in the forum. Of course, spammers will run away because nobody will be making posts only to meet up with signature campaign post count.

Signature campaign rewards is just a privilege for advertising a site, and not an entitlement. Perhaps, there are people who have never joined a signature campaign but they're still actively making posts and following forum's activity almost everyday (e.g vapourminer and JayJuanGee).

If signature campaign is banned, a lot of people will leave but the forum will exist and there will still be those who will stay and continue with discussions in the forum.

Note: signature campaigns do not generate any revenue to the forum's management because they're not taxed for advertising their signature codes and avarta on Bitcointalk, i may be wrong.

So you resorted to trolling now?

I saw your post history when you complained on the appeal thread and, no offense, but I honestly think you were one of the good hits for the signature ban.

I attacked several times those trolling in bitcointalk and I refuse to be called troll.
I accept your remark, it is your point of view and I explained what I think. I didn't beg for anything to be lifted or reduced. It is something that happened in my situation and I am helping the mods to detect some people that have low scores and poor post quality. I have nothing to hide and you can verify my claim. I don't have a lot of time to do more right now.

Other members linked my post to what happened recently. Maybe, maybe not. I mentioned the conflict of interests (not in the post) so I was honest with that. I didn't vote first. If you look to the posts before this topic, you will find the one who brought the subject again in the first place. He is a member of a signature campaign tho. And first of all, theymos mentioned once that he is thinking of banning signature campaigns once for all. I don't recall when that happened, I am quite old here. I just adjusted the proposition to limit the damage and maybe making a discovery?

I did not even know that he has a sigban. Some people like things that happen to them to happen to other people. Probably that is what is happening to snipie. If he has no sigban, he will not post this kind of topic.
I wasn’t aware before reading the whole thread about his own signature ban. After reading his thread, I thought, why should someone be so angry about all the campaign managers? Also, if he hasn't been wearing any signature as well, then I suspect that probably his account got a signature ban. So I visited his profile and realized about the ban and found the reason why he created this thread.
