Prying eyes are everywhere, if we have witnessed how one campaign here on Bitcointalk got wallet and funds marked to be tainted..I would say changing address regularly should be preached more,we don't know who is watching!!

But again familiarisation of a regular Addy means you can't send out coins to the wrong address because you are likely to recall first 4 or last 4 characters..which shows not changing has it's advantages.

Because nowadays the manner at which people are getting fished or hacked is becoming increasingly alarming

Phishing attacks are usually spread randomly and en masse (emails, ads, articels, ect) and it doesn't matter whether you have multiple addresses or how you set your privacy. When you are impulsively driven to write your key backups containing btc into their trap page, your btc will be wiped out.

This is an eye opener, but we can't also throw away the possibility of a targeted attack because we can't see everyone shots in the dark hoping for something to get hit.

Yea they basically suggest you to avoid reusing the same address (for me it was always easier to get a new one than copy an old one) but doing it out of being afraid of prying eyes.... it's a waste of money, time...

Never say never especially if you always have bad and dangerous activities on your devices and in the Internet (online).

The best way to prevent hacks is knowing about security, maintain your good practice for security offline and online, then make sure you do things properly for your privacy so that you won't become targets of hackers or people who know you well.

If it is dust attacks, just freeze dust UTXOs, don't touch them but if it is your bitcoins that are considerable in value, you will need to secure them.

Moving your bitcoin from one wallet, one or some addresses to other wallets and addresses is very reasonable action when you need to secure your bitcoin. It can help you to secure your privacy too but there are many rules for maintaining privacy.

I have been thinking about this lately and I want to share it as it becomes a something think about, although I don’t know important or how cool it’s for one to keep changing their wallet address. For instance, if I have some certain amount stored in an electrum wallet address and after 4 years I should be able to move it out to a hardware wallet address.

I want to know, does this improve and enhance our security level for our investment? Because nowadays the manner at which people are getting fished or hacked is becoming increasingly alarming which to me I felt it would be that better to either moved out our assets from wallet A to wallet B just to make sure our investment wouldn’t be a major target for others.

I don’t see anything bad with changing wallet after sometimes if you are afraid of hacks probably because the wallet is in your device that have access to internet and you are afraid of wallet hacks due to phishing attacks especially if you leave your seed phrase in your device which is completely wrong, you are supposed to have your seed phrase saved offline in a secured and safe place that only you will have access to so as to be safe.

However, no matter how many times you change your wallet, if you can’t keep your wallet safe yourself, there is no extra security that you are adding to your Bitcoin. The only thing I think you should do to avoid possible hack is to keep your wallet and your seed phrase out of your device that have internet connection, then you can be checking on your seed phrase from time to time so that you will always be sure it is in that same place and safe in the place you kept it.

For clarity because I want to be sure about the question first, does it mean when the asset is moved from wallet A to B our asset is totally safe because op is actually trying to state the obvious by confirming privacy after a change wallet. Changing wallet address can be considered a good idea as mentioned security, this step doesn’t totally privatize your asset meaning there are other factors to consider also if talking about bitcoin privacy. I doubt if this move has any effect definitely there’s no effect changing wallet, the only problem is failure to keep bitcoin private information personal for example seed phrase. There are many principles for achieving good security and privacy while it's undeniable that security and privacy actually cross each other. Firstly, security is most important because it keeps your wallets and bitcoin safely. Like if you choose a bad hardware wallet like Coldcard, you lost your bitcoin and whatever you tried to do for better privacy was not helpful.

However, if you already chose a good and secure wallet, it's time to learn and think of practicing for better privacy too.

Electrum is easy to get going from download so is popular with the bitcoin community. Changing address every 4 years does not improve and enhance security. Electrum is a HD wallet so instead of using a single address for all of your transactions use different addresses from the same wallet. Moving assets from wallet A to wallet B does not give more security and does not make sense.

Now you just need to ask yourself what is the reason why you are changing wallet in a space of 3 - 4 years time. If you think you wallet seed phrase have been compromised or their are attempt of scam or hack to your wallet then it is a good idea to change to a new wallet but if the wallet is kept and very safe their is no point to change your wallet at all time because it can affect you negatively. Truly agree on what you have said. Since if the wallet or devices already had a security hole, usually they didn't get any warning of it before exploits happen. This is why we need to move fast before the actual exploit happens to us.

To add something on your suggestion given I would like to add this.

If they want to deal with crypto better use separate device for this matter.

Also they must avoid searching for random things while their wallet is in that device maybe they can download a malware or anything that can harm them.

I bet you op didn't think about this, but he was willing to keep moving his bitcoins from one place to another. Mistake can happen and he will still lose his bitcoins while trying to be extremely careful.
