However you might need some checkimg first if that site you need to check is also legit and can use some tools like Google or even AI to inquire if those related bitcoin sites are real and take a look on feedback if theres no harmful or malicious things about those sites.

A double check of urls can't be enough if you don't understand the action are you doing by signing a transaction... this can grant privileges that you don't want to provide for.

Well basically is once you tried to search the platform you are looking for most of the search engine is already given the link to you but once you have seen in social media even in your search engine there is a word "Sponsored" most likely these are run advertisement so most of the time this aint the legit one instead a phishing websites.
Now thats the time you need to feed yourself a knowledge about these websites such as their domains names only and their connection is secured with "https"

When I tried to check what are the possible checking I can use if they are verified I do use with the Bitlist here in the community. Though just a first check layer base on the reviews too.

You can feel this way, but I believe newbies can ask anything because they are trying to increase their knowledge and want to use precautions before having any damage. Recently, due to AI, things are getting worse, and it's never been easy for everyone to have all related stuff. Members like you can give good information and guidelines because it's important to stay safe during a journey into crypto, which has never been easy for everyone.

Always open links by typing them yourself or from bookmarks never click on unknown links. Always check the HTTPS padlock and the exact domain name If you want you can verify the age or other things of the domain using WHOIS or Wayback. I give the most importance to non custodial wallets or platforms. Never share your seed phrase online with anyone under any circumstances.
If you want you can come to the Bitcointalk forum and double check any platform. If you are always careful it is often possible to avoid major danger.

Yes, I always check the domain history, community reputation, and user reviews first. That's pretty much non-negotiable in this space, given how many low-effort clone sites and scam attempts pop up overnight. But try not to rely too much on generic review sites (like Trustpilot). They are notoriously easy to fake with bots and paid fake reviews.

And one more thing: If a site is brand new and there aren't any legitimate reviews out there, just don't be a guinea pig. Ask around here first, throw a post on r/Bitcoin, or drop it in a specialized technical board before you even think about connecting a wallet or handing over data.

First question is if you really need that website. There are very few websites you need to buy, hodl and sell bitcoin. There are many of such sites which claim to offer multiple services that you may not actually need.

Website for what exactly? What to look out for a typical website is different from what you should look out for a swap website. Some can be centralized and some are decentralized, some can be open source, close source and be in between. What you should do is to look out for what you are looking for, some website can look normal but they are dangerous to interact. Some phishing website can look real but they are fake. Like 2 days ago, I reported a website that claimed to be a Wasabi mobile meanwhile there is nothing like Wasabi mobile app. Everything is normal but that's a drainer because there is nothing like Wasabi for mobile.

It's one thing to know some of the recommendations above me and it's another for you to be update and know the apps that are good and the ones that are fake. Some websites are wallet drainer, not directly Bitcoin drainer but evm contracts. So one advice, don't connect your wallet to any website you see. Most websites that involves connecting your wallet either for swap, claim or bridge, they do have open source project on Github, visit them and understand before you do anything with them.

Well, for a newbie, they can't easily verify if the site is safe or not.
For me, as a newbie, I am going to check it first with VirusTotal to make sure the site doesn't contain any malicious code when accessing it and then check the site if it's offering something related to crypto investment or something related to seed; it's better to stop accessing the site.
And the 3rd thing to make sure the site is safe: you can make a thread here on the forum and ask if this site is safe or not. I'm sure everyone here knows more than a newbie.

It depends on why and what you need the website for. If the website holds a download link, then definitely, you will have to be conscious of what you download from it, compared to a website that just shares information, where you only need to verify whether it’s a valid one.

Not exactly beginner friendly, but for me I usually decided to double check on forums or other places I'm active in to see whether a name of a project was mentioned or not. If it's never discussed before (like in this forum for example), I'd be more wary of visiting or downloading any apps from them. Especially if they're closed source.

I think my experience looking for a specific setup for my language learning process can show this. Most of the apps or products I used right now have never been discussed in any popular community, so I have to research further to check whether the code has any major flaw or not. I avoid any closed source projects and stick with open sources one. Running in a closed environment and so on to protect my main PC from being exposed to faulty apps.

HTTPS is necessary but through this we cannot say whether a website is a phishing website or an original one. Most phishing websites nowadays have valid certificates which are basically operated through HTTPS. Everyone should double check every character of the website's domain and whenever an original and useful Bitcoin related link is found it should be bookmarked so that the link can be opened from there later.

Even on a completely clean site you need to make sure you fully understand the transaction and permissions you are signing. A malicious approval can completely drain your wallet's funds. Of course if you can always keep your wallet offline using a hardware wallet will act as an important extra security layer.
