Bitcoin was never going to go straight up in a perfectly clean line. There are always going to be periods where the market gets tested, prices go nowhere and looks static, leverage gets liquidated, and people start wondering whether the whole thing is a losing trap. But don't get discouraged, sometimes the most interesting part of Bitcoin happens when nothing seems to be happening. Therefore, continue accumulating.
I don't go into details because it's not too necessary but the market is the same with time because people in the market don't change. Hence market makers can manipulate the market similarly (not exactly the same) with time and cycles while they are still able to succeed and get profit while the majority of market participants lose money.

In a same market, if it is boring with the majority, it's interesting with the minority for example market makers. Like during a bear market or especially around market bottom, when most participants already tired, panic sold, got losses, market makers can see such times as most perfect ones for their accumulation.

Then they will do some last weak down tests to see how retail investors hold bitcoins, how much they hold, before they actually trigger a market recovery phase as very first step to warm up the market new cycle.

Psychologically people need to read and learn this.
Psychological pitfalls of market cycle.
Roller coaster of emotional investing.

Quite possible that the current trend is shaking out the weak hands. Matter of fact this could be the bottom for bitcoin in this cycle.
Even after all the issues OP listed out, bitcoin is holding remarkably well thus signalling a possible bottom.
If bitcoin keeps holding strong then we might see some relief in it's price potentially a short pump upwards.
Anyway, sooner or later we are going to see it cross $100k again so why not keep buying more bitcoin meanwhile.

Bitcoin has been stuck in roughly the $67,000–$57,500 range in 3 months, I keep seeing people describe it as boring, weak, or even unreliable. I actually think the opposite. When you look at everything Bitcoin has had to deal with over the past months, the fact that it’s still sitting around $64K is impressive.
Who are they, of course short-term traders? You don't necessarily give a crap about their assumptions.

The whole idea of being informed is not letting people tell you what to do, particularly when it has to do with taking on a Dip price. The market has been fine, if we go below $60K perfect, and if we continue going down to $40K, it is so much better for you as an investor planning to accumulate this entire period.

My Question to the veterans here:
Do you think this sideways action is shaking out impatient and overleveraged traders before a possible bullish breakout?
If it does, then those are the weak hands fallen out, real holders will keep accumulating instead of attempting to make short gains.

We’ve been in this situation for quite a while, but maybe it will take a little longer for us to be in this situation. The sideways movement is pretty boring, especially for those still waiting for a moment to buy lower.
I just don’t think the situation will turn bullish anytime soon. But maybe by the end of this month we’ll still be in the same situation.

I would say the market is in a balanced state because buyers and sellers are not trying much. They are in a balanced state right now. I did not know about these BTC ETF inflows. It is possible the ETF shareholders saw this as an accumulation opportunity.

A bullish breakout is a good outcome we can assume from this, but even if it is not in the short term, then in the long term, the market will break out. But I like how you summarized the major factors that could have caused major dumps, but the market did not react at all.

I do agree that this is shaking these impatient people. I am not trading, just holding, but still I don't like this consolidation phase. But I am surprised like you are that even after all this mess, how it has not hit $55k. Maybe this is it.

So far the impatient ones never make it out successfully, the issue with panic is what led them to sell in loss meanwhile bitcoin price has been like this for a very long time which tells a lot about bitcoin circle, continues market event. Definitely the price range remaining in this level for too long clearly we’re in the bearish season though I don’t think anyone can influence bitcoin price movement, describing bitcoin as boring is as a result of ignorance also impatient traders as mentioned don’t know how the price movement works.
If they’re doubting bitcoin bullish market all because the price has stayed in dip range for so long then probably they’ll miss out every opportunity, missing out opportunity doesn’t only mean missing the bullish period but, being partaker of the dip whereby we buy the dip and hold obviously investors without this mindset will miss out.

....
Think about what it survived this year:

  • Escalations around the Strait of Hormuz which caused moves in oil prices that could have economic chain effects.
  • The recent Coldcard hardware wallet security exploits, the trust on Bitcoin security, and the FUD around it.
  • The huge initial ETF outflows.
  • The US job reports, interest rate, and important unfavorable announcements.
  • Michael Sailor breaking his no-sell promise, using Bitcoin as a source of liquidity, casting doubts on how long institutions can hold.
...

All you mentioned in this part was just about a year, right? Which I truly think was a strong reason for the Bitcoin market to crash badly, but it didn't. There were also many past events that had a bad impact on bitcoin marekt, and with the passage of time bitcoin market survived all those situations. e.g; Ukrain-Russia war also impacted the market value of bitcoin when it started. And I still remember, in those days, some people were saying that it would not stand again for almost the next ten years, haha.

But it proved itself a great digital asset with the passage of time. Many have come and gone saying this: Bitcoin is a shit project or a money laundering scheme or many other bullshit things about it. But we really knows it worth and the level of trust this asset has built for itself over time. We just need to focus on over goals and must remeber that there is no need to give attention to such sstupids. HODL!

Before we will see a sustainable rise in price, there will be a major shock to the downside, a way the market uses to liquidate the position of people who are long premature. The market will not just start rising from the current range it is now without those moves that are obviously manipulations. Therefore, I think we have not hit the bottom of this cycle just yet, maybe that will happen in the last quarter of his year.

Who are we talking about here? Who thinks that Bitcoin is boring now only because it is going sideways? Those who think this way are the ones who have zero knowledge about Bitcoin and this market in general, because anyone with ample knowledge would know and understand that this is normal and it happens in every cycle. And besides, I don't understand how some people can actually think that the price of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies will always keep going up, because if the prices are going down, it will still not be entertaining for such people because they don't see it as an opportunity but a threat.

So yes, such times will surely clean the market of traders or investors who have paper hands and aren't patient enough to wait through such periods. If you can't believe the market or stay true to it in such conditions, you don't really deserve to be a part of it when it's at its best, because only those who keep trusting Bitcoin and the market should be the ones who should enjoy the gains and profits when it goes up, because they didn't doubt it when it was down or going sideways.

Currently, the price of Bitcoin is moving within a certain range and in this situation, it is understood that those who are investors are now increasing their investments. Those who are new investors are getting confidence to invest. Institutional investors are also not far behind. ETF investors are also increasing their investments with confidence.

In other times, usually a big fall occurs after a bullish movement, but recently that picture is no longer seen. There is a belief among everyone that even if Bitcoin cannot give returns in the short term, it will have a positive impact in the long term. Since the number of investors in Bitcoin has increased much more than before.

Those who are long-term holders try to buy more as the price decreases. As a result, demand continues to increase. The most notable thing is that various types of negative news are not able to bring any change in the sentiment of investors in the market. A change in everyone's perception of Bitcoin has essentially helped keep its demand stable during this time.

It is not surprising to me at all. People always come up with terms to describe their impatience whenever bitcoin price is bearish. So people who say bitcoin is boring now are indirectly letting us know that they can no longer wait for the bullrun to come, they will sell now at loss than complete the cycle.

Everyone who has carefully studied bitcoin's cycle will know that this is also a phase in the bitcoin cycle and serious investors are taking advantage of it by accumulating bitcoins now. It is a common knowledge that bitcoin is volatile and bitcoin also has the bearish season where the price of bitcoin doesn't look attractive to many.

Weak hands will definitely fall off before the season over. However, I am not convinced that the bearish season is close to being over yet.

My Question to the veterans here:
Do you think this sideways action is shaking out impatient and overleveraged traders before a possible bullish breakout?
Definitely is the answer to your question. The impatient and overleveraging traders will probably miss the bull run. I have been warning them on the trading discussion board so they will not miss the bull run that will come. Nobody know when the bull run will begin but a good investor know that they can continue to gradually buying bitcoin.
A good trader that follows or watch after the market will not miss out during when the bullrun will occur, everyone is watching the market carefully, so i believe that most of the experience traders always looks after the movement the of candle sticks if it's making progress or not...but inexperienced traders maybe the one that will not carefully observe the movement of the market, and possibly during a bullish they might be the one that will likely miss out in bull run..currently price of Bitcoin is fluctuating, and their's every possibility that we may go into bearish..

This is not the first time bitcoin price is going low, for those who don't understand how the price of Bitcoin has been going since it creation, it will be better for you to look at the history growth of Bitcoin, when you check the history growth of Bitcoin you will understand that this is not the first time bitcoin is going low in price and this will not be the last time. It will continue happening as long as bitcoin exist. Bitcoin is just volatile in nature and that is what makes it interesting, deep in Bitcoin is an opportunity for people to accumulate more bitcoin with less price. Anyone who is going to leave bitcoin investment because of this deep in price does not really understand how bitcoin works and need to go through the history of Bitcoin.

From a valuation perspective, Bitcoin may be nearing a level of maturity (price stability) where even global macroeconomic factors contribute only 1–5% of its volatility, a consequence rarely considered by short-term speculators. Yet, this is not necessarily a bad thing; Bitcoin may well be a few steps closer to global scale payment adoption. After all, much like in the gold market, if price fluctuations become too bored, they can simply increase their leverage.
I don't think so, bro, because this is just a consolidation phase. It has been in this phase for at least 7 to 8 weeks now, but it is not the first time. Bitcoin has been in the consolidation phase in 2024 as well.

It stayed for around 5 to 6 months, oscillating in the range of $57k to $71k, but at that time we knew the halving and ETFs were the reasons.

So this tug of war is considered good for the market. It helps MAs catch up, and it also gives traders some time to gather some funds. I am pretty sure at this moment most of us are ready to buy more.

Of course, those who are impatient will leave the market early either incurring losses or making no profits, and those who remain will reap the fruits of their patience after the bullish momentum begins once we are out of the bear phase. Those who lack basic knowledge and understanding of this market will barely ever make anything out of it, because despite investments being pretty simple and not requiring a lot of knowledge, it is not that easy if you don't know anything. This is why we often say that one should at least have basic knowledge before getting financially involved.

Someone who thinks the market is boring only because it's going sideways or because it's not moving up is basically delusional, they don't know anything about investment opportunities, and they need to ask investors how they keep waiting for these times throughout the cycle because they can fill their bags in these times and then make profits when the market recovers. I wonder how such people think people are making money from this market if they don't know the essence of dips and bear markets.

In every bear market, there will always be a shake down, as there are investors that opted to get out and liquidated their holdings because they don't want they are seeing. And I would say that it is going to be the normal in this kind of cycle. Just imagine, from $126k to $65k, that is a almost 50% decline already.

We don't know how long this bear market is, or if we have touch the lowest low or if capitulation had happened already at $57k. So it's not the question whether it's boring as it is trading sideways or sitting around $64k-$65k is impressive. It's how to take advantage of this cycle, if institutions keeps accumulating, why not average joe like the rest of us DCA and look at the bigger picture?

Holding alone can seem boring cause the potential wealth that comes with it is not in the near future but longer so it's not new hearing that people say it's boring, some pick interest but opt out alone the way when what they expected didn't work as plan, dropping half of the all time high us enough for many to liquidate their holdings.

That's when you'l differentiate a real holder from the ones who just wanted using Bitcoin to maximize their profits and liquidate when the bull season comes without holding long enough for that. Institutions are owned by rich folks they maintain their wealth through investment but most individuals are poor and only buy for quick profits instead of seeing it as an opportunity for investment.

Interesting but true. Haters always will hate Bitcoin, never mind whether it’s on a bull trend or a down trend. But more interesting is that even a few investors become boring and afraid when Bitcoin starts dumping or is stable. I saw many questions during the bull run: should they buy or not? But right now since it’s a bear market, they don’t intend to buy and definitely will regret it later.

Ignore haters; if you feel bored, then follow the DCA strategy and accumulate Bitcoin slowly from your extra savings, and that’s what I have been doing now. I don’t care about predictions or haters; time will give a costly answer.
I thought that with the global financial crisis, Bitcoin's price would have dropped to below $50k. The crisis in the Middle East, high price of crude, inflation, tariffs, and so on have made the global economy challenging. There are predictions that as Bitcoin matures, its volatility will reduce. This might be the case because Bitcoin's price is not as unstable as it used to be. Traders would have to adjust to the current realities.

Anyone who thinks that Bitcoin is boring should consider investing in other sectors. Haters cannot stop me from DCA regardless of their criticism.
I believe Bitcoin has become more stable than before and that's why investors mostly retail investors, think it is boring and think DCA strategy is all too slow to meet their profit margin.
Everyone has been in anticipation of a new ATH but I think the launch of ETF made this possibility a bit obscure and also with the kind of policies we see flying over the U.S Senate house just to limit and try to at least gain some control over Bitcoin.

Am still going to DCA anyways even with the coldcard incident and the scare of using hardware wallets. Swing traders Vulcan still make minimal profit from trading Bitcoin but a long term accumulation wins it for me all the way.
