I think that ignorance is one thing that makes such users act that way and secondly is to hype themselves. They just want others to know they have Bitcoin since the currency/asset has also been one of the most dominance digital assets and the inclusion amongst the largest assets by market capitalization.

You nailed it, some of these new guys, especially those who make their money illegally don't really care about the privacy and security of their assets, they feel everything is for show off. I don't think a sane person who made his money from his sweat would care less about the security of such funds, no matter how much he has. The dangers of showing off still boils down to personal safety and that is where it gets dicey, someone in your condition who saw him and peeped to see he had a suitable balance can trail him to his residence and plan an attack shortly to relieve him of his coins. We all need to take privacy concerns more seriously TBH.

Well I think it’s all about carelessness, I don’t really think it’s something associated with something like being arrogant about what is happening in our environment, I don’t really think it’s about making money illegally, making money in an illegal way is quite difficult so I wouldn’t really say it’s about being a criminal, people who are indulged in crime or making money through illegal means, Would tell you that illegally is the most difficult way of making money, I just feel that this younger generations are people who can be very careless and it’s because they want to show themselves because they want to showcase themselves and their possessions and achievements.

The internet exposure has affected many Genz to the extent that the believe showing off is the new style of today, they don't know what real danger looks like until they learn the hardway.

Truth be told, Genz are reckless and careless at the same time, even their parents are looking up to them too, pushing them to go extra mile for money, something I've caught few mothers doing, even fathers.

I'd say let them learn the hardway, that's the only thing that can reset their modular socket, there are few Genz that are actually good though, they don't behave like most Genz do.

At first I don't feel like bringing this experience on here but the whole thing still disturbs my mind, like are there beginners out there who behaves in such manner? In 2026? Since we have many beginners on here then maybe I did this right thing.

Some dudes will intentionally expose Thier wallet to you because they want to show off. It's what an average gen Z can do so I don't find it strange and it's not even about them being a newbie to wallet security and general security to start with.

One thing I always avoid doing is doing any form of crypto related stuff while I'm outside. No matter how careful you are, you don't really know who the next person sitting close to you is. For some persons, all they need is to know that you're holding a certain quantity of crypto. They don't have to know the worth of the crypto and they will attack if they get the chance. Even if the Camara doesn't capture his complete seed phrase, someone can get access to his bio data in the hospital and trace him for the wrong reason.

Back to topic, the young boy is careless, doesn't know what he is doing, life hasn't actually dealt with him, and so he neglect every protective behavior he should've exhibited before importing wallet in public.

Short story of myself, I was a guy who chat on the road with my expensive phone back then, I never thought of street thieves actually exist, so I was just careless about that untill my phone got stolen by thief on the road by gun. Since then, I don't do such and be very careful and vigilant when passing on the road with smart expensive phone.

That young genz boy never tasted hardship from his mistakes, he will learn later when bad things happens to him.

Anyway, what do you expect when they already see you as someone who an old fashion and still doesn't know about cryptocurrency? It's really funny these days because Gen Zs mostly see older people as if they don't know what's happening anymore, while most older people know a lot more than them. Just like you are older than him and have more knowledge of the crypto space than him, but unknowingly to him, you are just a regular old person sitting next to him.

These days, there are many stories on the Internet where Bitcoin enthusiasts don't know how their Bitcoin wallets were emptied, meanwhile, they normally import their seed phrase publicly and even use public WiFi.
Well, the reason why he was relaxed while doing such things was that he had never been a victim before because if he had, he would have known how to import his seed phrase secretly.

I thought it’s only me that noticed it. Some beginners still make this kind of mistake, especially when they haven’t fully  understand how important seed phrase is. Importing seed phrase while the internet is on, and doing it in the public place with CCTV, is a serious risk.

 The boy may have money and an expensive car, but if he doesn’t learn how to secure his wallet, one day his balance can disappear. Sometime appearance can deceive, but knowledge about crypto isn’t suppose to depend on age or how a person looks.

I don't know what that has to do with generations, because I think things like this are also done by many people (of other generations too). It is more about ignorance and indifference towards the security of the assets they own, that they don't realize that importing something as sensitive as that in a public place not only endangers their assets, but also their own lives, as there have been many cases of invasion and being held hostage because they don't care about their security in public places. People like this will usually, sooner or later, learn how valuable their privacy and security are.

Some people are just lucky, no matter how careless they are, they never get scammed or something happens to their wallet. I have seen many of these Gen z that like to show themselves in public trying to let people know that they are very rich and they have some value in their hands and at the end nothing happens to them. Most of these Gen Z are rich kid’s or forex traders. They are the ones who do not care about their assets because they are rich, imagine someone is there who has been targeting him for a long time in order to scam him, the person will be happy because that is the opportunity the person will use to get his seed phrase and steal from him.

Some are not rich from the start they just get lucky from the start but was able to compose themselves that they don't want to go back in the same situation before they get rich, i know some people like this, but the fact that they are bragging or just being careless in public places are really something that should not be done.
They might get lucky today or tomorrow, but sooner or later that luck is the same thing that will put them in a bad situation, people are just observing at first but you don't know what others intensions are so be very careful.

Never underestimate human carelessness. People still write passwords on sticky notes attached to their monitors, so importing seeds in public in 2026 isn't even surprising anymore.

Poeple can be so careless sometimes, and maybe, if they haven't been bitten, they wouldn't know that pain of there actions. Many of them do this ignorantly,  I mean not knowing that such acts can out there assets at great risk of theft. Some are done on negative assumptions, I think the kind of situation the OP sighted. The feeling that this one doesn't have anything to do with crypto or online privacy. It's a very costly mistake that could leave you dry and empty without even noticing it. You know, some poeple are just criminals. They are looking for such opportunities to steal what's not there's. So if such a persons meet a careless person, and gets some time, he would call it an opportunity that can't be left on touched. We just have to be careful and ensure privacy always.

I just had a similar experience with someone that boarded same vehicle with me. Bro sat at the front of the vehicle and for some reason became too comfortable carrying out transaction from the different tiers of his banking app. Everyone from the back could literally see his password and the amount in his wallet and from what I saw, it's not an amount one allows everyone see but he allowed it without caring at all.

Every form of carelessly security wise will eventually result to disaster in a manner and time you least expect. That you're being careless and nothing is happening doesn't mean that if you don't put a stop to it that you won't meet a bad end one day.

I wouldn’t be so sure of him not to have tasted hardship, however I would say he does mistakes being fragile for innocence and to have being elderly or coming from an era that many would consider late to Bitcoin, given your look and how you present, it’s easier to assume such an individual wouldn’t do no harm, most of all, it was in the hospital.

Unfortunately, there are those monitoring the CCTV, if there is an incident, the CCTV can be requested by the authorities for observation and investigation. He didn’t really consider the things that can go wrong and result in certain frames to be examined. When there is a rolling camera, you’ve got to be careful, when other persons are around, you’ve got to exercise a lot of caution and if possible, avoid doing any transaction with your wallet entirely.
