I am completely new here. This is my first post on the forum. I have been reading various things on the forum for hours . But I could not understand where and how to post. My educational background is Computer programming. However, I still have a lot to learn about Bitcoin and its entire ecosystem. My main goal is to get some ideas about investing in Bitcoin. And I will try to learn something from the experiences of those who are knowledgeable .. And since my background is related to computer programming, is there any place or opportunity where I can learn using programming knowledge as a newbie and contribute something useful at the same time, then it would be nice to get advice from experienced members.

Welcome to the forum! I hope you will stay here for a long time and learn a lot, as well as share your knowledge about programming.

I don't know which topics you have looked at and which sections you have visited exactly, but here you can find things that interest you about Bitcoin Bitcoin Discussion and Development & Technical Discussion . But first of all, i would advise you to look at some important information before you start anything, you can find that here Newbies - Read before posting

I would also advise you to check your local board, because there you can very easily get informed about everything. As for the knowledge you have and the programming you do. You can post your services here in Services so people can see them, but as a new profile you will have to show your service more transparently.
You mentioned investing. Yesterday i came across a very interesting and useful post from an older and experienced member of this forum who has been in Bitcoin for many years. I will leave you the link to the post here. Read it, i believe it will make it much clearer to you what and how to do.

Before now, computer programming sounds like prestigious, but with the advent of AI, even a vibe coder claims to be a programmer while the real programmers do not announce themselves quickly.

As a programmer, you can list your services in the service board, show your portfolio and people may hire you and pay for your services. You could decide to give a few free services to gain trust.

Newbie method of introducing themselves I know for sure but, it’s highly unnecessary. Hope you don’t feel uneasy about this but, you are better off reading more and getting familiar with this space before posting than, posting a content that wouldn’t have a lot of substance.

I think I didn't explain it properly. If I couldn't make a simple post, I wouldn't even be able to open a topic. It doesn't matter if it's SMF or Discourse when it comes to posting. I just wanted to know how to start the post transition. I couldn't figure out where and how to start. Though I got some replies, they are helpful. And I understand that if I don't want criticism, I need to spend a little more time and study.

I don't claim to be a great programmer, just my study background was CSE. And I know that now with AI, you can develop a lot of things if you have basic knowledge. But if you don't have a strong foundation, you can't do anything with just AI. Even our university had started a separate class on AI so that developers can use it very easily and quickly create any of their projects in less time. That means now the world is giving more importance to just idea generation. You will set up a structure and then modify it according to your needs with your fundamental knowledge. This saves a lot of time. But for programmers who have been studying well from the beginning and the basics are strong , the use of AI has become much easier for them, . And thank you for giving me some important info.

If you wanted to be on the technical side of Bitcoin or crypto in general then you might want to look at this board, Development & Technical Discussion. But just be careful, as Users who spread false/fake/unhelpful information on technical board.

But for me, if you wanted to broaden your scope here in the community, why not go and explore it first and see what board you wanted to contribute more and also learn new things as you go along?

I'd say your first post is not bad, I've seen far worse. If you encounter skepticism in some responses—as you’ve already experienced—don’t be surprised. There’s a lot of spam and fake users on this forum, and we’re all trying to combat that.

If you have a genuine interest in the forum, I recommend that you ask specific questions. First, read through the information, as others have suggested, then visit the different sections of the forum to familiarize yourself with them, and if you then come across specific questions about how things work or anything else, ask them here.

We are all here to learn from one another, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of this very forum, though there are members who have acquired outstanding knowledge here, and learning from such people will enable you understand more about the nature of this very Bitcoin forum, and also enable you grow as a result of your your contributions.
No knowledge or profession is considered a waste here, and as a computer programmer I believe as time goes on, your knowledge, and career will still be meaningful to this very forum even though this is a Bitcoin forum, acquiring knowledge from other fields is not totally out of place.

The first thing to do, as a newbie on this platform, is to take your time going through the pinned threads. This will help you in so many ways to get used to the forum and also know what is expected of you as a member.

You should also try as much as possible to ensure that you follow the forum rules and regulations, don't plagiarize, adhere to quality posts, and try to learn as much as possible; avoid making a post when you don't have an idea of what is being discussed, ask questions where relevant, and make use of the forum search engine to learn more.

PrivacyG already raised a concern about your educational background and it worth looking into because It's actually strange for someone with a computer programming knowledge to find it difficult to post in the forum.

And since my background is related to computer programming, is there any place or opportunity where I can learn using programming knowledge as a newbie and contribute something useful at the same time, then it would be nice to get advice from experienced members.

You should check Meta board to see existing tools and see if there's any way you can contribute either by building a completely new and relevant tool or suggest how the existing ones can be improved.

Since you have finally made it to the Beginners & Help section, I hope you can easily learn about the topics as per your expectations. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to ask and you will get reasonable answers from many people. You have mentioned your qualification as computer programming but you have not mentioned here whether you are a beginner or a graduate.

To get an idea about Bitcoin, read the threads in Bitcoin Discussion and ask if you have any questions. To learn about Bitcoin investment and participate in the discussion, read the threads in Speculation section. You can learn and contribute to many topics related to your subject by analyzing the threads in Development & Technical Discussion, Bitcoin Technical Support and Project Development among the boards in the forum.
