Since your main goal is to invest in bitcoin then you have to work towards it.Then if you’re looking for where to make comments,I would recommend you read more in this beginners & help board and also visit the Meta board in other to be aware of the rules, because when you don’t know the rules and the how the system is in a forum you might likely violate them and it’s often said that ignorance isn’t an excuse. Then again you said you have knowledge in the tech field, that same energy can go into the tech board but you also have to learn more about the crypto tech field because it’s quite different from the regular tech field.Lastly,I would recommend you to avoid projects that are too good to be true in other to remain interested in the crypto space.
The rules and regulations are top priority to be checked and considered because when the OP choose to be ignorant about it then I guess the forum won’t be a welcoming place for him anymore. But when the rules and regulations are read and understood then he will try to avoid things that might implicate his account and keep bad reputation.

The crypto world is very complex and there are so many challenges in it but with knowledge and experience the OP can manage to avoid many of this challenges or learn to approach them.
And if investing in bitcoin is what he prioritize that much then of course he’s in the right forum that will guide him through this journey but his determination and mindset will be very important too. Welcome to this great forum OP.

I am completely new here. This is my first post on the forum. I have been reading various things on the forum for hours . But I could not understand where and how to post.
Who then taught you how to make this particular post and where to post this as a newbie? If truly you are a newbie as you claim, then the answer should possibly be that you navigated through this forum by yourself and and found your way to the beginners and help board where you made your first post. If you could find this board, then you should know that each board and subboards have descriptions on them which helps you know the kind of discussions that go on there.

It really surprises me when newbies come here claiming they don't understand this forum, but they just made a post and in the right board! If they can do that, in just few weeks, they will know alot about the forum. They are just in a hurry to know everything in just few days.

It’s sometimes difficult to start navigating in the forum for typical newbies that are new to internet and forums like this one, but if you are used to forums and other online platforms, to navigate the forum will not be difficult for you as long as you can read and write.

The OP’s knowledge about computer programming  should have given him/her clue on how to navigate and post in this forum, people with computer programming knowledge should have it easily to work in the forum since they have the good knowledge to share with others here, and they can easily understand Bitcoin and how it works easily. I just hope the OP will go through all the comments in this thread to learn about the forum and also contribute to the forum if possible.

There are many questions that newbies always ask because it sometimes span from how they got into the forum, some people get into here through friends and then they want to rush faster than who has introduced them. If actually he's a programmer, he could possibly find various boards but then, he could have done little more by searching through boards and threads to gather every necessary information available and how to push his service. As he's here, if he will accept to implement every advice contained in the 3 pages already, he will be able to succeed in his bitcoin journey and also build a reputable status in the forum. Most newbies like creating new threads to announce themselves instead of finding their local board to identify and learn from a familiar language and reasoning. I wish him well regardless.

Well, if that's the case, just do what you want to do. The point is, you can back up what you say, not just make a claim. We've had so many people claiming to be "programming experts" when they're really nothing more than someone who knows a little bit about coding and understands how to use AI. People here aren't stupid. If someone finds out you're lying, you might get into big trouble. So try to understand that.

Btw welcome to this forum.

I am completely new here. This is my first post on the forum. I have been reading various things on the forum for hours . But I could not understand where and how to post. My educational background is Computer programming. However, I still have a lot to learn about Bitcoin and its entire ecosystem. My main goal is to get some ideas about investing in Bitcoin. And I will try to learn something from the experiences of those who are knowledgeable .. And since my background is related to computer programming, is there any place or opportunity where I can learn using programming knowledge as a newbie and contribute something useful at the same time, then it would be nice to get advice from experienced members.

thank you everyone
Are you an experienced programmer ? If so, I think you could make a valuable contribution to this forum. There is still plenty you could create, and your ideas could be developed into tools; that greatly assist the users here, much like the contributions made by other developers on this platform.

You are free to create whatever you wish through your coding work. You might have a primary goal; such as a Bitcoin investment concept to integrate into an application, but it is important to be genuine; if you want to avoid appearing as though you are merely copying others, or simply plagiarizing. Unless you have obtained permission, or requested it beforehand, you need to ensure you aren't seen as merely appropriating someone else's work rather than carrying on a legacy.

Welcome to the Bitcoin Forum and remember that the more you practice/reading, the more you learn. You didn't know how to post, so you finally created a new thread. Practice to learn about the Bitcoin ecosystem. Hopefully, your formal education will positively impact this platform.
I will say that you can use your computer programming skills to gain more knowledge only after spending a long time in this forum. I would recommend that you invest in Bitcoin along with learning about the Bitcoin ecosystem. Use your apprenticeship period properly.

I didn't actually mean that I couldn't post. There may be different types of posting on different boards, which I didn't understand at first. I didn't know at first that the rules and regulations for posting on different boards are different, so I posted here. This forum is quite large and people discuss many topics here. In that case, naturally, anyone with common sense will easily understand where to post and ask for help. Where the Beginners & Help board is clearly seen . And here I saw some previous topics where many people are asking for help themselves. That's why I posted here myself and highlighted my personal skills so that experienced users can give me a good idea of where and what type of posts to according to my convenience. I have said this before, so you can see what I really meant.

I could not understand where and how to post. My educational background is Computer programming.
Your educational background is Computer programming and you did not know how to post on a Simple Machines Forum?  I smell fish!
I think I didn't explain it properly. If I couldn't make a simple post, I wouldn't even be able to open a topic. It doesn't matter if it's SMF or Discourse when it comes to posting. I just wanted to know how to start the post transition. I couldn't figure out where and how to start. Though I got some replies, they are helpful. And I understand that if I don't want criticism, I need to spend a little more time and study.

Programming knowledge alone cannot help you become a contributor when it comes to Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies because your technical knowledge about cryptography and blockchain systems needs to be strong for that. If you want to become someone who is good on the technicalities of Bitcoin and other systems then you will need to gain a lot of technical knowledge. You can find a lot of technical posts and information on this forum as well in the technical discussion section.

Learning about the forum in general is not that difficult if you ask me. All you have to do is spend more time exploring all the different sections and reading through different threads. Make sure you observe all the responses from those with higher ranks and good reputation because you will get to learn a lot from that. After spending some time with these practices, you will understand almost everything about the forum. Thank me later.
Learning about skills or programming is always a big achievement, but it's never been easy in all countries or regions because education levels and domestic engagements also work in these things in developing countries. People are not having enough sources to go ahead with these things. Even now, it's having a good way due to developments, but still it's not easy. Having good knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies gives a good chance in many skills, especially programming, but it is also needed to have a good argument with relative teams and people because this way it always brings new developments, and the creativity level also increases. AI is bringing revolutionary changes, but just focusing on this and jumping into the market will never allow anyone to have better results. Still, it needs to work on real projects and people because this always gives more chances of having better results.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first post you really did made a right choice, I would to be honest with you sometime forum feel so overwhelming at first with a lot of threads and reply’s from so many different users, which I still feel with your well good background of computer programming language you kinda have a higher advantage in the learning of bitcoin…from what many users have told you before on where and how to post, my own little advice firstly we have the Beginning and help sections, which is very prefect for your learning process, and secondly you might ask a lot of dump questions but as time goes on it would change totally, and for your Course of study learning from technical discussion might help you a lot too for Bitcoin code, Lightning, nodes, wallets…

And for more ideas for investing in bitcoin we have trading sections which are basically for learning about Bitcoin and DCA, Hodling’s but i think you should not just put so much focus on only investment part, as a newbies it best to gain basic knowledge about bitcoin why decentralization matters, and some good ideas on how self-custody and exchanges work… don't rush to invest why still learning all this process…

There are many questions that newbies always ask because it sometimes span from how they got into the forum, some people get into here through friends and then they want to rush faster than who has introduced them. Anyone who was introduced to Bitcointalk through a friend or anyone close to them should tell the truth. They should let everyone know that a friend showed them this forum and they have less troubles navigating the forum. That's honestty and it feels so real. That usual newbies slogan "I'm new here, I don't no how to use the forum ", is getting boring.

I didn't actually mean that I couldn't post. There may be different types of posting on different boards, which I didn't understand at first. Now that you are beginning to understand the forum, in just few days, you will get use to it. Just make sure that you read and understand the forum rules so that you will not go against the forum rules.

You are welcome to the forum. I think you can start from here. I usually share mk4 compilation for those need to start from somewhere. It has helped me immensely and I hope it does so for you too. Here it is below.

since you have made your first Post, no need to worry because your journey has just begun. Making post here already mean you have made a move. All you just need to do is to be patient while reading the pined thread at the top of every board to know what each board is all about. I know the best place that befits you is the technical board, but you need enough learning to blend with guys around there because your level of computer may be different from what you will see there. Just be patient and most expecialy read more before posting.

With all being said, I like your observation with the hope that he is not leaving soon but stays to learn and share ideals with others in the community.
There had also been numerous of newbies that had shown interest in learning about Bitcoin who also leaves so sudden even after dropping their introductory post and even had declared areas of their interests in the space.

The directions to their local boards does not seem bad too because there in the local boards is where some beginners also finds relaxation to interact.
So of course, newbies can always look out to their local boards if possible but as for those whose origin does not have local boards in the forum, don't feel exempted because you can always do better in the general boards as long you are dedicated to learning new ideals of having to establish a life here in the forum.

All I can say is that you’re welcome to the bitcoin forum community, I don’t really know if you’re new here or someone else alts like people may say, because I see that is what some people are talking about, anyways you’re at the right place to learn about bitcoin, this is a community where bitcoin is discussed, and I assure you that you’re going to learn a lot on this platform, I have seen from previous posts on this thread where links have been dropped, you can discuss bitcoin there and learn so much on how to get started with your bitcoin investment if you haven’t started yet, those threads are magnificent for a beginner.
Talking about programming, there is a specific place where such things are discussed as well, there is a technical board as well, where you can discuss the details of your programming Knowledge, links have been provided as well so satisfy yourself.

I agree, but it depends on each of us and it is a personal choice.
Why do you become part of a community or forum? The answer is obvious, if you feel accepted and if you get certain benefits from that online community or group.
I must admit that my local community was a great help and support to me at the beginning of my forum journey because as a newbie I knew almost nothing about bitcoin and I simply did not feel ready to participate in discussions with older and more experienced forum members.
Also, not all older forum members have patience for new and young members and I personally know several new forum members who gave up on this forum after harsh answers and posts from some older forum members.
It would be ideal for the OP to find a small and safe niche on this forum to start with, usually a local board, where he can get the necessary support and help until he learns some basics and decides what he really
wants and what interests him.
I hope he stays on this forum and becomes a contributing member to this community and forum.

Sometimes it’s even more advisable that newbies don’t just have to make such claims weather they’re computer programmers or not because learning in this forum is different from what you might think you were doing better or have learned in the outside world, this is a new environment so you’ll need to carefully learn and adapt to it if not any slightest mistake could hurt your progress in the forum. My experience here has really changed a lot about my perspective concerning bitcoin investment before joining the forum. Well it’s only but a matter of time before we can get to know if truly the Op is what he claimed to be.
