Altcoin are so funny man

, they keep saying they are decentralized only to find out that more than a quarter of their total validator use same infrastructure provider, a routing error is enough to almost cripple the entire blockchain. The worse thing is, solana is not the most centralized blockchain, there are blockchains with less than 40 validator and the validator knows each other, almost like private consortium and there is a blockchain that only have single sequencer to run the entire blockchain that secures $12.7 billion TVL...
Multiple ASN providers experienced simultaneous outages, revealing hidden infrastructure dependencies beyond simple hosting share. The largest ASN holder was hosting over 27% of total staked SOL at 94%(2). The new requirement of a Maximum Concentration Limit of 25%(3) actually saved the network this time, but it looks like it has to be tightened even more, for example to 10% for each providers.
AFAIK, the 25% ASN limit only enforced to validator with delegated funding from the Foundation which is 50% of the active validator, the other 50% are free to choose where they run their validator, I agree with the 10% cap, it should work better than the 25%.
