Great write-up on KYC and VPN complications in the crypto gambling industry op. Almost all crypto gambling sites can KYC you at any stage while very few will never KYC you which is something I learnt a long time ago. Be prepared to get KYC'd anytime basically.
Also, it's best to stick to sites that don't restrict your country in any manner whatsoever. However, if the site doesn't restrict your country, but your country banned it, it's totally fine accessing them via VPN though confirming with customer support helps.

I’m not sure about the details. But I know a friend of Chinese descent. He also gambles and is quite generous to friends when he wins. There’s also a Chinese guy who owns a big business in my area, but he went under because he had to pay off his gambling debts. I’m not sure about that myth. But who would want to miss out on enjoying a win?
I have not had any contact with Chinese people. They pay one of the lowest salaries to workers in my country, so I don't see them as generous. I know gambling is highly restricted in China, so there might be fewer gamblers there. I feel sorry for the Chinese guy who is suffering from addiction. Hope he gets back on his feet fast.

This kind of decision falls under two categories: a situation where you are knowingly going against the casino rules, and another case where you are just unfortunate to use a gambling casino that is not reputable.
Either of this could be a reason to why a user is unable to withdraw from a gambling casino, that is why we should be sensitive enough to know which category do we fall under or have a perception of what is causing the hindrance to our ability to make withdrawals, because some certain conditions does not really applies to every other gamblers on that same platform the same way we have it, and that is why we must know if we have violated the rules or on a scam platform that won't allow us to make withdrawal.

Many casinos give such conditions that KYC is not mandatory but after making an account in those casinos, when I deposit, there is no problem. But the problem arises when I go to withdraw dollars from that casino. However, I have experience of making an account in many such casinos where the ToS does not mention any condition that KYC has to be done but when I gamble after making an account, KYC is made mandatory. There are many more casinos where we get into trouble with KYC after making an account. But when we turn on VPN and go to do KYC, we face more problems because there is no approval of the country. I basically think this is a kind of trick of the casino authorities and they basically add multiple conditions while withdrawing without mentioning anything in the conditions to attract people and make KYC mandatory.

If a jurisdiction is prohibited, shouldn't the platform be expected to identify and block the player before accepting the deposit, rather than discovering the issue only when the player tries to cash out?
Many players from restricted locations have successfully used a casino by turning on VPN and even cashout their wins. Do you think that the casino just allowed them to be successful? No. It is because the casino was not aware that they were using VPN. I don't know how the casino system works to detect VPN cheats, but I believe that it is not that easy recognising that someone is playing with VPN, reason some gamblers get away with it. It may probably take one small error for the casino to recognise a cheat. There is nothing like an unfair treatment here, the casino has a list of restricted countries which the gamblers are aware of. Deciding to use VPN means you are willing to take the risks

If you want to play at a casino via VPN, never play for large sums of money. If there's a dispute, your account could be blocked, your money could be lost, and the casino would be right because they have a list of countries they operate in. Moreover, after a big win, the casino will likely require you to pass a КУC, which will make it clear you violated the casino's rules. After that, everything will depend on the casino, but I wouldn't want to find myself in that situation.

In the case of Stake.com, the matter is very simple. They will ask you to do KYC after taking the deposit, which is not the case. In fact if you do not complete your level-1 KYC, they will not give you the deposit address. And you will not be able to make any deposit . All casinos should follow strict rules like Stake. Actually you can make deposit without KYC but you will not be able to withdraw. This is a kind of scam. I think at least the issue of returning the original deposit should be considered separately from the confiscation of winning, if the casino itself has accepted that deposit first. This was not the rule from the beginning of their journey. They introduced it later. Now they do not activate an account without KYC. A user gets his deposit address only after completing Level 1. When they made KYC mandatory, they offered a good amount of bonus to all their previously active gamblers for doing KYC. $50-$200 or more depending on the VIP level. I remember at that time I got a $50 bonus for doing KYC. I have been using this platform for a long time, although I do not gamble regularly, but when I first registered on this platform, I gambled regularly for a few days. On the one hand, the issue of KYC verification before gambling is good for gamblers that no matter how big the winning is, they will be able to withdraw it immediately and will not have any problem with the KYC issue. On the other hand, those who gamble less and are very serious about his personal documents will not be interested in using this platform.

Regarding compliance checks for restricted jurisdictions... I've tested numerous online casinos and confirmed that such checks are carried out. If you're in the "wrong" jurisdiction, you won't be able to access the site at all. Another issue is that some players use VPNs for this purpose. However, I don't believe online casinos are obligated to check whether a player is using a VPN or not. Ultimately, such matters are beyond the technical competence of online casino staff.
The initial deposit must be returned to the player in any case. It doesn't matter whether the player has violated any of the casino's internal rules. The online casino has no claim to the player's money that they haven't lost. Confiscation of this money could be classified as robbery or theft.
Yes, I'm sure there are online casinos that, in practice, never resort to KYC (customer verification) procedures. From a business perspective, in my opinion, online casinos don't need such procedures.💁
Most casinos dont do some of these checks manually so many users might be able to bypass the restricted zone check using VPN. It only becomes a problem when it's time casinos begins to ask for kyc requirements which we know that at some points these casinos begins to act funny. Many of these compliance checks are done as a way to refuse paying out gamblers. Though this act is mostly found in unreputable casinos. I recently changed my previous casino because of similar thing. They never asked for kyc till recently..I hope the one in using now would be different. I mean the procedure isn't necessary if you claim to be non kyc, then you can only be trusted if it isn't requested even in the future.. In my opinion, the concept of "risk minimization" is universal when working with cryptocurrencies. It applies to both trading and gambling. 🙋 Besides finding a quality online casino, I also believe you should avoid the risk of losing large sums of money. If you win money, it's best to withdraw it to your cold wallet as quickly as possible. Personally, I try not to keep large sums of money at casinos. I only make a new deposit for the amount I plan to gamble with. In my opinion, studying the internal rules of online casinos provides little information about how they will work in the future (in practical situations). After all, internal rules of online casinos are often developed specifically for licensing and regulatory purposes. We don't know how these rules will be enforced in practice. Therefore, if you're taking risks, don't take big risks. Keep your potential losses to a minimum! 🧖

No kyc used to sound cool then till they turned it into something else. It's better to be honest and let your customers know from the start that you take kyc seriously. Making up the no kyc title is bad for a brand that really wants to grow. No p!ayer would be happy after spending so much on a casino, losses upon losses and when it is that special time for them to withdraw and be happy, the casino is requesting for kyc. It is not a good way to promote yourself to the world. Nowadays, many casinos no longer care because some do get away with this act.

I have come across many people who complained that the casino they used to gamble was a no KYC casino but immediately they won big it requires you to do KYC before withdraw this is because people don't read TOS properly to see the rules for a no KYC casino. I learnt that some no KYC casino have a withdraw limit for the day, and if you want to withdraw above that amount you may need to do your verification. The conclusion about this whole issues is that people need to read the rules of a new casino before signups to avoid complain later during withdraw. Just as op have read and fully understand the policies of different casino.
No KYC should be no KYC, not for a casino to promote themselves as no KYC, but in their TOS something is being said, players are also part of their own problem since they don’t take their time to read through policy of a platform they want to use, but it will still always be nice for casinos to be more straightforward than using those deceiving words.

I completely understand you, but we have to accept something that's key and universal: the system we live in doesn't like us to win or do well. There's always something they can find to take our money. The casino is a way to do it in an elegant way, because we lose money and are happy in the moment. It's only when we go back to the real world that we see the consequences. That's why, if we're going to be in a casino and decide to make a life there, or do it as our favorite, we have to comply with the KYC requirements at a level that guarantees we can withdraw that money.

The word no KYC is now the marketing strategy of casinos now and a big trap to gamblers who fail to look into the casino itself and see what their ToS says properly before moving further. I have now developed the culture of checking every casino I want to play with if they indicate no KYC on their announcement thread or elsewhere where because it is now in my consciousness what casinos do just to get the traffic and ones they achieve it, they turn the other way immediately just to frustrate players and take over their assets. Although some demand KYC upon registration while some do that after depositing and winning big. Upon request for withdrawal, they tell you to submit documents for verification which isn't making any sense since they claimed to be a KYC free casino.

Since we all know this about the casinos that claim to be no KYC and still request for KYC, I don’t think any player is suppose to still have issues about KYC again in as much as you are using a trusted casino and you’re sure your private information is secured with them. It would only be an issue if you don’t trust the casino and they are not reputable and I’m sure no one will want to leave their money for any casino because they ask for KYC to be able to withdraw. So we should just make sure we’ve gone through the casino and their policy before using.

I think one of the issues of KYC is not that you dont trust or trust casino, but because you can submit documents for casino that you trust, and they could be rejected without any explanation. And as casino like to tell, their decision is always final. Issues is that you upload your private information and you still end with nothing. I think you would be very disappointed if you upload documents to casino that you trust, but their script will reject them because thought that lighting of picture you holding your ID was poor; and you wont have a second chance to upload them.

You can't simply say that doing KYC is no longer an issue if you are using a trusted casino. The problem is that having KYC can be a hassle for most players even if it is a known casino. Most players choose a no KYC casino because they protect their privacy and they don't want to submit any documents. Imagine if you deposit your money, having to enjoy playing, and then when the time you have decided to withdraw your winnings, you suddenly see that you need to do KYC before they release your funds. It puts the players in a situation where they ends up with no other choice but to follow so they can get their funds. Wherein, the online casino can be transparent. If they advertise as no KYC, but sooner they will require KYC under some specific circumstances, they should clearly indicate it from the very beginning. Especially if it comes to having KYC as a condition to withdraw your funds, players deserve to know that information before they can deposit.

So, does that mean there's basically no truly No KYC casino in the world? Because if a casino is licensed, it is automatically subject to regulation and would need to follow AML policies and whatever else is required. CMIIW.
Also, based on this list, Cloudbet seems to be a better option if your priority is avoiding KYC, especially if you're a small player. But there doesn't seem to be a good option for big rollers who want to avoid KYC.
I played on Cloudbet a few times using bonuses I got there (never deposited), and I won and was able to withdraw the money without any problems. They didn't ask for KYC or anything. From what I remember, though, they require some other verification, like a phone number or something, to receive the bonus. That's understandable since they need some way to prevent people from abusing the bonuses.
BTW, why can't casinos do something similar to some exchanges, where certain features like deposits, withdrawals, and trading are restricted until you complete KYC? As you said, they still allow players to play initially, but in the end, they ask for our KYC when we request a withdrawal from our winnings.
IMO, if they can't pay our winnings because of KYC issues, then it should work vice versa. They shouldn't take our money (if we lose), because the money comes from players who don't meet the criteria in the first place.

I don't see any problem requesting for verification later. The casinos in question may have a legitimate reason why they ask for verification later. But they are people that think it is unfair that casinos are doing what they do. But assuming that the casinos don't want to pay you just because they asked for verification is absurd. Just gamble all the way and do it rightly. For next time, it's best you read the their rules before depositing to avoid unnecessary complain from the supposed user.

Isn't this what we usually witness? I have read some scam accusation posts and some are related to KYC, a user wins big then KYC is required. Some even say they submitted all the requirements and still failed verification so they cannot withdraw their winnings. That's really the problem, not if the casino is legit, but with scammers they might use KYC verification as a reason to freeze accounts. That's the sad reality and we can actually see some accusations like that happening.

Not usually, because the main reason why some users' accounts get frozen is not because they failed KYC but because they were suspected of cheating. Asking for KYC after they already have a conclusion actually doesn't make much sense, unless what they're trying to do is identify who is really behind the account and who is cheating the casino. But if that's really the reason, then I doubt actual cheaters would willingly do KYC. So if a user completes KYC and still gets accused of cheating, then that's something we have to look at more carefully, maybe the casino itself is the one being unfair here.

Do you consider "No KYC" misleading if verification can still be required before a large cashout?
Yes absolutely it’s misleading then. I can understand it if they manually process the large cashout. But if they ask for KYC then they are completely going against what they promised. I can agree to manual verification, where they check whether I cheated to win or not. If I haven’t cheated then they should simply process the withdrawal. But if they still ask for KYC that’s when they are breaking the promise they made when I signed up for the casino. Now some people will argue that casinos do this to prevent money laundering. But if we think about it practically, I simply risked my own money by betting and then won. How is that related to money laundering and on what basis can they ask for KYC in this situation?
