I can't imagine a scenario, unless it's for mischief, where a user would create an alternate account without disclosing that they already have one. There might be a reason, I can't see it, but if anyone can point to it, I'd appreciate it.
The reason is freedom of speech without consequences to your main account:
If you're hesitant to say something controversial because you don't want it to be associated with your name, please create an alt account and say it.
I understand... but...
This led to this alternative account having very few activity, or very specific activity. Unless a person spends their life saying controversial things, in which case that second account becomes the first account.
Furthermore, even in this scenario, I don't see the need to create a third or fourth account. In other words, you can use just one account to be controversial.
It should be noted that I continued to believe that, since this forum is a space for free opinion, people should not be ashamed to express their opinion. The fact that a person has to create a secondary account to express their opinion does not demonstrate the existence of freedom of expression; quite the opposite.
In turn, do you think it's too harsh of me to always leave a neutral tag whenever I find an account that I think is alternative?
