Nuclear weapons are not away to create peace. North Korea is difficult to attack not simply because of their nuclear weapons but also have very strong military forces, alliances, geography and because of enormous cost of war. If a country does not have nuclear weapons, that does not mean they can be attacked easily. The Venezuelan leader was not abducted because of the lack of nuclear power , any leader can be abducted or removed. There are multiple factors that are involved in international politics including military capability, diplomatic relationships, economic pressure and also international laws. Nuclear weapons sometimes create such a situation where a simple mistake can cause accident during an authorised launch that can cause catastrophic consequences
Mate, nuclear weapons play a very big factor, and most especially if a country has intercontinental ballistic missiles. Do you think North Korea was testing those missles just for jokes? They are well prepared for a scenario where the US tries to attack them. I don't think Kim would hesitate to retaliate, and Trump knows that.
Russia has been at war with Ukraine for years now. Why do you think the US (the self-appointed disciplinarian of the world) is not directly involved in the bombing of Russia but would rather just send weapons and aid to their proxies to do the fighting? Same thing with China. The US knows that if they start a war with them, then things can get so bad.
Fair enough, more nukes out there means a less safe world. And owning them isn't really the best solution either.
But given where the world is at right now, it's probably the realistic option. Looking at the bright side, if most countries had them as strategic deterrence. Invasions and bullying would probably go down a lot, imo.
I believe if Iran or Venezuela had nuclear weapons like North Korea, there wouldn't be any war and we wouldn't have to deal with crises like the ones we're seeing now.
