Exchange: HitBTC
Ticket Number: #1670599
Issue: Infinite SoF loop, demanding impossible documents from a sanctioned platform, ignoring Account Offboarding requests.

Hello everyone,

I am posting this to warn the community about HitBTC’s predatory compliance practices. I am a fully KYC-verified user on HitBTC. I have a small remaining balance of $548 USDT. Recently, HitBTC blocked my withdrawals and requested a Source of Funds (SoF) report with precise transaction hashes for LTC and BTC deposits I made back in 2020.

The Issue:
These funds were acquired and transferred via WebMoney. As many are aware, WebMoney was officially sanctioned, blocked, and forced to cease all operations in my country years ago. User dashboards and transaction histories are permanently destroyed/inaccessible. It is physically impossible to log in and get the withdrawal screenshots they want.

What I provided:
I provided the only surviving evidence: official, unedited email receipts from WebMoney showing my exact crypto purchases (WMX and WML) matching my verified KYC name.

The Support Loop:
HitBTC's automated support bots reject this. They state that since I can't provide platform screenshots, I must provide "withdrawal emails for those specific hashes". I already explained multiple times that 5-year-old withdrawal emails from a dead platform do not exist in my inbox.

Offboarding Denied:
Realizing this is a dead end, I formally requested Account Offboarding (to permanently close my account and manually withdraw my remaining $548). HitBTC support completely ignored this legal request and just sent the exact same copy-paste template asking for the impossible withdrawal emails again.

They are purposely holding my funds hostage using impossible requirements from a defunct platform. This is a warning to anyone using HitBTC.

HitBTC reps, please escalate my ticket #1670599 to a human compliance officer and process my offboarding immediately.

Hey, sorry to hear about this. They already have a bad reputation on this forum: they “selective” pick users and scam them. I don’t think there’s much chance of recovering your funds from this exchange once they lock you out.

You can review the additional cases below:

HitBTC has been known as a scam exchange on this forum for years; your thread serves not so much as a warning, but rather as yet another collection of stories about account freezes that will never be resolved.

HitBTC reps, please escalate my ticket #1670599 to a human compliance officer and process my offboarding immediately.
I don't recall if they have a representative here, but even if they do, they abandoned the account long ago.

Thanks Trêvoid and everyone for the input and links.

Yeah, I’ve seen similar stories while researching this issue. It’s really frustrating to see an exchange operate this way for years, using defunct platforms as a trap to freeze funds. Even if their official representatives abandoned this forum, I have submitted a new formal ticket directly via their Legal/Account Closure division regarding ticket #1670599, explicitly referencing this public thread. I am keeping this thread active so anyone searching for HitBTC reviews or dealing with WebMoney/SoF issues can see exactly how they handle KYC-verified accounts and offboarding requests. I will post updates here as soon as I get a response on the new ticket.

That infinite KYC loop is a common trait seen in different complaints about HitBTC, so I am not even surprised. What surprises me is why you have been using them for all that time even though such complaints have been there for several years.

The aim of the impossible-to-fulfill KYC is so you can eventually give up, and then they will start deducting your crypto periodically as some maintenance fee when your account becomes inactive until the entire amount left in the account is no more.
