This question isn't about mining reward, solo mining is considered not profitable, I get that part.....
400 watts for 30TH on Bitcoin mining reasonable?
I'm talking about the new BSB home miner with the BM1373 Asic chips, it offers higher hashrate with lower power consumption, apart from the cost my question is pointing to that consumption energy Vs the Hashrate.
Do you think it's good enough?
The actual miner is very new and only few people still get their hand on it, full name is BSB B30 Miner, I don't know if anyone is already on this miner yet, a source said it's still a prototype and not fully launched for public I don't know.
All I know is it's better than the 12TH miner that takes 230watts
Which to some it's the most efficient for solo....
What does it cost?
The power cost is 0.4x24= 9.6 kwatts
Say 10 kwatts a day or 3650 kwatts a year if you have 30 cent power cost you are spending 1095 a year on power
Plus buying the unit
Basically way too much.
I have the apollo III
SET TO super eco i burn 100 watts for 8th.
Or 2.4 kwatts a day or about 900 kwatts a year at 30 cents a kwatt about 270 a year on power
I save 825 usd in power in a year.
So if the BSB cost 600 and the Apollo is 1000 I am still ahead 425 in costs
And each year after I save 825
This means I can buy 400 every year in btc
And spend money taking my wife out to dinner a few times.
So my advice is unless you power is super super super super cheap do not spend 400 watts a day to solo mine
