Kumusta, mga kapwa Bitcoiner —

I'm Simeon, an Austrian Bitcoiner (holding since 2014), married to a (half) Filipina. I've spent the past few months building CleanProof (cleanproof.io) and I'd genuinely value this community picking it apart.

The idea: someone cleans a street or public area, films a quick before/after video (GPS-tagged), it gets peer-reviewed, and they're paid in sats over Lightning straight to their own self-custodial wallet (Pouch, Wallet of Satoshi, whichever they prefer). No custodial holding on our end. Funders deposit over Lightning, and every payout carries a cryptographic receipt.

Code's private for now, but I'll add anyone serious as a read-only collaborator — just drop your GitHub username and I'll set it up. I'd rather you check the payout logic yourselves than take my word for anything.

It's live. I recently rebuilt the whole payment backend on a self-custodial node (Alby Hub, connected over NWC) after the old hosted setup died — no BTCPay, no rented infrastructure, no third party able to disable my payments. Happy to talk through the custody and liquidity side with anyone curious, since I had to think hard about it.

What I actually need: people anywhere in the Philippines willing to help this work in practice — recruiting cleaners locally, being a trustworthy presence on the ground, or just telling me why it won't work where you are. This isn't Manila-only; if there's interest in Cebu, Davao, wherever, I want to hear it.

I tried hiring coordinators through Fiverr and got ghosted twice — the obvious lesson being that this isn't a gig-marketplace job, it needs people who actually care about their own community.

Tear it apart, ask hard questions, or tell me it's a bad idea. All of it's useful.

Maganda siguro Simeon if you'll put how much the reward will be. Not to be picky ang mga tao but because if it's worth it for someone who's quite busy to do the task.

Since this is all about cleaning and getting paid. Im curious how the payment structure works? I'm also interested in the eligibility requirements. How large does the cleaned area need to be before someone qualifies for a reward? And what app is supposed to be used for recording the cleanup, especially if the submission needs to include GPS/location data? How safe the privacy of each volunteer as  well.

I think this kind initiative of will encourage people to clean more on their communities, and same time getting paid by bitcoin/crypto.

I actually read similar "clean-to-earn" concepts using blockchain to record and verify cleanup activities, so the idea itself is certainly interesting.

Baka in future marami na tayong makikitang gumagawa nito.

Pero let see if papatok tong project na ganito. If meron maayos mag operate ng ganitong project for sure na madaming tao ang sasali dito.

That 1 merit doesn't mean anything naman, regardless kung mag po-proceed ang project or not OR if totoo ito or not OR magiging success ito or not. Knowing it's just interesting yung ganitong concept if ma implement dito sa locals natin. Kaya madami din akong tanong. Knowing na may ganitong concept just like i mentioned too so this is not really new, pero still interesting like how gov. doing its TUPAD na puro mga tamad naman at photo ops lang din.

About naman sa sinabi ko about the project, yes, this kind of people on the project is possible, daming ganyan na kayang mag take advantage sa lahat na may "to earn" na gawain.

Good morning everyone!

First of all I am very happy with the kind of responses you all gave me. Made me smile Smiley

I will do my best to address each of your points in order.

Maganda siguro Simeon if you'll put how much the reward will be. Not to be picky ang mga tao but because if it's worth it for someone who's quite busy to do the task.

Yes, as a non-technical person I am using AI to build this project from the ground up. It had always been a goal of mine to do something about pollution but until recently the technology wasn't ready. Now that it is, I am getting my hands dirty to clean up the world.
This means I am using AI to translate languages, understand the world, and help with drafting messages. I feel it's a great tool and we should use it as such.
Beyond me using AI for these purposes, CleanProof has nothing to do with AI. In the distant future, it might use AI for verification processes, but right now I am intending for humans to verify cleanups and rate them.

The rewards: there's 2 kinds. One is for cleaning and verifying cleanups, and one is for acting as my local coordinator.
The cleanup payments logic still needs some work, but in general I will aim for it to pay slightly above minimum Filipino wage. This is not what any of you will likely be doing, it's geared towards people with too much time on their hands like an idle tricyle driver or a fisherman picking up trash on his way home who wants to earn supplemental income.

The coordinator job is higher paying but shorter in duration, at least for now. Think $120 for 10 hours work over a week's time. The goal of the coordinator is the recruit willing cleaners who agree to test out the concept by cleaning and being filmed doing so. I need to prove it works in practice before pitching it to potential funders. Happy to provide more details on that later.

Regarding payment structure: the cleaner locks the GPS, then films the „before“ video of the trash. The site shows a 10 minute countdown during which the cleaning needs to happen. Then the cleaner does the 2nd video „after“ and some bonus stuff like showing they were thorough or where the trash went, and a smiling selfie. The reward is determined by the amount of stars they get from the people verifying it and their rank. Cleaners can level up to earn more (rank decays with inactivity). So a longer, more thorough cleanup pays more. Keeping at it helps too. Ten minutes of solid cleaning is the minimum right now, but I am working on a solution where the cleaners of the highest rank can get paid even for small trash removal (just an idea so far).

On the area size: there is no minimum area. It's the 10 minutes that counts, not the square meters. A small but really dirty corner can pay more than a big area that was half clean already, because the reviewers see the before and after and rate what actually changed.

Eligibility: anyone. You need a phone, internet and a trash bag. No application, no interview, no waiting. You sign up and clean.

For now it's running in a phone's browser. App development is planned. The browser can do everything already, it's just less convenient. The privacy is such that minimal data is collected. Basically only a phone number is needed that ties a person to a username.

Regarding GPS and cleaner privacy: the GPS locks to the cleanup, not the cleaner. There's no continous tracking of people. You can verfiy this yourself if you want, I'll give you access to the github if you give me your github tag.

I am funding this pilot, including the development of the app (I did it all myself), the coordinator pay, and the first cleaners who will participate for the pilot. They will make more than the average cleaner because they'll be featured in the promo material.

Honestly, first time I am hearing about humanmotiondata. I just researched it and there's really no overlap that I can see. The product isn't the video, it's the cleanup and the cryptograhic link to the funder. The video itself isn't what people pay for. It's the proof their money went where we say it went.

And one difference that matters a lot to me: they hold your money until you reach a minimum payout, and they can disable your account. I can do neither. The sats go straight to the cleaner's own wallet the moment a cleanup is approved. I never hold them, so I can never freeze them.

Let me explain the incentives here:
We have funders, and we have cleaners. The cleaners get money for the menial task of cleaning up. In fact they get lightning payments. So they need only a phone, internet and a trash bag. Philippines are therefore ideal since there's plenty of trash too.
The Funders are different. They are sophisticated Bitcoiners who want to do some good, get cryptograhic proof and videos of what they paid for. They will also be able to show the world what impact their donations had.

Also, and this is important, we're not touching any altcoins here.

Knowing na may ganitong concept just like i mentioned too so this is not really new, pero still interesting like how gov. doing its TUPAD na puro mga tamad naman at photo ops lang din.

Interesting, and thank you for pointing this out. You mention TUPAD photo ops, and that is exactly what I built against. You cannot upload a photo here. It has to be video, the GPS locks before you start, and the same place has to show up in the before and the after. Then two people who don't know each other have to agree it's real. A photo op does not survive that. The problem with TUPAD was that nobody was checking. Here the checking is the whole thing.

I spent a LOT of time thinking about these incentives, because the worst thing that could happen is that we end up with MORE trash on the ground.
There's boni for showing where the trash went and for thoroughness. Also, there's the option of having coordinators on the ground checking on places that stay clean to pay out a passive income. Think uber driver getting protective of his street being littered.

Many more ideas are in my head, such as Satoshi's Bounty, where a funder can place a stash of sats that can be "mined" probabilistically by cleaning in an area with high pollution or that otherwise gets little cleaning, such as further away from an urban area. But, that's for later.

So content creators are just people, so why would they not be able to participate? In fact, this would be a huge boon if they mentioned CleanProof to their audience. I don't think they naturally would, but maybe I could enter into a cooperation with a few. Thanks for the idea.

Middlemen exploitation risk is minimal because there's almost no money to be made doing it. That's the short answer. The longer one is that there's checks and balances. The cleanup asks for a selfie with a smile from the cleaner. Every cleanup is verified independently by 2 humans from a distance. We have a reputation system and can flag for fraud.

But I want to be honest about where the limit is. If one person holds the account and the wallet and pays somebody else a little money to do the actual cleaning, the system cannot see that. No GPS and no video fixes it. What fixes it is people on the ground who know who is really doing the work. That's a big part of why I am asking here instead of hiring another stranger on Fiverr.

I hope I addressed most of your questions. Looking forward to your next engagements!

Simeon
