The English Football League is second League of England better known as Championship.
There are 24 teams in the league and top clubs are promoted to EPL English Premier League.
Champions of last season was Coventry.

Guys we have EFL Championship league finally started today and we saw plenty of goals and interesting results today.
There are three more matches left to be played in Sunday and Monday, but it is important to remember that Southampton started with 4 point deduction because of Federation decision.
They are playing against Watford tomorrow and they need to win if they want to reduce point gap in first round.
Very good start of the season for newcomer Bolton who win their first match against Preston.

Champions of last season was Leeds United.

I think this was left from last season thread showing winners from 2 seasons ago. The table you posted is accurate from last season, Coventry won the league qualifying to the EPL along with Ipswich and Hull who made it through playoffs.

I find it interesting that the day a thread is created about how there are too many football threads here a new football league thread gets created.
This just goes to show that the merging different leagues into one mega thread regardless of whether these leagues are in the same country would be unrealistic, although if there was already a thread for this particular league then it would be better to maintain conversations about it within it rather than create new ones every time a new season starts.

Those 4 points are equivalent to 1 ½  games, Southampton began their season with that deficit. I might be missing something here, is their situation related to the spygate case from last season?

If it is indeed linked to that case, then I think they deserve that punishment, it was detrimental not only to Middlesbrough but also to Oxford United & Ipswich Town.

First it's a bit sad that we won't have prediction pool this season. Without it I automatically will pay less attention to Championship. And it will be so strange to see West Ham playing in Championship after spending so many season in EPL. Don't know about you guys, but it's one of teams that I prefer to see playing in EPL, so, I hope that they will earn promotion.

Yes, it's penalty for spygate. 4 points doesn't looks much, but when fighting for promotion, even 4 points can be crucial.

I play this league sometimes but for the beginning of the season, I prefer to step aside and watch them first to see their forms and also take note of the teams that are scoring and conceding many goals. In some bookies that have the option of gg or over 2.5, this league is a good choice for players begause of their big odds for that option. But over 1.5 is usually a high probability bet for me there and I want to see the teams that will regularly deliver that so I can focus on them.

Today Cadiff will be facing Wrexham today at home and since it's the beginning of the season, I normally refrain from betting since alot of teams aren't balance but with the odds given to Wrexham and there performance last seaon, I think I will attempt to play alittle. In this match am thinking od handicapping Wrexham with 1 goal to win. I don't know if there are any other suggestions ?

Yes, it's penalty for spygate. 4 points doesn't looks much, but when fighting for promotion, even 4 points can be crucial.

Two, or even a single point becomes crucial in certain situations, they must face the consequences of their actions. They have already played their match against Watford, although most expected them to win, given the need to close the gap in the standings, they ultimately failed to do so. Their next opponents are Stoke City, they really need to secure points in that match, otherwise their position will be at risk.

Game was really intresting from the start,we seen an early goal from Wrexham in the 3rd minute and it stayed like that all the way until the last minute when Cardiff was able to score a goal and snatch a point in the very end. Wrexham after scoring the goal was trying to score off of counter attacks and was really close a lot of times but they were just unlucky. Cardiff pushed the entire match with not many big chances but were able to get a point and avoid defeat in the first match of their season.

I didn't expect that match to end in a draw after how long Wrexham hold on for and the funny thing was that the match given additional time was already exhusted before Cadiff turned the tie, it must have been real painful for the Wrexham fans and players. Since its the beginningof the season, they are going to have a long time to recover and maybe this will be there year to be promoted. That previous post guy @Taricoins but have won tonight as it seems the bet he placed was spot on.

Cardiff City managed to secure a late equalizer from Wrexham and I must say I blame the visitors for such a mistake because prior to the equalizer, they were ahead of the game and maintained enough pressure but I guess when you have pressured so hard, there come a time when exhaustion will set in and that's what happened and now but teams where made to share the spoils.
