BTCUSDT pair on Binance can have dozens of minutes with 0% volatility now

Do you remember the BTC price action ever looking like this on Binance?

Some say it's because the volumes went to tokenised stocks but now it's weekend, stocks aren't traded and even though weekend volatility has always been lower for crypto, I don't recall it being this bad. Ever.

Are we on the edge of something big?

I have gone through bitcoin chart on Binance anonymously, I was able to see the chart and I saw on both spot and future chart that you are not right, I can see high amount of transactions (bitcoin trading volume on the exchange in USD) under 1 minute chart.

Binance doesn't operate in my region so I use apps like Tabtrader and Tradingview for charting.

Btw, zero volatility doesn't mean there are zero trades, it means those trades basically didn't the move the price even a little bit (they all occurred at the same price).

As you can see the the high and the low of the candle differ by just 1 (one) cent. And those are 15 minutes candles!

I was referring to trading volume before, but you are right about the volatility, although it is not as bad in the 15 minute candles, but more noticable in the 1 minutes candles.

This is not the first time this is happening. There has been times that bitcoin will be very less volatile so I am not surprised with this. Only traders can be very frustrated. And if something like this happen, in 2 or few days everything will change.

This is possible on 1 minute charts although it's strange. I knkw that Bitcoin volatility have greatly reduced but such reduction is not to the extent of the price not changing within a minute and such securing over several minutes. Have you tried comparing this chart of Binance with that of another exchange or tradingview main website for the same times? The answer may lie in this comparison because I still feel something is wrong.

I literally posted 3 screenshots, one from Binance, one from Tradingview and one from TabTrader. They are all the same, it's just very little trading happens on Binance's BTCUSDT pair (which is still the main trading pair for BTC worldwide), even less so on other exchanges.

For many minutes the price may not move even 1 cent. Then for hours it may only move 1 or 2 cent, which is crazy for an asset that is worth 63 thousand dollars. Seems like peak apathy.

If this is not a bug in the chart, the only explanation to this is that the market has experienced some for of stability that makes the price not to fluctuate so much. I tend to go with the aspect of stability in the market price which we already know that bitcoin have been experiencing relatively low volatility.  This is unlike before where we see huge spikes in price often thereby making it impossible to see no change in price in 60 seconds.

No volatility means no volume. So the market is obviously no longer has excitement, and it's totally opposite to the SP500 which is still recording new ATH.

I don't think this is a signal if we're heading toward something big. You knows market is getting even worsen. We might only have alts to share the volume in the past, but this time we're also having tokenized stock that is also sucking the vol and volatility from crypto.

So i guess btc's stagnation is the output of it.
