Baseball Vs Cricket which one is you pick?

So I would like to ask you , if you understand both games pretty well which one you seems most enjoyable?

I have no intention of belittling any game. It's has been a curiosity of mine. Although I've watched some youtube videos but didn't like those.

My personal principle in choice making of which game or events I should bet on is usually that I should only place bets on games that I'm familiar with.
There had truly been lot of interesting sports game's in the world that carries nice entertainment activities which I also watches in the TV and newsletters, that of the Cricket and Baseball hadn't been exceptional but because I don't have interest on them as I can't even study the rules, I don't personally enjoy it and I also don't place bet on such strange games.
Football had really been on of the MOST dominance sport events that gamblers also bets more on than every other's.

Both are not really popular in my country but, I'm happy to see that baseball is also gaining traction. Because we now have the Philippines national baseball team. Many of my countrymen still not into basebasell but if I get to choose then that's obvious of which one I will. Although we also have the Philippine Cricket Association, both sports need the support of the government since we're all starting to participate in almost every team sport that's becoming popular in the country, the same goes with football.

I don't understand a single rule about baseball but it's always fascinates me regarding the baseball and cricket. Both we're getting played by a bat & a ball. But the structure and the rules are totally different.

I dont understand the rules like that for both but i have watched the sports before both cricket and baseball and i must say, enjoyed baseball more at least when compared to cricket. The cricket concept is still diffcult to catch on and to be honest, i havnt taken time to learn the rules and the structure of the game but then when it comes to the entertainment of the sport, i prefer baseball over cricket. Maybe it is because i seen too many Instagram videos about baseball and now i kinda lean towards more than cricket.

I think we are in thesame shoe, I love them as well but don't know the rules, perhaps this thread will motivate me to do research to know the rules of this game, it will be of no use for a game to be enjoyable without knowing the rules, it is a total waste of time. I had intention to start it this week and see how far I can learn.

I’m from country that cricket is totally unknown sports since we are influenced heavily by US and Spanish when it comes to sports.

I play baseball a lot during my elementary and high school days on my school so I will be biased on my choice for baseball but I will always love a a sports that has similarities on baseball just like cricket if it was the one introduced here instead of baseball.

With that being said, people will be biased on their choice depending on what sports introduced to them first and what gameplay suit to their preference.

If I should be watching people playing it, basket ball is more fun to me than cricket while watching the players playing it. But if I should learn one and be playing it for fun, I will prefer to go for cricket because it is not as stressful as basketball. If it is about betting, I will prefer to bet on basketball and I have not bet on cricket before. I do not even know how to play cricket and I do not know the rules.

You don't have to 'research' really. If you merely start watching cricket games, you'll start to grasp the rules of the game, the player names and everything automatically; commentators are there for a reason.

^ This applies to any sports one may want to learn.

PS: Looking at traction this thread got and how majority of comments sound — looks like cricket is dead sports on the forum.

I don't understand a single rule about cricket, although I remember learning it and researching about it several years ago. I even watched games and understood it at the time, but then I dropped the whole thing and forgot it completely in 2-3 years time. So, I can't say, I understand both games pretty well. I only know that they both are getting played by a bat and a ball. But I enjoy watching baseball like millions of others. This is the game I pick.

If two sports seems to be the same, hitting ball with a bat, then why criminals prefer baseball bats over cricket bat? Why baseball bats can be found in almost every sports inventory shops, but cricket bats I think mostly are in shops located in countries that are famous cricket lovers. Same goes with the balls. If cricket is not popular in your country, the have you ever saw cricket balls in your sport shops? Looks like many pick baseball over cricket.

Lmao, this came out of nowhere. Well, I am sure criminal would pick whatever is available to 'em, and you can be assured either of the game's bat will get the job done (didn't mean to be dark, but had to be said).

What else do you expect? Whichever sport is prominent in country, you'll find it's stuff and not of others.

I choose baseball because I understand it somewhat. I can't keep up with the major championships very closely, but it's a sport I've always admired and enjoyed. Brazil is a country with little or no tradition in the sport, but near my house there's a place that offers free lessons, and I have friends who play; I often watch some games.

Lol, I've never understood either baseball or cricket. In fact, I've heard that it's hard for a European to understand the rules of baseball. On the other hand, in Russia, there's a third form of these games, which is similar to baseball and cricket, called "lapta." The only difference is that in lapta, the field is rectangular, not oval like in cricket, and not a strange quadrangular sector like in baseball. I tried to understand the rules of baseball, but I never had the patience to grasp them. Although I've read about people who made baseball predictions (I'm talking about Nate Silver). In my opinion, all these games descend from some ancient ancestor.

Actually, not everyone likes the same thing, some like football, some like cricket, and some like hockey, baseball, etc. Personally, I don't think I've ever watched a baseball game. Seeing this topic, I tried to enjoy it by searching on YouTube, but I couldn't understand anything.

Cricket is a very popular sport in South Asia, there are many cricket fans here. So there is no need to say which sport I find more enjoyable.

Well, if you are into it, it is. I think whether you like a particular a sport, it depends on culture one grew up in — for Americans like you, baseball is the norm, for countries like India, cricket is the norm and their people choose what they are familiar with.

As for answer to OP, I prefer cricket. It's what I grew up with and it's the only sport I understand well, and too lazy to leave my comfort zone now.

That's what I was going to answer, more or less. In my case, I only know cricket because I have accidentally heard about it in movies or television series, but there is no culture in my country around this sport, nor do I know anyone who plays it or any place where you can watch a game, apart from the Internet.

However, in the case of baseball, although it is not very popular either, due to the cultural influence exerted by the United States in my environment, I do know it better and I have been able to understand and enjoy the (few) games that I have ever watched.

So my pick is definitely baseball, but for the reason given by libert19: simply because of the two, it is the sport that I know and understand best. Which brings us to the next question, so if I had to bet on one or the other, the choice would be clear and you already know the answer...
