The best option, therefore, is not necessarily to choose one over the other. Combining education with entrepreneurship can be more productive. A person can acquire useful knowledge and skills while developing a legitimate business venture. In the current Nigerian economy, education provides the foundation, while entrepreneurship can provide an avenue to apply those skills, generate income and create jobs.
Life is no longer the same as it used to be in the past when education was affordable but these days, you can finish education and come back to those things you never wanted to do after acquiring education. The world is evolving therefore we should understand that the only way to eradicate or reduce the rate of poverty is through entrepreneurial skills. It's time to become productive and leave behind the fallacy that if you ain't educated that you can't make it in life. If possible, people should concentrate more on learning skills that will help them to navigate through life, they can come back to education after achieving some level of financial stability. Education is not a yardstick to a successful living so we must endeavour to engage in things that will protect our financial position instead of paying a lot of money for education only to finish and begin to struggle with everyday financial reality.
