Bitcoint hit $65,000 today and it is trending in the net that, it was because there was an ease in the Strait of Hormuz but I did not See any connection of the two things. Someone has said this here but I did not pay attention at that time and seeing it again draw my attention closer. This is what was said. Bitcoin (BTC) hit $65,000 after Tuesday’s Wall Street open as US stocks rebounded in spite of geopolitical pressure. though there are more to read. You can read from the link. Bitcoin reclaims $65,000 as Strait of Hormuz fears ease My question is, does the Strait of Hormuz has a control in the movement of bitcoin?

Do not be fooled with all these, bitcoin has its own trends and war in Iran is not part of it. Bitcoin like to react to news but the trend will be followed at last. Since I have been studying the price of bitcoin, I have noticed this and not bothered with such news anymore so far I am not thinking of using it to trade.

The news of easing tension in Hormuz could improve market sentiment. It could also ease oil price pressure and bring some buying into risk asset, in that sense there could be a connection with BTC reclaiming $65K. But it can't be directly said that Hormuz eased, so Bitcoin pumped.
If you look at broader market then you will understand that S&P 500 rebound, U.S.-Iran rhetoric, oil, Treasury yields, Fed expectations and overall risk sentiment all of them are influencing the market together.
Another interesting point is that today I saw Hormuz situation deteriorate again. Brent rose above $91 and negotiations were stalled. So I don't think it is a simple one to one relationship. I would rather say that Hormuz news was one catalyst among several, not the sole reason Bitcoin moved to $65K.

Current performance could be attributed in some level to it. Iran has chosen to take Bitcoin as toll and for maritime insurance to prevent censorship from western authorities. In summary Iran has chosen to take Bitcoin as a form of payment hence the current rise.

Crude oil Price reached it highest height since July today and this is the direct influence of the recent tension escalating the war which strait of Hormuz, is the main tool for that recent price hike, but Bitcoin reaching $65k+ which is not directly tied to the Straits of Hormuz, so don't get it wrong. But also eased tension will increase global economic activities that can give a general positive push to both traditional assets like oil Price and Nasdaq moving along Bitcoin in an indirect way.

Bitcoin is not in isolation from the economic market but however we seem not to accept that fact that bitcoin made a shift years ago or year ago when it became politically friendly but however in today whatever affects all other assets in the market affects bitcoin too, so don’t be surprised that bitcoin reacts to whatever news because it’s traded by individuals whose lives are running on the economic market so they buy more at every buyable news and sell more at sellable news making the buying and selling price the reaction of bitcoin to the news but generally it (straits of Hormuz ) has nothing to do with bitcoin.

My question is, does the Strait of Hormuz has a control in the movement of bitcoin?
I just saw a news while ago that Iran is not going to open the strait of Hormuz until they come to a more meaningful conclusion with the US government. I don’t know the meeting has already being held to have pushed bitcoin price up, but I doubt they’re the reason for the market to pump a bit now. Bitcoin is independent of war and all of these are what we were expecting of the market from time to time. So this is not a big deal seeing the market rise in price, strait of Hormuz do not have effect on the market to influence its direction for the long term.

You saw it right because Iran has said that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the US meets the interim conditions. I have seen news that the US has not fulfilled the interim conditions signed with Iran in June, some of which I will highlight are the lifting of the blockade on Iranian ports and the lifting of the embargo on oil. By the way after Trump opened the Strait of Hormuz, it had a positive impact on the Bitcoin market and iterally that's correct he price of Bitcoin increased slightly to $65k for the first time since August 10, even Iran has chosen Bitcoin as a means of payment and that is probably why this rise. It is even safe to say that if tensions ease, oil prices could fall, which could lead to a positive return to global economic momentum and a positive upward trend in the Bitcoin market.

Bitcoin market reacts to news , is it new to you and most are just hoiurs to few days in some csses months For example what do you think happened immediately at the beginning of "strait of hormuz" thing, crash and recove . What about the Covid? Crashed and recovered (all of these within days ).
Let's move to what happend after the last US election? It moved from 75k and peaked at 106k then went back to that 75k before recovering slowly to 126k but that was also accompanied by halving and now we are back to 60-70 ( all these took months). What exactly is confusing ?

My simple answer is no effect, none that I know of. If you think otherwise, give us a rundown of how bitcoin reacted to the several times the Strait of Hormus have been opened and close so we can check to see the correlation. I know that bitcoin responds to economic news but because of the nature of the war, it is no longer obvious what effect the Strait has on bitcoin. If you look at the charts, you will understand that bitcoin have been stuck in a range for a while now, meaning there was no breakout in either direction. Assuming there is any serious fundamentals that bitcoin reacted to, then we would have had a breakout.

When the war in Iran started I was actually looking forward at what kind of impact the closure of the Strait will have while it did had an early negative impact it was short term and that was simply a war panic on the market and nothing more, as this war has progressed I thought the strait closure will heavily impact the energy sector and this will hinder supply to miners as this was the only reason or way I see the bitcoin market getting affected but none of that had happened earlier on. So basically even as at now I don’t actually think the strait has any major impact in the market. Bitcoin has definitely be ranging for a very long time and this comes after we had bearish period so it is logically right now if the market decides to do an uptrend. This one of the strongest early predictions with the way the market has been consolidating. So bitcoin testing the $65k is simply just bitcoin doing its thing

My question is, does the Strait of Hormuz has a control in the movement of bitcoin?
Direct? No, but because Bitcoin is a speculative asset, it will react to any news around the world, specially if it will involved geo-political news like this one. Or any financial news like the economic index of US. Speculators see the opening or at least when their is a ceasefire between US and Iran a positive sign that's why the prices did go up. Particularly if the price goes down, as they see this as a indicator that peace might be achieved and when there is war the market remains relatively calm and investors are more willing to put their money. Unlike when there is a lot of uncertainty, they are reluctant as they don't want to lose their investment.

No, it doesn't have because before the war in Iran that has led to the blockage of the Strait of Hormones, bitcoin price has been behaving this way because it's a volatile asset. The little pump doesn't mean that it was because, the Strait of Hormones was open and I believe that we will still see more dips even with the Strait of Hormones opened. Bitcoin has dipped to $64k+ where it was before the pump to $65k and still the Strait of Hormones is at ease.

You should not be confused by these news, but the Strait of Hormuz has no role in the improvement of Bitcoin prices. And the Iran war has no role in this, Bitcoin prices have been hovering at the same level for a long time. It is touching between $60K and $70K, if you imagine it, you can move towards the holding process of Bitcoin. Because the possibility of Bitcoin prices dumping is very low, so if you can buy Bitcoin and hold it at this time, you will definitely benefit. So it is better to research Bitcoin holding in the future than to research trading.

Well, Strait of Hormuz does not control the price of Bitcoin but it could actually cause a short term price effect since it is also related to the macro economy (just my opinion tho), why I said it's economic related is because a large amount of the world's oil (seaborn) passes through it and so if it is closed, concerns about oil supply will awaken and could cause oil prices to hike, that will give room for inflation and when investors are overly conscious in situations like that, it could have small changes on Bitcoin price, but not that Strait of Hormuz directly cause Bitcoin price to go up or down in the long term. You want a comparison of Bitcoin price when Hormuz was closed and when it was open, according to the information I got, Hormuz disruption started around February, in that month Bitcoin price opened at $79k and fell to $60k. In the month of March, price race to $75k and fell to $65k, Hormuz disruption escalated in that month as well. Iran announced in April that Hormuz is open again, Bitcoin climb to $79k in that month, fast forward to June, another Hormuz threats, Bitcoin feel to $58k. Now, the question you can answer for yourself is; Was the changes in price during those periods just a coincidence to the disruption of Strait of Hormuz since Bitcoin was already on a down trend since late 2025 or did the disruptions with Hormuz actually had little effect on price too?.

No direct effect, but there's something that's really bugging me if there's ever peace again in the Strait of Hormuz.
I believe many investors switched to buying oil instead of Bitcoin because of the sudden fluctuation upward of oil. Now, if there's peace again and everything subsides on the oil market, we might see those investors back in Bitcoin, and the proof will be when it pumps again.
Now, there's no proof of that claim, but the fact remains that many eyes went to oil when the prices surged. We will see if something good happens if it goes back to normal. A big "IF".

No, there's zero connection to the Strait of Hormuz and bitcoin's pricing. What it does is that it influences the oil market and then the domino effect. It does have an indirect connection into it but, don't think that everything that happens there will make the price of Bitcoin move because it won't. The thread has served its purpose mate and I think it should be closed.

My question is, does the Strait of Hormuz has a control in the movement of bitcoin?
Not at all but it's likely to affect bitcoin price for at least a short time since the Strait of Hormuz control oil money and bitcoin is money too.
Iran and US can never come to meaningful conclusion. For how many decades now they have been meeting and signing agreement, it's enough already to have come into a meaningful conclusion if that's possible. The highest they can do is to agree to disagree and let each other be because the issue between has escalated and solving it completely does not rely on both of them alone again. The good thing is that their war has become often and irrelevant in the Bitcoin market but still have a strong effect on oil movement.

You have made a very nice point at the ending of your post "that you do not bother about such news as long as you are not thinking of trading or gambling your bitcoin". I think most times news, war etc can actually influence bitcoin price and i have also seen it but as an investor that has a plan to hold bitcoin for a long term these kind of things should not dismay you or make you panic or even make one go as far as selling their bitcoin because it will be their loss and guess what, the price may even skyrocket immediately one sell off their bitcoin.

--- My question is, does the Strait of Hormuz has a control in the movement of bitcoin?
Directly? No, but any news that's related to the US-Iran war could have an effect towards Bitcoin and the global market, and we just saw it happen AGAIN. I feel sad for those people who relies on these news. Bitcoin reacts to the news because for investors, they believe that it's a bullish news, and if the sentiment is bullish, the price will be bullish as well and vice-versa. I'm already at a point where I don't care about these kind of news anymore. I've seen the effect of the US-Iran war on the market. I also saw the effect of Strategy selling 32 BTC on the market. I also saw the market tumbled when Trump is saying anything about tariffs that it came to a point where the market goes down just by him saying the word "tariffs". Those show one thing. Bitcoin and the crypto market is still a fragile market where it's price could be affected by just some random news out there. The longer the war will be, the lesser the effect on it on the crypto market, but the only one that will be heavily affected by this is the oil market.
