Op, i understand your concerns, I still wonder why you did not think of the fact that miners could relocate if electricity becomes a problem to them, or is relocation also impossible? We will be concluding that Bitcoin is at high rusks of collapse only if the challenge of energy consumption is global that miners cannot fit in no matter where they relocate to. There is no need for panics, the problem of electricity has a solution.
Any area that does not have electricity for mining bitcoin may eventually not have electricity for the Internet. I know people on this forum already experiencing daily blackouts lasting many hours. My overall point always has been - you can trade gold but you cannot trade bitcoin unless you have a) power b) internet c) economy. If the banks run out of cash, what will you trade your bitcoin for?
Its like with all the recent fires everywhere - imagine building a state of the air fire suppression system without energy backup - your house will burn.
Internet and power outage may disrupt the mining operation, but it cannot kill or the reason of the collapsed of Bitcoin. It can possibly limit the access of people temporarily, but also what we also need to know that Bitcoin does not rely on one country or city.
So as long as there are miner and nodes running in other parts of the world, the network will continue or remain alive.
Maybe you are overthinking about those possibilities, but Bitcoin will provably here to stay for many more decades.
