A question about Jossque

Yesterday he created a sigban appeal thread where he was defending himself very poorly, CryptoYar style, and when I asked him this:

We've seen this same story play out here before. By the way, how did you manage to earn so many merits with such shitposting?

He replied this

They're all related to the projects and airdrops I've shared

Then locked the thread and sent it to archival.

It looks very suspicious to me but going through his post history I can't see anything definitive. The account doesn't seem to have changed hands. Just posts on the local board and the same rubbish on the gambling sections thorough all the post history but they seem to me too many merits for such an account.

Anyone seeing something I can't see here?

Aren't some of the local boards accused of sharing merits amongst their members helping each other rank up? Maybe that's happening here? I don't really pay attention to most of these low ranked accounts unloess an obvious scam appears to be happening. Got more important things to do then waste time on them.

They’ve earned a lot of merit for posts that wouldn’t be earning merit in the global boards. There’s nothing necessarily wrong in how they’ve earned it, but perhaps it’s a good argument for why the merit system should be reworked.

It is far too easy to earn merit and rank up in some local boards, which leads to some bigger problems, like accounts using their farm to vote for themselves in contests.

Not suspicious, it just lack further explanation / details because the discussion on the thread itself is somehow heated. He’s probably just pissed, nothing more.

It looks very suspicious to me but going through his post history I can't see anything definitive.

To me, he looks like just another gambling board shitposter who is also farming merit via the local board (2743 out of the 2747 merits he received came from there). Sig ban very well deserved.

I also like how in that appeal thread he claimed that he doesn't use AI, while it's pretty obvious that he used it to write the thread.

• 47% of the other account's merit comes from this account

Maybe it is worth taking a closer look at what happened here and how. There are definitely reasons to look into this... I'll just leave this here.

Maybe im dumb or blind, but I have only found vague or limited information about it, or lists that are out of date.

Yes, he is. That would be quite normal, then. It’s something theymos encourages – having activity on the local boards, and designating merit sources for that purpose. I am one of them.

He’s probably just pissed, nothing more.

If you talk about the @Jossque account, there are two things that make you suspicious about Jossque.
1. Account has changed hands/account has been sold.
2. About Achievements/Merits in the Local section.


From the evidence I see, @Jossque, currently has (225 pages of posts)

On the next page Jossque, on October 08, 2022, I see he used the address below in the campaign, he registered from the beginning until now in about 50 different campaigns.

Usually, when an account changes hands or is sold to someone, the main and final addresses are changed/changed, but in @Jossque's case I don't see that happening, the initial address he created the account for is still the same in use, meaning the account hasn't changed hands.


Talking about Merit, local cases of merit transfer often occur, between Alt accounts, relatives, friends and so on.

Although, currently I don't have strong evidence about Alt between @Jossque in terms of Merit, but I suspect, @Jossque has an Alt account in this case, I see there are transactions flowing with addresses belonging to @Jossque with accounts that provide Merit.

Oh, it turns out that there are still threads like this in other locals, the last time I saw one was in my own locality, but I strongly oppose such a thread and I asked my moderator here to close it and it was finally closed.

Such threads are very easy to misuse by account farms. It is only enough to make as many perfunctory posts as possible. Then send a link to that thread and get the merit of reaching 50+, ooh my god.

Hi Bro... Where would I find the most generous Merit Source on this Reputation Board, to give 30 merits in posts that were created with high effort. Lol

I don't think the system needs to be reworked, just a reckless Merit Source that needs to be replaced.
Actually, this is a good opportunity to uncover cheating in that local section. Do we need to work on it?

To identify a Merit Source, just look: if the merit received is lower than the merit sent, it can be confirmed that the user is a Merit Source.
