Honestly, trying to time the market or keep track of all these shifting trends and project announcements right now feels like an absolute rollercoaster. Navigating market sentiment and analyzing tokenomics without getting burned takes a ton of patience. Has anyone here actually seen a project manage to hold steady long-term through these cycles, or are we all just riding the volatility wave at this point?
Confidence is built through stacking up and holding with zero expectations (market timing) this is the reason why you see people not really worried about how volatile everything is, whether we are moving up or down it’s counted to the benefit of the holders.

Anyways, the thread is actually talking about the trigger in the price surge but however what op is trying to point out as the trigger is really not what triggered bitcoin price move for me but just the right moment for bitcoin and then the catalyst happened which is not this exactly but this added to it too though but not just the whole catalyst, a lot happened with it.

Could this news be one of the triggers to Bitcoin price rise this week?
Am I stupid or does this announcement not have any thing to do with Bitcoin but rather with Altcoins instead?  If that is the case then I do not see how the announcement and the price rise could be correlated?

It does sound a bit like they are somehow connected. But we could chalk that up to coincidence as well... Are there any other signs that Trump and this news is connected? If we had a bit more proofit I would strike coincidence from the table. But I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Nothing positive has come from the SEC when it comes to cryptocurrency and I am not enthusiastic about what they have planned. I would not trust them to implement any kind of regulations that actually benefit the people.

We hated Jeremy from day but I think it would make sense why Jeremy Powel and Donald Trump never had good relationship. They are making a proposal, how about a proposal to arrest Trump family first with the underground crypto jerk cycle they are doing. I guess they are immune and the rest of US crypto investors don't have privileges that's why they want to make a proposal that will frustrate projects, meanwhile they are yet to make a proposal on what the house is doing.

I'm also wondering why Bitcoin is even involved in this, this has been long discussed that Bitcoin is not a security, not a project. It's a digital commodity. If there should be a concern, the rest of the crypto are supposed to be worried on what comes next. Beside, projects crowd funding is questionable, they is something wrong about the process. You see millions raised on projects only to be abandoned. Trump family raised millions upon millions only to launched a token later, yielded nothing.

What may have caused the change of mind for the SEC? Could this news be one of the triggers to Bitcoin price rise this week? With the progress of this legislation can it be expected to get to a permanent law
As the news already stated, it's focused on crypto offering, you can guess what kind of exemption it'll be. Although bitcoin price has risen, I do believe it has nothing to do with this news. The SEC is talking about altcoins/tokens offering I suppose.

The startup exemptions allows for offering up to $5 million over four year period, they want to give clearer fundraising paths in the US for altcoins, to keep those projects from operating offshore. I believe part of it because they've seen how successful the WLFI raise was. In short, they want to boost crypto adoption and kickstart crypto business within the US but not especially talking about bitcoin.

Could this news be one of the triggers to Bitcoin price rise this week?

Exactly. This announcement talks about altcoin project fundraising and possibly RWAs.

I also think the same, I don't think that there's anything related to Bitcoin in the announcement so Bitcoin's price rise has nothing to do with that SEC's announcement. The announcement is useful for many crypto people who live in US as they can now get funds for their projects but I don't think that it has anything special for Bitcoin holders/investors. This announcement is useful for startups only and for fundraising but there's nothing for Bitcoin community in it.

Most portfolios end up looking like a complete graveyard of hype cycles because very few protocols actually build sustainable utility before the liquidity dries up. It feels like 99 percent of them rely purely on endless circular token incentives rather than generating real protocol revenue that can actually weather a prolonged winter.

And here is a controversial catch from me asking, if Powell was still the SEC Chair, do you think this crypto regulatory rule would have gotten to this stage?
Powell was never the SEC chair. He was the Fed chair. You probably mean Gensler, right? Anyway bro, he had good intentions with BTC, and he proved to be a well educated person in the subject of BTC, and he values it even, but what he did not like was the idea of other alts, which he considered securities, and that's for a reason.

So I don't think the kind of adoption for alts that has been paved by the current administration would have been paved in the era of Gensler, but there is always a time which comes to an end for the higher and lower powers both.

So don't be selfish and do something to stay in power all the time. Accept the time's defeat. I would not say this act by the SEC was the reason for the pump, because since Gensler has resigned and Atkins has replaced him, I have not found a single pumping news that came from the SEC, or maybe that's because we are in a bear market.

OP if you paid more attention, the crypto initiative by SEC actually exist to push crypto startup within the US and after this they will ultimately carve path for domestic tokenized stock trading for US citizen and this announcement isn't about btc unfortunately.

They decided to bypass congress because the bill stalled and Clarity Act is on a gridlock, they need something faster because SEC under the new chairman Paul Atkin is comitted to crypto since the first day he's taking office and Paul Atkins himself was chosen by POTUS to lead the SEC with 52-44 vote and you know how much Trump want the bill to pass, so they had to find another way.

We all know Trump has made a lot of money from crypto and has also received donations from the industry to finance his campaign. Midterm elections are also coming up. While having pro-crypto policies may not directly increase support for Republicans, it does help with raising money.

The idea of policy being influenced by corporate funding may be controversial, but if you want to look at the glass half full, I do see how this benefits crypto. The market has obviously reacted positively. Crypto being exempt from certain outdated securities regulations is an improvement from previous administrations, including Trump’s first term.

Trump as a President of the USA, which is a nation with democracy, will not be able to do everything he individually wants. He can say or do things or want to do things as pro-crypto policies but whatever he want to do, be able to do before the midterm election in the USA, as well as remaining two years in his Presidency will only be part of Bitcoin history.

Bitcoin is here to stay and will be longer than Trump presidency, and any effects even negative from Trump's remaining presidency will not long lasting. He will leave the White House, other Presidents will lead the USA in coming years, and Bitcoin will stay here with them, with us.
