You'll have to follow instructions in Recovering hacked/lost accounts, posting here doesn't help you. That being said, Xmrhopium deleted most of their posts and it doesn't look like someone who wanted to come back: Bitcoin address: this person is dead. Other contact info: this person is dead.

You shouldn't mention your account here because you risk seeing it tagged by some members for just suspicions of being a dormant account linked to a sigban or a banned account. Otherwise, do some search in the forum and you will find the answer.

This post should ideally be on Meta, so move it to that board.
Secondly, you need to tell us the full story. Did your account get hacked, or did you just sell it? Your password was changed in January, and a lot of posts were deleted. There is surely no way anyone serious about the account security would wait for that long (8 months) to attempt to recover their account. Something is fishy.
Follow the account recovery instructions, but you may need proof to show that you are the original account owner.

Not that he may need prove, he need prove because it is required to know if he is the owner of the account. He is lucky if he has signed a message with his bitcoin address before and if he still has the wallet or he can prove to be him if he has PGP public key that only his private key can be used to sign a message.

If this poster is the original account owner, he or she will not have to care about that. If you have all necessary proofs for taking your account back, for full ownership back, it's necessary steps to do for account recovery. With a situation of new owner of the account, by either account purchase or hack, your advice makes sense. Because it's impossible to prove the original ownership while the account will be investigated further, then more negative trust feedbacks will be painted on the account. Forum account: security, privacy, and recovery.

As far as I remember, he once deleted all his posts because he was offended that someone advised him to be more careful with accusing people who, in his opinion, are using AI. After that, he promised to quit forever. Has your “punishment ” ended, OP? https://bitlist.co/post/66252577

You are responsible for forgetting your account password and deleting your posts. Several months ago I noticed that you completely left the forum. If I am not mistaken, lovesmayfamilis gave you advice on something that you could not take normally. The incident probably happened in this thread (AI Spam Report Reference Thread). You then claimed that you would not come to the forum again and deleted all the posts in anger and jealousy within a few minutes. Anyway, I just want to know what happened to you after all this time that you feel that everyone in the forum misses you?

What an idiot! He has behaved like the kind of man who would still go after his Ex-wife after a bitter divorce. Based on what he has portrayed in the past I don't think it's the kind of person with laudable emotional intelligence And how does a person who has been in the forum for a while not know how to recover an account/

Hello I have forget my password how I can get my account back please help.
Is the text not very clear to you? And the account also states that the person behind it is dead. That's quite confusing, actually. You should be able to explain that.

That's the problem. How can he verify if he actually owns this account since all of his posts are nearly zero with no posted address? This might be just a bluff or someone who taking opportunity to steal an account; they thought they can easily take advantage of that account. By checking his account on BPIP, the password was change last January 2026; the only chances to recover his account is to verify this stake address: 1sTASh13cTQeav95t4jbzNBMApMSoegtv This address does not exist anymore on his posts history but is archived on Bitlist. If he can verify this, there's a chance to recover it. And the account also states that the person behind it is dead. That's quite confusing, actually. You should be able to explain that.
Are you sure the owner is dead? Where did you get that message?

Are you sure the owner is dead? Where did you get that message? When you check the profile. Under bitcoin address and other contact info, the person behind the account added a text "this person is dead." Maybe they thought that they would never ever need the forum account again, this being a very short-sighted decision or someone is trying to take over the account.

His posts are archived on some websites and the most common and most useful one for us is bitlist.co. These are the posts of the user: https://bitlist.co/user/id/3674660/posts?date_min=2018-01-24&date_max=2026-08-20&limit=20&page=1But I do not know if he staked his address before leaving the forum. With what some people have posted, I also think the person controlling the account does not have anything to do with the account anymore.

I don’t even know why xmrhopium decided to ragequit the forum. He was right about this user using AI. Is being a Legendary user now just only a rank on the forum? new year, new trick, mucho laziness this "Legendary" rank user Ayers spamming the forum with AI contents. There was also some other good reports from xmrhopium that might have been useful in the future, but they deleted almost their entire history, leaving people wondering if there was something they were trying to hide.

There’re sometimes that we make some irrational decisions out of anger or something related , but at the end it can make us look stupid . Op case, has two probabilities… It’s either they sold their account and instead of just resetting the password for the new owner [which will definitely look suspicious], they decide to pull this off which is less suspicious. Or OP truly lost access to their account .. yeah, it’s possible they destroyed all credentials after they deleted their post and claim the owner is dead. But now, they changed their mind and feel like coming back.

If your English is this bad, and this is how you normally write, then I am suspicious that Xmrhopium is actually your account. I mean, I checked Xmrhopium old posts on https://loyce.club/archive/members/367/3674660.html, and his English is perfectly fine there(at least for me), so there is no way that Xmrhopium went from writing English like that to writing English like yours.

Maybe OP suffered a stroke, as that could explain his absence and his much worse English than before. (Bad) joke aside, it will be interesting to hear how he went from that level of English to this "me Tarzan, you Jane" level that he is at now.

But this is not the first time we are seeing a come back like this This reminds me of 1mieu case. It's possible for one to make regrettable decision when they're angry or excited as the case may be. Things changed when their eyes are clear and may wish to reverse the initial decision. But that's definitely not the case here. Op doesn't look like the right owner of the account he claimed to have forgotten the password. The writing style shows he's not intelligent as the real owner. I don't know it's possible for someone to just wake up and start claiming someone's account just like that. Op do you really think you'd be given access to the account for just saying it belongs to you without any proof?

OP the only way you can recover your account is if you still have access to the email you used to create the account. If you still have access to the email then it is very simple to recover your account and set new password, so my question for you is that do you still have access to the email you used in openings this account you're talking about? If yes then just click on the forgotten password option you see below when trying to login and follow the instructions.
If you don't have access to the email, I don't think you can recover your account.
