Help with multibit

I imported a private key from my old computer and it's now in the same wallet as the new generated address, can I somehow remove the newly generated address and just keep the imported address?

Export the priv keys for that wallet.

Then create a .key file using notepad, and save as whateveryouwant.key (Make sure the only priv key in the new .key is the one you want to use)

Open multibit, click File- Load/new wallet/something like that (I am at work, I dont remember what the option is)

Open the new .key file you created with just the one priv key

It should open a new wallet with just that address in it.

Nope, your comment didn't help at all, I'm switching to Bitcoin Core

I would recommend switching.  Multibit has a bug, which took almost .5 btc from me.  The dev just ignores it.  Apparently since its only .5, its not a huge issue to him.

I am going to go back to blockchain.info.  It is online, but you have your private keys also, if needed.

Na'a, people's wallet got hacked before on Blockchain.info

Use 2FA, and a strong password.  I know of ZERO people who have lost money there, unless they were careless and had a keylogger, weak pass, etc.

Blockchain.info with 2FA is okay, but it is safer to use an offline wallet, especially if you have a significant amount of bitcoin.

Blockchain is different from inputs.io. In blockchain your wallet is encrypted you are the only one who can accessed it. If blockchain is down you can import the blockchain backup using another wallet. Blockchain is lightyears ahead of inputs.io
