One thing that should be noted here is that they said direct or indirect send or receive, so it's very likely that it's not just about sending crypto assets from these platforms to binance but it could also mean that using a third party wallet in-between one of these restricted platforms and binance can still lead to problems for you or at least that's my interpretation of the 'indirectly' there and passing the asset through a few different platforms before getting to binance doesn't offer a way to cut corners but will instead make the chances of an appeal (if at all possible) or the compliance review even more complicated.
But if you've made a transaction before these dates then you are save, just don't be pushed to make one after the deadlines, if you want to move your assets to Binance then for the platforms whose dates have already passed you will have to reconsider, but for the ones that are yet to come, those ones that will happen 2 days from today, you can still move your assets now before that deadline.

You didn't  see the thread about it for almost a week already? Chibit01 was faster than the so called Binance noti. itself. Although, i think it may just be taking effect, starting from the date those mails  were sent to all their customers which I believe is today 21 of August.

Hopefully no one makes dumb mistakes once again  Tongue

There's no need for extra thread , It's not also an off topic so just lock it .

I say make I bring this news come here. Binance to block transactions with HTX, 10 other exchanges under EU Russia sanctions

Discussion can continue here :
Quote
Restrictions on Shelbit and Aban Tether Exchange took effect August 7, while A7 Nigeria, A7 Africa and PilotFinance Ltd. were cut off as of August 13.

Beginning August 23, the list expands to include Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto, Tradex, Monease, BitPapa, Exnode/Exnode Pay, HTX (Huobi Global SA) and EXMO Ltd.

A lot of people here are still making use of Binance even as they don't support NGN in their P2P again. This news shared above is for awareness purposes of some of the exchanges which have been rejected by Binance from receiving deposit or sending payment in their due to EU sanction, some of us might be using those exchanges, as I personally make use of one on the list, to avoid sending money from one of them, and it turns to issue that might lead to permanent losing of the money is better to take caution.

I think this is something we should all pay attention to, especially beginners. Sometimes we just focus on sending the funds to the right address and forget that the platform or service we are dealing with also matters. It’s probably a good idea to check the current rules before sending or receiving funds, so we don’t run into problems later.

I also got this email and to be frank I didn’t understand clearly what they met and I know they were talking about not associating themselves with the said coins and projects but I wish someone can explain it more plainly

I agree with you and most times we also need to verify with the exchanges we intend using especially when the coins we are dealing with are not the very obvious one and incases like this, I always advise people to swap their coins to the obvious one especially the stable ones.

I did on the thread I mentioned above, which  means you didn't go through it but this is it anyway :
This is important.

You forget to add this part  from same source :
"The move follows the EU’s sanctioning of HTX in July for allegedly helping Russia circumvent sanctions, in part by allegedly providing financial services for A7 Limited Liability Company, a Russia-linked cross-border payments firm, seemingly connected to A7 Nigeria and A7 Africa.

Nearly every firm blocked by Binance, outside of Shelbit and Aban, was also named in the EU’s updated sanctions list. The EU accused these entities of "frustrating" restrictions related to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
"

In bold is the reason why they were also sanctioned, before it was only HTX,A7 Nigeria and A7 Africa. You may want to watch out for other exchanges operating under EU , not only Binance .

I hope it's clear enough.

I think parking funds in self-custody wallets before depositing them into Binance would also be considered "indirectly". At this point, they haven't clarified exactly how many transfers constitute an "indirectly" transaction.

Despite being a vigilant and aware of their rules before sending, they can modify the rules they have already set.

But it's good to raise awareness before doing the deposit with Binance or with any other centralized exchanges.

I think if someone is just there to trade and does with the little they have, it shouldn't be a problem at all. It only becomes alarming and could cause panic when a user receives this message uses centralized exchanges as their vault.

It looks like even the known coin HTX and others from the list above is going to be delisted soon.
According to some news, the reason why they are going to delist them is because of the AML, and now Binance restricted those coins and complies with international sanctions imposed by the EU, UK, and the US.

Those coins, according to them, are involved in money laundering, which is the reason why those coins are going to be listed soon this coming August 3.
This shouldn't be a problem if you know the news, but for those not aware of the news, you will end up getting restricted or freezing your account once you receive those coins directly to your Binance account.

It only becomes alarming and could cause panic when a user receives this message uses centralized exchanges as their vault.
By vault, you mean using them to store most of their funds? That sounds like another terrible mistake. We should probably discourage them if we can communicate with them instead, whether there's an ongoing blacklist process or not.

If people are using multiple exchanges to trade and whatnot, I'd expect them to keep up to date with the latest news from every exchanges they're involved with. I doubt a newbie would go as far as trading on various exchanges to hunt for spreads. Even if they're just into crypto, they probably know one or two thing about how the market behaves from forex or other platforms.

It's pretty obvious about what they meant by "indirectly," and yes, parking funds in self-custody wallets before depositing them into Binance or withdrawing from Binance to a self-custody wallet that will later deposit on to one of the platforms is what they say should not also be done

It's probably only HTX that has a coin, and at this point, It wasn't even trading on Binance. I don't think other exchanges will even bother delisting it. It will be like the Tonado cash saga

Yep, it's not a secret that there users who uses binance and other exchanges as their vault. And with the recent cold card hack, they think it's better to use them like that even it's not.

If we see someone does that, we can remind them. But there are those who doesn't like to get any correction from other people who are concerned on them.

They're going to learn the lesson eventually and what they believe is wrong. It might work for them right now because it's not causing them trouble but, that time will come and they'll panic when it does.

Since when is a topic in a local board more important than one in the general section?
Who the f word made you a mod here?
You know there are more companies on that list that operate outside of the entire African continent than within?

According to some news, the reason why they are going to delist them is because of the AML,

They are going to delist every product from Huobi since the entire company and it's subsidiaries are on the sanctions list, they are one step ahead of asset freezing so nobody wants to deal with that.

That wasn't  the case here  Smiley.

OP created the thread on Naija Local board at first, that was when I post alll those two comments on this thread . I guess it's because of my comment (which you also quoted) that made him move it to the beginners and help board.  He's probably avoiding the fact that the thread can be locked and moved to off-topic on the LB.

Now you owe me an apology  Grin

This was such a bad reply that you managed to get on my Ignore list, which I barely ever use.

But there are those who doesn't like to get any correction from other people who are concerned on them.

They're going to learn the lesson eventually and what they believe is wrong. It might work for them right now because it's not causing them trouble but, that time will come and they'll panic when it does.
And?  Let them bite the bullet if that is what they are really looking for.

We have no choice for them, after all of the reminders that we're giving to them.

It's only a matter of time for all of these people who still does it after hearing the reminders out that they'll get the lesson.

And the realization knocks at the end of it always. So, they'll experience it first before realizing that they were wrong.
