Those that are new in this forum can’t actually know all the forum rules at once, the longer you stay in this forum the more you know the rules very well.

‎If you are new here don’t put too much pressure on yourself to know everything at once, just take it one step at a time.
‎The longer you stay here the more things you will know.

‎We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance.

‎When I newly joined this forum I didn’t know all the rules, but the longer I stayed the more familiar those rules were to me.

‎I will encourage those that are new in this forum to always visit the meta and reputation board, some cases over there will help you know what you should do or not do in this forum
‎This advice is not for beginners alone even some older members in this forum, because I believe some older members still don’t know all the rules.

‎Lastly try to read the pinned posts in every board you visit

I think it would have been very convenient if you had shared Lauda's thread Newbies - Read before posting in your opening post, which is required reading, but otherwise I agree with you. And I appreciate you writing this when you already have some experience, and not just after signing up, as is common lately on this board: you know meta and reputation, they may not be the most appropriate sections for a newbie to write, but they are for reading and learning a lot about this place.

What is the purpose of this topic? Please think about it yourself and see that this topic is not necessary at all.

We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance.
If anyone violated the forum rules, the person will not be blamed but he will face the consequences. Example is anyone that plagiarized, the person will be banned. If the person post repeatedly on a thread without any other people posting, his post will be merged and so on.

I do not think that the problem is in the pressure on beginners, but rather in alt accounts that claim to be new members (it is easy to notice because of the style of their posts).

welcome message was a necessary procedure, but the forum rules are easy and clear:

 - Avoid posting virus/malware links.
 - Avoid plagiarism.

Lastly try to read the pinned posts in every board you visit
It's a first thing to do, not the last thing and you are wrong by teaching newbies like this.

This thread is another pointless thread, similar to this following thread.
Use the search function before creating a thread.

There are pinned threads to read, and people don't read, just create new threads about nothing new while new threads are even worse than existing threads.

As a bigginer or a newbie wanting to learn everything at once would be so cumbersome on you, and for this reason it is necessary to learn with ease by learning step by step. Many members here started as newbies, and must have made one error or the other, butthe truth is that as a beginner, you should be courageous to learn, and you should also be able to yield to advice, amd instructions of this platform, and by so doing you won't receive any negative remark. When I joined this forum initially, many mistakes was made as a newbie then, though everyone here does not give correction  in the same toon, while some correction was very harsh on me, some other member were very mild in their correction, but because I was willing to learn all the correction was to make me fit for this very platform . So reading the forum rules is very necessary as beginner, and also be very much willing to learn.

I agree with you that the forum rule is actually easy and clear to understand just like the once you mentioned, however there some rules or things that newbies may not actually know at the beginning like AI rules, using translator to post in another local board, cheating on contest, posting things that are not verified, begging of merit, creating thread recently created by another member, spamming, buying of account, etc.

I think the desire to grow fast make some newbies miss out on some certain things they should know.

I do not think there are too many rules that take time to study and understand in Bitcointalk. I am a member of different forums, I assure you that here has a lot of freedom and flexibility of rules.

As Hugeblack mentioned above, even without rules, everyone should have known from high school that it is wrong to pass other people's knowledge as yours(plagerism). It is also wrong to post bad links in a forum... To me, these are not even rules, they are ethics that everyone should learn even before joining a forum.

I would have agreed with you, if you said " You can't actually know everything about bitcoin at once" and not about rules that will take few minutes to be studied.

Those that are new in this forum can’t actually know all the forum rules at once, the longer you stay in this forum the more you know the rules very well.
Some rules of the forum are what we frown upon in society. Newbies don't need anyone to tell them to not cheat in the forum. A cheater is not allowed here and in society.

‎We shouldn’t be too harsh on newbies for breaking some simple rules in this forum because some of them actually broke the rule out of ignorance.
Most members of the forum suspect a beginner account to be an alt account. That is where the harshness on newbies starts from.

So you mean that it is not easy for newbies to know that cheating in contests is very wrong? It is just like saying children do not know that if they put their hand in fire, it will hurt them.

Although, I did not see anywhere on the rules about cheating a contest. So no one will be banned for cheating in contests, but such person's account and his known alts are going to be given negative feedback and which is normal.

Translators and AI rules are clearly stated and which should not be hard to understand.

most of the (un)official rules of bitcointalk can be seen as standard rules of an online forum - somewhat more similar to the old netiquette.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 just have a seen here. I would not find impossible for newbies to follow it.
mostly would be "intuitive" but I would understand that a new user coming from a social network platform could find somewhat confusing a "freedom approach" that has still some rules to follow.

Obviously its so wrong to cheat in the contest. There are several people already got caught doing that. The common issue with those newbies is they didn't think about the possible consequences of the actions they have done.

They are to focus winning and do those things what they think give them an advantage to their competitors. But for sure they know what they are doing, since its simple to think about that they are not following the rules anymore and also they provably aware that they are already cheating.

There are lots of information and discussion happening about the usage of Ai and those automatic translation. If they cheat for thinking that they could grow fast doing it then there's a chance that their account might get compromised first and their account will not grow.

Yes, it is definitely important to know the basic rules of this forum, because if you make a mistake in this forum, you will have to be punished for that mistake. So if you can keep yourself away from copy-pasting, stealing other people's information, transaction warnings, and bad postings, you will definitely be able to move forward correctly. And there are more unique things that you can learn from spending time on this forum for a long time while surviving on your own.
So it is most important for each person to gain knowledge about these basic things, so it is most important to know about the posts pinned on each board.

This forum has many rules that are very difficult to grasp all at once, especially for newcomers who have just joined. Most importantly, you need the willingness without putting undue pressure on yourself to learn by investing time in reading the topics pinned in the "Beginners & Help" board, as well as other key topics across various boards, to gain insight into the forum rules and guidelines. They also need to visit the Reputation board more frequently to view examples of violations, so they can learn from the mistakes made by other users.

No one starts at the Hero or Legendary rank and immediately understands all the rules upon joining, because reaching that level and grasping everything takes time and a process. Having a post deleted, feeling confused, or receiving a warning or correction is natural given the limitations of one's knowledge. Treat it all as part of the learning process. After all, today's experiences and minor mistakes are what shape us into better forum members in the future.

You may not know everything truly, but you can help your situation for better by knowing all about the forum rules and regulations on this platform, what we have in mind is going to be our first priority target, if you decided to go by the way of the rules, then you will see that it is nothing to disturb us from being aware of them all, but what we may needed is compliance and also frequent reminder and that is all.

We have the same thing in common OP, I made a lot of mistakes when I was a newbie on this forum, some that I am even ashamed of after I was corrected, I have ignored rules and just went ahead with what I have in mind.

Thankfully I was corrected in a harsh way and also ease ways, I took some personal and learnt from it, some members can be annoying on this forum but at the same time it's how they know to correct someone.

I've been on this forum for many months before I even decided to reading the forum's rules.

One of the things a beginners on this platform should do is to read the rules no doubt, but they should learn how to read and digest some of the opinions of senior members of the forum, especially when it comes to Bitcoin discussion topics, it is what you read to understand that will shape your thinking and your ability to understand the functionality of Bitcoin and even the forum. You can just take out time to read previous posts that have been made concerning sensitive topics, all of these is to help you build a foundation of knowledge. Sometimes new topics can be posted, instead of reading to reply the post, you might need to wait just a little to see the opinions of senior members on that subject matter, though sometimes it's still good to reply, this is because, hence you make a statement that is not entirely true, somebody else might just correct you on that.

Those that are new in this forum can’t actually know all the forum rules at once, the longer you stay in this forum the more you know the rules very well.
You can't know the rules and regulations of forum once you register and start posting..the rules of forum can stick to the brain of newbie if the newbie study the rules of the forum first..they're people who uses one month to make search of forum before posting and they're the one that keeps the rules of forum....

A newbie that's interested in learning what the forum is all about, will not be in hurry to know everything at a time..but those that's already here, that create alt account, they're the one that always put pressure in order to start having a signature subscription...

I norms nobody is above law, anyone who registered here is expected to read the terms and conditions of this community before doing anything...so in forum rules nobody is exempted...

Well, you can't know everything at once, but the reason why most genuine beginners find it very difficult to know the forum rules is actually because they don't read those pinned threads on the beginners and help board.

I'm also among those who didn't visit those pinned threads immediately when I joined the forum; it took me a few weeks before I checked them to learn the rules of the forum and other necessary information. Failing to check those pinned threads will definitely get you into such a mess because you might one day go against the rules of the forum if you don't know the rules.

What I'm trying to say right now is that you can't know the rules unless you check those threads, and secondly, you need to do more reading than posting because it will also help you to understand the forum. Lastly, you shouldn't take any abuse of words personally if you really want to learn here. I noticed most genuine beginners quit the forum because they don't like when people abuse them or correct them harshly, so you can't learn if you don't know how to grow a thick skin.

I'm not sure why this looks like you are defending here instead of making awareness for newbies, there is nothing like ignorance to law. If a person that is new to an environment is admitted to a school, the rules will be hand over and it's their responsibility to know these rules. It's up to you if you decide to learn about them or ignore but the very day you break any of them, you are going to face the consequences. By the way, who doesn't know that cheating is a bad thing to do, it's a society culture and norm not to cheat.

In all my years around academics, I have not seen anywhere an AI is endorsed. Maybe they will change things in the future but for now, it's inappropriate to write with AI. So if your academic environment does not like AI to be used to write and source for information, why do you think that its going to be okay in the forum. Somethings are common sense, you don't need to be told before you know what's good, been ignorant will lead you nowhere.
