As per CMC, Bitcoin is now up around 22% in the last 7 days. That kind of pump I have not seen for the past months, as mostly Bitcoin was just staying below $70k.

But now it is pumping, and it has been over 24 hours already and still looks very consistent. Honestly, I would not even be surprised if it will hit $80k again.

This is just my observation, but it seems Bitcoin really becomes bullish most of the time in the last quarter of the year.

Anyway, how do you see this? Is this already the bull run that we have been waiting for, or just another pump? Give some technical aspects or justification if you have too, let us understand this.

I don't think so, this can be only a bull trap, even many peoples were saying this maybe this is not the bull trap becuase when bitcoin was in 68k/69k poeple took shorts on the future trade and liquidated but this cann't proved that this pump is not the bull trap even if bitcoin goes up to 85k I will still say this as a bull trap.

And will also say bitcoin will be down in the near future to create the bear bottom price, becuase I don't think 58k would be the bear bottom price, the bull run we have been waiting for will start after the next halving I mean after the 2028

What I see is that you don't understand much about bull runs.

You've been registered on the forum since 2016, and you're starting a thread to ask if being down 10% for the year counts as a bull run? The price increase we've seen could be the beginning of a recovery, but we can't really call it a bull run until the price surpasses the previous ATH. Technically speaking, and if you look at the chart for the year, we're currently at a first resistance level around $80K. If that level is breached, the next one would be $100K, although I expect that to be much harder to break through—even though it wouldn't be the first time that price has been surpassed.

We are not yet in a bullrun, the price of Bitcoin just appreciated, it doesn’t mean that we are already in the bullrun..It can be said to be in the bullrun when theirs i high resistance bands in the price, approximately from 85k and above, so at this point Bitcoin price is still fluctuating and it can't be confirmed as a bullrun...

Yes, based on the historical market cycle, this isn't the bull run we're waiting for. It looks more like another, possibly bigger trap.

That said, we don't have enough evidence to say for sure that this is a bull trap. There's no guarantee that history will keep repeating itself without any changes.

Honestly, I still lean toward this being a short term recovery, but I wouldn't rule out the opposite scenario either.
Market is unpredictable, so being prepared for both scenario is more important than trying to predict exactly which direction it will take.

The momentum seems to be decent so far. We saw the rise from about $64k all the way to $79k and then we had a correction which keeps the rise healthy by bringing the price down only a little to $75k. If the trend continues like this, the next resistance we are going to test this coming week is going to be $80k and if that is broken, then the next leg up can be even bigger because that kind of "resistance breaking" will bring in a lot more money due to their returned confidence in bitcoin's near future rises...

The price push happened suddenly, and I never expected it to hold its ground within $75k. After it had reached $79k before dropping down, I was expecting it to go below that level, since few people were calling the growth a trap, but because of the way it has remained stagnant within $77k there is more chances that the next move will be upward and we might likely go above $80k

Being stagnant after a big rise that happened suddenly after a long accumulation (sideways) trend is a perfectly natural thing. We can call it the denial phase.

Just check the "sentiment" topics in this board. Since price hasn't been rising for a long time, we can see many users expected the price to not rise or some who expected a bear market. So when there is a sudden rise and we enter a bull run, at first they deny it is a bull run and want to stick to their old speculation. Therefore they don't enter the market and maybe some of them even take that as a chance to sell their coins (expecting a drop) which is why we see a pause and a small correction.

The "denial phase" seems to be over though considering in the past 5-6 hours the rise is resuming again and we are already testing the $80k resistance.

What is happening now reminds me of Bitcoin’s move up to $83k in early June. Bitcoin also had a strong rally back then, although this recent move has been much stronger and faster. Many people at the time also started believing that bear market was over and a new bull market had begun. But just a few week later, Bitcoin even made a new low at $57k.

The lesson is still there. I dont think people forget that quickly.

Since it's not Bitcoin halving yet, it's likely a bull trap, and I expect the price to take a dip anytime soon. That said, I'm surprised the price of Bitcoin pumped a little bit today despite the ongoing tariff wars between the US and Canada. It pumped from $77k to $79k. It seems the tariff is having little or no effect on the market.

Since it's not Bitcoin halving yet, it's likely a bull trap, and I expect the price to take a dip anytime soon. Yes, even if we just say this a part of manipulation it will also not be wrong. Like when bitcoin was at 69k everyone thought that maybe bitcoin will make a short correction and that is why a huge people traded on short, but the result is  more than $1 billion liquidation in only one hour and in 24h hour we saw around 2.74 billion in liquidation for only short trades.

So I think this was a pure manipulation on market and as well going to be a short term pump and definitely bitcoin will backed into the bear season for creating real bear bottom price, but till now we have to save our self from the FOMO.

Short position on Bitcoin: yes, Bitcoin price has pumped real hard, and a 22% increase in 7 days is something to be celebrated, most especially when Bitcoin spent a long time e in the bear zone.

But don't let the current price achievement get you carried away to think that we may not see Bitcoin below $65k again.

Bitcoin is volatile it may still drop or increase but as we can see the price of bitcoin is increasing gradually even heading to $80k but if the price still go down to $65k it will still be another good opportunity to accumulate bitcoin in a cheap price.
The increase in price of bitcoin is why people shouldn't wait for any dip to buy bitcoin because you can be waiting while the price keep to increase so instead of waiting for any price drop people can start buying with the DCA strategy and hodl.

The volatility nature of the bitcoin makes it difficult to predict, no one can  clearly predict the actual bitcoin price at anytime.  Now the the current price has shown it evidence for most folks who thought bitcoin price would hardly move up sooner, they see the current market price like a stranger, and the bitcoin price were moving gently and some folks believe that it would not go anywhere. At this moment, no one truly expects things like this will happen suddenly, and that is the reason why I do preferred investors that sticked to thier long-term bitcoin holdings, you know patience alone is what matters the most in bitcoin investment, than chasing price movement every short-term move. Those who have been waiting will still enter at a higher price, while the investors that invest in long-term and holding all this while will still secure a strong position, even when the price decides move above $80. Its a good bull run for near term its run its course I think.   A proper run will rest here for a while at least, if we continue straight up without hesitation the ironic result will be that failure is inlayed to the structure of the move and we suffer a much harsher failure later on that could cut the price in half again.
  
  Some people would be happy to watch the fireworks, fast up, big bang and a fall back to earth in the price.  Speculators would favor that volatility but structurally it'd be better, more normal for BTC to rest near here around the simple moving average for the last year.

  Looking at the chart briefly trying to find a good pivot and centre of balance to BTC movements over the last couple years, I think we're very close.  77k or 75k is about the lows of 2025 and having recovered this point, to establish this area and reinforce with support here would be really bullish for BTC into year end and much more important the build next year.   That kind of extended move and strength is what I call a proper bull run, a brief sprint like we just had is not enough to make properly bullish on the greater prices we all know BTC can and should be achieving.

There isn’t an official metric we can look at and say the bear market is over. The consensus seems to be around the 50 week moving average and currently the price is right below this level. These large price gains are in part because of leveraged traders getting wiped. These gains would have to sustain for a while to say that we have now entered a bull season. Things are looking favorable now that the dollar is getting weaker, but we need a little patience to confirm whether this is the start of a new trend.

I believe that it isn't about if BTC ever reaches $80K, it's about if BTC maintains above those levels they just broke through. The rapid move could be bullish and be a short term relief rally. The move would have more credibility if price came back to the breakout area and buyers rallied to hold it. However, the volume in the retest would also be interesting to see as it may suggest that the people who had the stocks were not too keen on selling them. For as long as we don't see the confirmation, I'll say this is a decent bullish move and not a bull run.

Excellent action, 4hr bars are the gold standard to me and it looks great imo.   We have attempted to pullback and met 78k with support rising from there.  That's some confirmation of the rally, the real target would be the May high which would complete the medium term rally target.

  When we get to 82.5k or so then I would look again if the rate of gain can be maintained or a pullback or test has to occur, with confirmation of support.  Ideally we'd confirm above 78k but it might also be lower, 74k was the target I read.  The significance of 74k is its the bare average of all trades since that low preceding this rally, so greater then the nominal check we have at 78k in theory.

A real uptrend usually come with steady volume over several week, clear higher low, consistent money flowing into the market, and funding rate that aren't getting too high...There are many factors to consider, not just the price going up and declaring that the bull run is here.

Currently, Bitcoin still doesn't have enough of those signs. So it's too early to call this a real bull run.

The thing is this, anyone who's familiar with the crypto market should already know that market usually react positively before the midterm elections in the United States of America. I'm not too surprised from what's happening now and we should expect more positivity from now until the midterm elections because a lot of money flow into the market within the period. The midterm elections is expected to take place on November. So within the next next three months from this August, September end October, the market should be bullish. Although, things may likely change but we've seen it happened and history shows it can happen especially in bull market.

I never want to be in the position of guessing what the market is doing, many coins have dumped 90% and counting, Bitcoin itself looked like it's bottomed at 58k, I believe it's best to just buy whenever you have some spare money..

Who has predicting the market bottom helped? No one I believe, they always miss the bottom one way or the other because they have so low price that they plan to buy, many are waiting for 20k per Bitcoin before they start to buy.

This pump could be fake but it makes no sense to have wait and not start buying since 58k too, even if we dump from here it's possible that we will only go down to same 60k range so what the hell are people waiting for?

I think the target to buy at the price of $20k is not realistic given the market situation that previously reached the ATH. The price target is too low to be reachable even if the drop is less than $50k. If someone wants to buy, should not miss it when Bitcoin is at 60k. The market seems to be dragging on, moving sideways for a long time. There are lots of opportunities to buy then.

It's still possible that we can still see the price of bitcoin drop to $65k since bitcoin is a volatile, there has been an increase in the price of bitcoin in the past days this is to prove that there is absolutely no need to panic when ever there is a decline in the price of bitcoin because a time will come when the price will later increase back again, the price of bitcoin now is still a good buying time, i will say bitcoin is still at dip so it's an opportunity to use well by accumulating more bitcoin because we might see the price above $100k again before the end of the year.
