Maximum cashout is something I always check first. A huge free-spin win sounds great until you realize there’s a $50 withdrawal cap.
As far as I remembered, I have never come across withdrawal limits on bonuses, including free spin bonuses, as you said. I haven't seen such a thing so far, nor have I ever experienced it when winning from a bonus. Maybe, those rules apply to casino sites that offer bonuses with easy-to-meet requirements, is that the case? Because, I feel that if the requirements are difficult to fulfill, there wouldn't be a withdrawal cap like the one you mentioned. Besides that, I think those seemingly easy rules are part of what the OP was talking about: "attracting visitors".

There are some casinos that implement withdrawal limits on promotions, specifically the free spin bonuses. One of the casinos in this forum is implementing a winning cap, or a cap on the amount that can be withdrawn by the player who claimed such a promotion. I will not say the name of the casino, but anyone who played in that casino will know. They even require players to deposit a certain amount, let us say the free spins get $30, to be able to withdraw that amount, the player must deposit $30. and whatever the winning amount from then on can be freely withdrawn.

Which player are you in this equation?
• When you talk about casino bonuses and Cashback Work, I immediately think of the experiences I have had, in essence I am not a gambler who hunts for free bonuses, for me bonuses are just bedtime stories, so I'm not interested in reading the terms & amp; conditions of the bonus. • in my understanding, casino bonuses are designed and designed mathematically so that they look fair when the bonus is used, but you need to realize that mathematically the bonus has been designed to provide a slight advantage for the user of the bonus itself, it is clear that the bonus is the profitthe casino, not the gambler. • that's what actually happens during the bonus period, many take $20 but they forget what they spent $xxxx that's how the gambling industry is designed. Personal experience is the most interesting - it’s not just "theoretical musings", but is based on personal experience and feelings. Thanks! 1. From personal experience - it’s definitely worth reading the terms and conditions Otherwise, you might end up disappointed... 2. Setting aside scammers and focusing on legitimate casinos, there’s not just math involved - there’s also... PSYCHOLOGY! My guess is that the calculation regarding the behavior of a potential regular customer goes something like this (very simplified): - Got a free chance to win and didn’t win - no problem, but there’s an element of loyalty - they "gave me money for nothing!" - Got a free chance to win and WON- this is such a cool casino; they’re giving me money for nothing!

Cashback sounds simple until you actually read the terms lol. The wagering rules and limits can make a huge difference, so I always check those before getting too excited about a bonus.

Yeah, that's true, but there are also examples where there aren't such strict terms and conditions, and the offer actually seems really friendly -one where you can easily win! But yeah, the issue of reading the rules and terms and conditions, it's always been there, it is there now, and it always will be! Very few people read the terms and conditions BEFORE they start playing. It’s no coincidence that the famous “RTFM” phrase emerged in IT - it’s a reaction to the fact that people don’t read the instructions and then spend ages complaining about problems!

Yoi are right I have not seen this too and I don't think casino usually set a withdrawal limit in bonus rather what I have seen and what they normally ask for is some certain number of wagering and a range of odds for example some casino demands you to play an odd from 1.50 above and anything less than this will not work. However, when this is been done and you made a profit that is beyond the minimum withdrawal in the casino, you can actually withdraw with ease.

The first type of player fits my bill because I always calculate the requirements of these promotions before pulling the trigger. I've also gone through the other two before, but I slowly moved on to being a bonus hunter because nothing beats the feeling of stacking those winnings. How many of you actually read the rules ALL THE WAY THROUGH when you sign up for a new site? You know, the part where you check the box that says "I have read and agree to the rules" ? I know from personal experience, I very often don’t read them at all, or just skim through them! I don't read them too, sometimes I have to scroll through because there are clever ones that only let you sign up after you get through the last part of their rules.

Technically, there’s no way to force you to READ them! 2. That’s why the options are limited to two choices - or both at once: to move forward, you have to check a box and/or scroll through the entire text of the agreement. 3. Knowing how lazy and inattentive people can be, gaming platforms take advantage of this. And then we hear "horror stories" about "sneaky casinos" when it turns out that, for example, you have to go through a KYC procedure to withdraw funds

At best, most people will quickly skim through the main points. That’s why I believe that certain issues which could later cause conflicts and problems between a casino and its customers should be clearly highlighted in bold from the very beginning. For example, if a casino requires KYC verification before allowing withdrawals, or if there are any other conditions that could affect the withdrawal of funds, this information should be clearly stated upfront. That’s why I also believe that if a casino hides its withdrawal rules, including bonus-related conditions, in small print somewhere deep in a long list of terms and conditions, it is effectively withholding important information and misleading its customers.

And then we hear "horror stories" about "sneaky casinos" when it turns out that, for example, you have to go through a KYC procedure to withdraw funds I remember reading that, upon becoming emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte introduced a new civil code in France. He gathered leading French lawyers in his palace, commissioned them to write the code, and instructed them: "Write briefly and obscurely!" 🙋 Why did Napoleon want the Civil Code to be so vague and unclear? It's very simple! Napoleon Bonaparte was a practical and realistic man. He understood that life is full of all sorts of situations. And he wanted the vague and unclear wording of the Civil Code to allow him to easily justify any decisions that would benefit him. That's why, in my opinion, online casino terms of use use vague and unclear wording. This allows casino management to interpret them to their advantage in difficult, critical situations. Moreover, unlike the French Imperial Civil Code, online casino terms and conditions are very lengthy, making them difficult (and downright impossible) to read from beginning to end. Napoleon Bonaparte valued his time highly and therefore advocated brevity. However, modern casino terms and conditions are lengthy and information-heavy. As a result, few players will be able to read them from beginning to end. This, in my opinion, also plays into the hands of casino management. 💁

you are actually very correct, because of the wagering rules I don't feel happy anymore about cashback, sometimes it can be so frustrating so I usually don't feel excited because of cashback. Some wagering rule are just too much in some casino. Yeah people should learn to check the rules before becoming so excited and happy . But I still think that there are some casino that give very good rule that will be very comfortable for The Gambler, these are the ones people should be very excited and happy about and not those ones with frustrating rules.

Conclusion Casinos are not charities. But it would also be too simplistic to call every bonus a "trap".
You say that bonuses are not necessarily traps. But if a casino deliberately exploits players' cognitive biases - for example, the "I've already won, so I can keep playing" effect - isn't that essentially the same thing as a trap? It is a pure exploitation of user weaknesses. And I doubt that any casino builds its bonus strategy in a fundamentally different way. I also have another objection to considering bonuses a form of marketing. Bonus terms are usually far too complicated. A marketing campaign needs to be simple; otherwise, it won't attract the masses.

I have seen people on the Internet who unironically believe they will get a fixed percentage of their losses back on casinos, regardless on their wagering, their volume of deposits and also regardless of the VIP status of the casino. As if casinos and bookies would be willing to happily give up on an important percentage of their income for no reason, it does not make sense when you start to think about it. People need to get more educated on how benefits are spread on the most profitable gamblers, and those who are not profitable won't get anything remarkable at all.

Excellent explanations. Bonuses and cashback are usually part of a casino's marketing budget, and what they lose with a winning player who doesn't return, they gain with those who stay and even more with those who lose. One player pays for another. In a casino, there's no such thing as a free lunch...
I'm one of those who don't take advantage of these promotions. Maybe because I bet small amounts, I don't know.

So rakeback or cashback is not some magic way to turn negative math into positive math. It is better understood as a discount on the cost of playing, while also giving you an incentive to keep playing. And this raises an interesting question: what is more valuable to a casino - simply taking your money once, or giving some of it back so that you keep playing and generate even more wagering volume?
cashback = discount is correct. But how much discount, it will depend on the structure of offer. If RTP of any slot is 95% and cashback actually return 30% of net loss. Then theoretical loss will not go from 5% to 0%. Expected cashback is roughly 1.5% of turnover, so net house cost will be about 3.5%. That is cashback will cover your negative EV. But it will not make it positive EV by itself. However, if cashback is calculated on another metric then the calculation may be completely different.

1. Potential winnings are not the same as the casino's cost That is why a casino can comfortably absorb situations where an individual player walks away with $100, $500, or even more.
I agree with you about no wager free spin that it is wrong to judge EV by headline. But here I will qualify your statement casino can comfortably absorb $100/$500 winner. In fact, it may be easier for them to absorb individual winner. But to understand real economic of any promotion, we need to look not only at average bonus cost. We also need to look at acquisition cost, conversion rate, retention, deposit behavior, player lifetime value. Retention/LTV is now a big focus in iGaming economic. And bonuses are also being used primarily as tool for activation and retention.

That’s a mathematically interesting idea - thanks! Are there any other interesting approaches to calculating these metrics? I’d also suggest that these metrics depend, not least, on the number of new users who have become regulars over a certain period and, accordingly, on the ratio of these two metrics. For example, a gaming platform that attracts dozens of new users per day, and where one of them becomes a regular user for, say, 3–6 months, is unlikely to be able to afford such bonuses and lenient requirements, such as no wagering requirements or similar restrictive mechanisms.

" A bonus can be + EV on its own, but become -EV for you if receiving it leads you to keep playing without a mathematical edge. This is where many ""profitable"" bonus hunters eventually turn back into ordinary casino players.
I wanna add one point to this. You know, border between any bonus hunter and degen is entirely discipline. If you're bonus hunter then your edge shouldn't just be in finding offers. Your edge should be knowing when to stop.. Most valuable player for any casino is probably not the one who once withdrew $100 from bonus. Rather, he, after withdrawing $100, think, this is the end of the day. So most important thing for me is. Are we using bonus as a reason to gamble, or are we using bonus to offset negative EV of gambling? These two may look same, but they are completely different games."

"You know, the line between a bonus hunter and a degen is all about discipline". That's a great way to put it! Discipline and self-control are among the key traits that allow you to stay in control of the gaming process and avoid falling prey to greed and foolishness. And the last question, "So the most important thing for me is: Are we using the bonus as a reason to gamble, or are we using the bonus to offset the negative EV of gambling?" is also good, and it’ll be interesting to hear what other participants think! For me, the answer is clear: a bonus should strictly be a tool to offset negative EV, and nothing else.

Which casinos do you bet at? Almost everyone I use now has a max withdrawal, definitely with slots there is always a cap if not mentioned in the bonus itself for sure in the TOC for bonuses. Very surprised you have never seen it,,, maybe it is less so for fiat bookies but we are all talking about crypto ones right?
