Do you have a take-profit strategy, e.g. sell X% of your bitcoin stash when Bitcoin hits Y prices.  And do you accumulate Bitcoin on a monthly basis?

Just curious what are people's investing and take-profit strategy.

I've a simple one, which is to invest at regular intervals (monthly) and sell a certain percentage when it hits some prices.

For instance, the first sell point for me is 100k USD right now.

This depends on your entry, you can't assume profits to be taken at $100k when we don't know exactly where you bought your Bitcoin. You can buy it at $77k where the price is trading now, if you share that buying analysis with them they will say that the price is too close to $100k while another person will say the profit is not bad. You have to determine your buying price first before you determine where you are going to sell even if you do DCA, you need your buying price.

With experience from investors, if you don't have an X amount of money to buy Bitcoin at once, you  can't sell at a price and make profit. So, if you are a buyer and consistently looking for where to get them cheaper, your best price is bear market and set your target to bull run, don't have price on your mind because you don't know exactly where Bitcoin price will be going during bull run, the $100k you are looking might just be the beginning of the price.

That exactly everyone's strategy, the majority.

I have specific % of my salary from my regular job that goes to bitcoin and I will continue to do that until I can.

But there are times that I just can't and have to attend to more important life expenses so there's also a lapse.

You do you.

You're into profit and if that's the strategy that you have realized going to work for you, be consistent on it but don't forget about the longer holding where you have to add more.

With this taking profit strategy you're more of a trader, which I believe is not the right way to take profits from Bitcoin, so, I would you not to approach Bitcoin with a norrow mindset, instead think big. If you want to make good money from Bitcoin invest for the long term and not for a short period of time.

I know there are professional traders who are making good, decen amount of money on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. But if they told you the amount of money lost and years they spent before they started getting it right, you  would rather focus on the ongoing accumulation of Bitcoin and it for the long term.

Well, that's a good strategy. Because in the end you set your goal for long term. Whether its trading or plain investing, you won't lose your coin totally as long as you keep adding into it. But as a friendly advice, don't get your hopes up with trading bitcoin. Trading is risky and its outcomes are unpredictable, so just trade what you can afford to lose, but continue to maximize bitcoin accumulation for long term holding.

Everyone has their goal I'm bitcoin for sure and this is why everyone's reasoning is always right. This take profit idea is a good trading skill  but you are not also free from losses. A person may set the take profit point at $100k but lacks the patience to wait until bitcoin gets to $100k. This is why it's even better to focus on investing for a long-term which will give you a better chance of making profit instead of attempting a trade that would result to losses at the end. Anyone who can be able to keep his cool until his take profit price will likely be able to also keep his investments for a long-term. Bitcoin is volatile and uncertain and you can set a price target and the market starts going down drastically, only patience would save you from losses and heartbreak. So it's even better to channel the energy into investment than trade when you don't have the shock absorber to bear losses.

I have not set any points, and I do not want to sell my Bitcoin holdings easily, because I am investing in Bitcoin for the long term. So I do not like to sell Bitcoin repeatedly at this stage, because I plan to sell my Bitcoin investment when the Bitcoin price reaches a high momentum level, according to my Bitcoin plan.
I do not like any warning signals that many people set, because I like to invest in my Bitcoin. I increase my holdings by buying Bitcoin monthly and weekly to increase my holdings.

Everyone has their own plan, but I think the goal is still to make a profit. You may be more focused on the long term, which you might not have set a target for yet.

But for some people, trading is done for a certain period or within a certain price target range. Spot traders can start when price drops occur, like some time ago. If the target is reached in a short time, they can sell part to secure the capital and sell everything else to wait for the right buying cycle again.

Many say Bitcoin is suitable for the long term, but there is nothing wrong with those who trade in the market.

Most of the people that think this way are actually newbies, who just come to take profit as others are saying it. Bitcoin investment requires a lot of patience and also consistency in your accumulation, it also require a long time investment and that is when you will be able to realize what you have put in place for yourself. I don't know why some people are so eager to take money from their bitcoin investment, but sometimes I don't normally blame some of them simply because they did not follow the proper way of investment, in time of the fund they used and that is why majority could not be able to exercise patience for their investment to grow.
Patience and financial discipline are important to reap the potential benefits of long-term Bitcoin investments. Many new investors enter the market with the expectation of quick profits and start investing after listening to others. But when the market does not grow as fast as expected, they may get frustrated and sell their investments. The problem here is not only a lack of patience. Many times, it is also due to not having a clear idea of the investment timeframe, risk, and one's own financial capacity at the beginning.

Withdrawing money from an investment cannot always be called a wrong decision. Someone may have an urgent need, family expenses may come, or their financial goals may change. In such a situation, it is normal to sell some of the investment. The problem is more when a person changes their decision repeatedly due to temporary market fear or the desire for quick profits.

In the case of long-term investments, it is better to use money that can be invested for a long time at the beginning. In addition, having a realistic plan also reduces the possibility of making emotional decisions during short-term market fluctuations. Patience is important, but patience does not mean holding on to the investment regardless of your financial situation. Rather, make decisions within your capabilities and according to your needs, according to your plan.
Long term usually also comes with a tail, meaning that you could invest more later on as well. When you are trading, you do not buy-buy-buy-sell; you buy and sell. But when it comes to the long term, you could do that, and it would be a very wise decision. The more money you have that you can invest into Bitcoin, the more you can put into Bitcoin, and it would be fine for the long term as well.

I think that is the most important part; we should be looking at this as something that would be very good for the long term. I think the best situation we have in our hands would be that if you could wait around and not sell right away, then you could buy more and more and get richer and richer on paper until one day you have enough money to sell it all and just retire as a rich person. I am not even kidding when I say this: if I do not have an emergency to sell anytime soon, I would love to keep buying bitcoin for the next 20 years, before I start thinking about selling.

Everyone plan is to make a profit from their Bitcoin investment, and so far, some people are not losing with the strategies they are using, which is good.As for me, I don’t have any strategy for taking profits. However, I know that if there is a situation where I need money, I won’t have a choice but to sell some part of my Bitcoin. But that will definitely be when my emergency funds cannot handle the situation.in short, I have not sold any part of my Bitcoin investment before, and I don’t think I will like to do that because my aim is to continue accumulating and have a reasonable portfolio before I later think of selling to take profits. But I just think that even if someone has to sell their Bitcoin, it should be during a bull run, as that is the period when the price of Bitcoin may be significantly high.

In every case, people work according to their strategies, especially when it comes to Bitcoin investment, everyone follows their plan. Investment strategies are those that invest according to which a good profit is found in the future. However, if you make a plan according to take profit, then you must arrange a table according to a percentage, so that when the market price of Bitcoin reaches that level, you will sell. If your plan is to sell 20% at the position of $100k and another 20% at $120k, you will continuously follow a profit and you will make a profit. If you invest a certain amount of money, from there you will arrange it according to take profit up to 50% and hold the remaining money for a long time. But of course, in terms of investment, you have to use DCA, this is a good strategy, and later you will arrange it according to profit. The most important thing is that you arrange everything in advance so that when the market reaches that level, you do not have to plan anything new, only then it is possible to make good profits.

Trading is very difficult and I have seen so many ads on X and other social media advertising trading companies and attracting people to learn how to trade from their end and start using their signals for trading. I will not advise anyone to trade at this point where the market is not balance and we have been seeing how the price of Bitcoin is roughly moving up and down.

Trading is not that profitable for several traders that have been trading the market claiming their are profitable when they have not been making money and the worse part is the way these people have been receiving people to trade and also buy their course.

All investors should have its own take-profit strategy. But I think its a different thing with bitcoin especially that this is for long-term goal asset. Selling is never compulsory, but continuous buying to accumulate more bitcoin to hold is what's very necessary. Selling bitcoin depends on the investor itself, he can start selling on a bullish market and buy back again when the market is bearish, or he can sell whenever he needs instant profits.

After all, not selling but continuous holding is already a good and profitable strategy for long term goal, not for short term.

Wow! That could be a long time to wait before you reap your rewards. Well, it's a long-term investment, but it's good. Now, everyone has the patience to wait, but if you have a plan, then I think you should follow it.

I cannot really do that kind of regular monthly purchasing of Bitcoin because it will all depend on how I manage the budget for the house. There are times it could go wrong when an emergency happens, so it's good if you can do it, since I do believe that Bitcoin's movement will always be going upwards with long-term investments.
On my part, I also don't have fixed period of purchase, but I do buy bitcoin whenever I have extra money on hand. But if emergency arise, buying bitcoin will be a little bit delayed, and its okay, bitcoin is here for long term so we all have the chances to catch for it. I think what matters most is you start investing in bitcoin, because the moment you start holding, your future profits are already waiting on the line.

However, setting $100k as your target selling price is good, but in reality much better if you don't set a target selling price because the price will often move forward, just never stop buying bitcoin and take time to sell when you are seeing the market is profitable to sell.

That's how it should be and you're doing it rightly.

Do one for long term in your stash and separate some that you're going to do whatever you want in specific period of time.

Sell, trade or just anything but you're not going to stop the accumulation until you can. To be honest, there's no stopping in DCA if you're preparing for a better future.

The most crucial piece of a take profit plan is determining what the money will be used for. Sometimes a price target is not enough. As once Bitcoin hits that price, the emotions kick in. Which alters the plan. In my opinion. It is better to sell everything at one price versus in stages, rather than all at once. For instance if you take a small profit at various points but hold a position. You will benefit should the price move higher. It even allows you to benefit from some profiting from the market's later reversal. I also enjoy the concept of splitting the long term and the part that will be profit taken.
