Do you have a take-profit strategy, e.g. sell X% of your bitcoin stash when Bitcoin hits Y prices.  And do you accumulate Bitcoin on a monthly basis?

Just curious what are people's investing and take-profit strategy.
[....]

I started already accumulation of bitcoin this year of 2026 and right now I keep doing the same thing having a DCA strategy for the week or even end of the month because most of the time its red of the market and price of the market are less volatile every weekend. Now at the first place you must need to know your strategy in this cycle, you could also make a partial selling if your assets like you did in DCA so you can take profit every time you have seen a key levels in the market. By this you dont get regrets taking profit while the market is going up but most of the time is after halving we have seen price of the bitcoin goes up so for me 2028 would be a great year to take profit right now just an accumulation phase.
Taking profits on the year 2028 will surely be a huge profits because by then bitcoin would have climb mountains and reach some new highs and of course if you don’t take profits along the way and stay discipline with your strategy then you would see a good returns because 2028 is far enough. But there are holders that doesn’t consider this taking profits a good idea, they just keep on accumulating and accumulating at any price and keeps holding for several years without taking profits so they could yield more gains but everyone with their own exit strategy and approach.
DCA is actually a great strategy for your bitcoin investment, you will get to see more opportunities in the market and buy at any market price with settled mindset.

On my part, I also don't have fixed period of purchase, but I do buy bitcoin whenever I have extra money on hand. But if emergency arise, buying bitcoin will be a little bit delayed, and its okay, bitcoin is here for long term so we all have the chances to catch for it. I think what matters most is you start investing in bitcoin, because the moment you start holding, your future profits are already waiting on the line.

However, setting $100k as your target selling price is good, but in reality much better if you don't set a target selling price because the price will often move forward, just never stop buying bitcoin and take time to sell when you are seeing the market is profitable to sell.
Usually people sticking with their income source never fix any strategy of buying because they always need to save their things and need an extra amount, which keeps them in a cycle. Just because of this, DCA is working very well, this always keeps the buyer on a good level, and he can stay in the market. The recent increase in price gives good encouragement to small investors, they are now setting their goals for the future.

Having any selling target is also good but its not for all many want to accumulate for long run because they are expecting its going to be have good future while few those always want to have profit taking strategy they set their targets which also give them good profit on regular basis this also works good because having profit and staying into market with small investment keep things on good level.

Selling at $100k when BTC reaches that again is a good action. Don't let others make you feel bad about doing it and you have decided that and it's part of your plan which you have to make it into reality once BTC is back at that price. The prices that we've been for several months now are under $100k so if you're happy taking profit at that rate, it's a simple logic that you're doing it basically because you have to take the profit you've been waiting for. You can also apply DCA in selling like first point at $100k, then second could be $110k, $120k, and so.

Of course, everyone has different investment strategies. Some prefer to lock in profits in the short and medium term, while others, on the contrary, prefer the long term. But as far as I’m concerned, after such a prolonged bear market, it would be premature to start selling BTC once it reaches $100k.

You can't be sure whether the price of Bitcoin will reach $100k or $110k or $120k. It would be better to buy Bitcoin regularly until this uncertain price level comes. Accumulating Bitcoin regularly for a fixed period of time would be more profitable than withdrawing at a low price. If you have to sell some amount to make a profit, don't stop after that. Continue buying Bitcoin regularly and be on the target of another take profit strategy.

It is the usual number that has been selected by the moon-boys. But to reach that number realistically, you will have to cross 80k which might get crossed very soon, and then 90k and also 95k, which I feel are going to be high selling pressure points. To be able to reach and cross 100k would mean a massive bullish move.

It is ultimately a choice of the trader when to buy and when to sell. If the person sees profit and wants to book it, go forward with it.

If a person does not like the price to sell and wants to wait, nothing wrong in that.

But the more one cycles the money, the more it will multiply over time.

In 2020, I decided to set my take-profit target at a level that I personally consider unjustifiably high. So high that even I wouldn't buy Bitcoin at that price.

On one hand, I believe that no matter what dollar price you put on Bitcoin, it will still be too low, because the real value of the dollar is zero. But on the other hand, judging by the price tags in stores, the dollar still has some value. And if I'm being honest with myself, there is a BTC/USD rate at which I would feel bad about giving away dollars in exchange for BTC. That's the logic I use.

(But my take-profit order has been sitting at the same level since 2020. So far, nobody has wanted to buy my BTC at the price I'm asking for.)

Yes, it won't be bad to sell some once it's back there and people shouldn't make others feel they're guilty because we have different entry prices.

We are sure that it's going to be back there. It might not be as soon as possible but it will be. And I agree to you that while waiting for that price, you do yourself a favor by continuing to DCA. Take advantage of the moment when the price is still below $100k.

It is ultimately a choice of the trader when to buy and when to sell. If the person sees profit and wants to book it, go forward with it.

If a person does not like the price to sell and wants to wait, nothing wrong in that.

But the more one cycles the money, the more it will multiply over time.
That's right, there will be more increases over the period of time but if someone wants to take profit, they're free to do it if they don't like to wait again for years to come back to the bull cycle.
