The truth is that some footballers has already pass their football talent and that passion will now transfer to their children. Ronaldo jr and Marcelo son Enzo are a very good example, and it will be very interesting to see if those younger players can be able to reach the level their father once reached.

I want us to bring in the names of some professional football players who also have children in football, and they are doing well already. It is undisputed that we have some players whose children's career ambitions are different from their father's profession, while there are some other key players whose children are taking after them in a football career.

I have two players to mention here; you can drop your own as well if you know some.

Cristiano Ronaldo had his some Cristiano Ronaldo Jr into football academy, and he plays in almost a similar manner to his father.

Second is Marcelo, Enzo Alves Vieira, who also has his son in the football academy; his son plays for the Real Madrid youth team.

I may not actually mention any player here whose child or children are into soccer, and are actually doing well, but the truth is that many parents like their children to continue after them in their career or area of profession or expertize. Football is a lucrative profession, and also earn high respect, and honour to those who are into it, almost all the players who play football in the professional league are wealthy through football, and because these players knows that football is a lucrative profession, they do their best to ensure that their own children tow the same path. However, not all their children might be good in soccer, and some may like to choose other profession that is quite different from that of their parents, and it also easier for these footballers to train their children in the same field, and make them excel easily, people who are not professional footballers who want their children to excel in soccer don't have the same opportunity because their parents are not opportune to make them excel.

Before today, I only knew about Giuliano Simeone who featured in the last edition of world cup for Argentina and also plays under his father at ATM. Imagine having three sons and having of three of them in the professional football.

So simeone is one of the most successful ex footballer when you compare by children.

Ronaldo Jr looks like someone that will pull more fans than any other player's son in the game because he is having his father's platform to grow and establish from.

He stated how his father was instrumental in his style and training and far successful in his footballing career surpassing his father.

Then there's also Didier Drobga, who was a peak striker for Chelsea FC and successful as well, who had his son follow in his footsteps as a striker also.

Some football stars followed exactly in their father's footsteps and played same position and were excellent at it, others changed positions and were either just good in their own way, and the rest followed their own careers.

The bottom line is, not everyone can be as successful or even as a near success or failure as their fathers or their sons in same careers or different careers althogether.

I am not in agreement with you..I am not really a fan of Messi, but whenever I see him play and do whatever magic he is very good at doing I usually applaud him.. Just like Lionel Messi, his children also took after him in his style of play and body composure...Surely you cannot say that it is a coincidence that his 3 sons all decided to take the same career, and they all seem to be doing well just like their father when he was still young...I watched some highlights on the Internet and I really couldn't believe my eyes the way this little kids were performing their fathers exact Magic right there in the football pitch...Surely you cannot call that a coincidence, or would you?

The truth is that, being in football academy like most player's kid's are is not even an established football career for the kids, some of the footballer kids in football academy that are doing well right now could even change in performance before they reach their professional football age.


What can be true examples of football career pass on to kids is that if the Zidane family, the father was a professional footballer and all his four son becomes professional footballers following.

I don't see him having any special abilities; he's known right now because of his father's very big name. If he weren't Ronaldo's child, he probably wouldn't be known by many people. I also think his career development is still pretty ordinary. Of course, comparing him to Yamal would be like comparing heaven and earth. Yamal debuted in Barcelona's senior team at 15, whereas Cristiano's kid is still in the youth teams in the Saudi league. So I feel Ronaldo's child won't achieve as much as his father. In fact, I see that some children of star football players don't have football careers as successful as their fathers. I agree with you, the big name of his father gave them ease in getting the facilities they wanted, but his career in football certainly depends on each individual. I agree that the child of a great footballer will inherit genes from his father, it can match his father or maybe not at all, but they are definitely different. The future of the child depends on how well he trains himself, honing his skills and improving his abilities. First thing we should know, is that, children has choice of what they want to become, football is not something to force on anybody, although it is rare to see any retired footballer, whose child is not being nurtured into playing football, some of them take over from their father.

Without what you said about talent and consistency, I have have always known that consistency and determination in what one does, is what helps anyone to learn and be relevant in what they have decide to become, being a career footballer is more of commitment and every day practice, but the fact still remains that, talents develops when is mentored.

You are right, his story is actually quite a twisted one. From what I saw last March he had trial training with Cadet A team of Real Madrid Academy La Fábrica. I am 100% sure that he can join there. So prospect of playing for Madrid like his father is now becoming reality in my opinion. It seems very symbolic to me, because you know his father also became a legend at Madrid.

Other hand, if you look at Romeo Beckham. After being dropped from Arsenal academy, he first went into tennis. Later he returned to football and joined his father's club Inter Miami. But he has not yet been able to make any regular place in senior team. So the idea that like father, like son is not always true.

As expected, Ronaldo is a great footballer so it is quite normal to expect his kids to also have the same skill as him because he is the One teaching him what he needs to know. He is currently 16 years old and he's already playing like a pro, this means that when they get older they might probably be better than their parent. In fact these boys get opportunity to enter world class academies from young age. Which a talented child from an ordinary family never get. So in my opinion, it is not just genetic. Rather, opportunities play a big role, which we do not talk about.

I could see many member added some more name like- Justin Kluivert (father Patrick), Federico Chiesa (father Enrico), Daniel Maldini (father Paolo), Enzo Zidane (father Zinedine), they have also walked the same path, some have done well and some are still struggling. There are also many who never wanted to come to football from their heart, they came to football under the pressure that their father is star player, so their son must also become a great player.

So my main point is, I do not make this discussion just a success list, but also want to think about how much the identity of a father helps son's career, and how much additional pressure it creates.

Jude Bellingham: his dad is a professional player who played for England.

Eden Hazard: his dad is also a footballer.

However, the point is that a father who is a footballer will either have one of his children who would want to follow their  footstep. It will either they become well known or less known than their father in the future. Ronaldo son can be less known or perform the same way as his father. Who knows?
