Cristiano Ronaldo had his some Cristiano Ronaldo Jr into football academy, and he plays in almost a similar manner to his father.
You are right, his story is actually quite a twisted one. From what I saw last March he had trial training with Cadet A team of Real Madrid Academy La Fábrica. I am 100% sure that he can join there. So prospect of playing for Madrid like his father is now becoming reality in my opinion. It seems very symbolic to me, because you know his father also became a legend at Madrid. Other hand, if you look at Romeo Beckham. After being dropped from Arsenal academy, he first went into tennis. Later he returned to football and joined his father's club Inter Miami. But he has not yet been able to make any regular place in senior team. So the idea that like father, like son is not always true. There is a reason why the JR did go there for tryouts, which his father called up and made sure it happens, so it was nepotism that got him a tryout, but there is also a reason why the kid is back in Al-Nassr youth team, Kid is 16 years old, and he is not even good enough to be playing in Saudi Arabia league, SAUDI ARABIA, and you think that he could play for Real Madrid one day? If a kid is not good enough for Al Nassr at 16 years old or 17 years old, however old he is right now, then he will never be good enough for Real Madrid ever, unless he makes a 10x jump somehow somewhere. Yamal was playing in Barcelona's main team by that age, and while yes, sure, most players don't, all those Real Madrid players you see right now on the squad would have been good enough at all of Nassr when they were 16 years old. That kid is not going anywhere at all.

@Dunamisx Another player I believe we should watch out for is his sons (Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro) is Lionel Messi. All three of his 3 sons are into football and actively play in youth academies.
This sounds quite interesting because the three children are all into football and follow after the profession of their further, deciding to be a football player is by choice and some children mercy it as what the can do while some may not have any passion over it, the only thing I never doubted is about their competency to play and develop the required skill in football, well what keep remaining as a certain fact is that the may not play as exactly as their father, their own performance may be below or perfect of what they saw from their fathers.

One of the most successful examples currently is probably Lilian Thuram's sons. Both play in the Serie A. Marcus is an attacker for Inter, Khephren Thuram plays for Juventus. Juventus has other similar examples. Sérgio Conceição's son, Francisco is currently at Juventus. Than we have Alfonso Montero, the son of Paolo Montero. Samuele Birindelli is a Monza defender. His father, Alessandro Birindelli, used to play for Juve in the 90s and 2000s. I can't think of anyone else involved with Juventus that fits in this category.
To add to this is Romelu Lukaku who is the son of the late Minama Roja Lukaku who also played for Congo 🇨🇩 Kai Rooney the first son of Wayne Rooney is also another name to mention when talking about father and son. Patrick Kluivert and his son Justin Kluivert who also plays for Bournemouth in the Premier League Competition. Erling Haaland is also another, yeah is daddy wasn't all that exceptional as a player but that incident he had with Roy Keane will also make the news whenever it pops up. Robinho and his son likewise, but I'm yet to take a close look at him because he plays for a clubs in Brazilian league.

Haaland is the son of a former player; Marcus Thuram (Inter Milan) and Khéphren Thuram (Juventus) are sons of Lilian Thuram, who won the 1998 World Cup with France. There's also Gatito Fernández (son of Gato Fernández, former Paraguayan goalkeeper), Nico Paz, and Giuliano Simeone. Christian Maldini and Daniel Maldini. The list is long.

To make it straightforward, the title already explains more about what I intended to discuss in this thread.
I want us to bring in the names of some professional football players who also have children in football, and they are doing well already. It is undisputed that we have some players whose children's career ambitions are different from their father's profession, while there are some other key players whose children are taking after them in a football career.
I have two players to mention here; you can drop your own as well if you know some.
Cristiano Ronaldo had his some Cristiano Ronaldo Jr into football academy, and he plays in almost a similar manner to his father.
Second is Marcelo, Enzo Alves Vieira, who also has his son in the football academy; his son plays for the Real Madrid youth team.
I may not actually mention any player here whose child or children are into soccer, and are actually doing well, but the truth is that many parents like their children to continue after them in their career or area of profession or expertize. Football is a lucrative profession, and also earn high respect, and honour to those who are into it, almost all the players who play football in the professional league are wealthy through football, and because these players knows that football is a lucrative profession, they do their best to ensure that their own children tow the same path. However, not all their children might be good in soccer, and some may like to choose other profession that is quite different from that of their parents, and it also easier for these footballers to train their children in the same field, and make them excel easily, people who are not professional footballers who want their children to excel in soccer don't have the same opportunity because their parents are not opportune to make them excel. Every parents desires that their children follows aftet what ever professions they are into, to keep up the business and safe them of all the effort Invested in the business for years. There are lots of footballer whose children are into soccer as there parents and are doing well too like Diego Siemeone and his son Giuliano someone is a nice example of some of the successful footbaplaer whose son or children has a good passion for same work there parents does or parent is doing.

One thing I do know is that skills can't be inherited, no matter how great CR7 is, but that doesn't mean it's going to pass down to his children. In the world of football or whatever makes the most sense it's wealth that can only be inherited, skill, fate and the rest depend on decisions and hard work. Now Cristiano Jr. is trying to follow his father's career to become a famous footballer with the access that the father has, but do not be surprised that it is only a fraction of a percent can help the rest depends on the son. You're extremely right, child is different from the father, it is possible for the child to be greater than his father, and it is also possible for the child to be less skilful than his father. CR7 will want his child to be greater than him. And Cristiano Jr. is also trying is best to write his own history. The world of football is completed especially when accidents are involved. Without the involvement of the opponents or without them being involve, their is a possibility for anything to happen unexpectedly. Because during matches the players are always busy focusing on how to score a goal, and how to prevent the opponents from winning over them. Players are only train on targets, but they don't have full control over safety. There is differences between sports and films. Every accident that occurs as a result sports either football or basketball or any other sport is real and sometimes its result in severe injuries. But the way things are going Christine Jr. can carefully watch his steps to avoid any mild, or severe injury.

I have seen many professional footballers whose children decided to follow another different part instead of their parents footsteps. Although their are some professional players who have at least one of their child following in their footsteps, others have none but I won't mention names. However, there is always joy in seeing your children or at least one of them having the same career ambition that you once had.

...Surely you cannot say that it is a coincidence that his 3 sons all decided to take the same career, and they all seem to be doing well just like their father when he was still young...I watched some highlights on the Internet and I really couldn't believe my eyes the way this little kids were performing their fathers exact Magic right there in the football pitch...Surely you cannot call that a coincidence, or would you? They are all still young, but just watch out when they grow and become of age and you will confirm that truly skills could actually inherited....
The shows you watch are good material for content, what about footage that wasn't caught on camera? So how do you measure a miracle? unless you believe in Messi. Therefore, because they are all still very young, I cannot be sure that the skills can be passed on 100%. There is a process of self development, environmental influences, sometimes changing professions, changing hobbies, etc. Everything still has the opportunity to change.

On different occasions, parents do decide for their children at an early age, but as the children grow older, they intend to make their own decisions differently from the ones their parents chose for them as they grow. Even though CR7's child is playing today, let's not be shocked to see him do something far different from sports as a career. The father, who is CR7, can be a good player, but his son might not be as good as his father because it is important to inherit everything from parents.

I don't think parents decide or chose careers for their children like they used to back then, these days children decide or chose their career ambition by themselves, their parents can only ask them questions to understand why they have chosen that career part. As for Cristiano Ronaldo's son Junior, he may not play as well as his father but I believe he is going to become a great player, he could become one of the world best.

There will also be a significant difference in that children of football players have more opportunities to achieve success, and do you know why? Name! The father’s name (given his past achievements) somehow places the hope on the children of repeating all the records that their parents achieved. Well, that's not true and I'll tell you why. Infact, the Father's influence may become too overwhelming for his children to perform, considering that the fans will have a higher/ almost the same level of expectancy for obvious reasons. A situation where the child does not do well or at least better than their parents, which in several instances they don't, that's the end of their career. Sometimes, those kids may have grown up with the whole concept of football that they don't seem to choose a different career path; what's the point of having routine of dedication when you already had a million dollar in your account before you turned 1?

I think this generation of footballers are going to be better than the last in most cases, though. Still, the most important thing is how this generation of youngsters are growing rapidly, like Lamine Yamal, who was only 16 when he started playing for FC Barcelona and the Spain national team. He is probably the youngest Spain player and also good at scoring goals. That's to show how much potential we are seeing in this gen...
Truth is this generation ain’t really producing talents enough that can rival the talents that played the game in the previous generation. If you started watching football late 90s and early 2000, you will understand what I’m talking about. How many footballers these days are outstanding players that can make the difference in a match? This generation clubs are just having 2 or 3 standout players, but previous generations, almost all the starting 11 and the ones on the bench were all stars and outstanding players in their respective positions. There is shortage of talents in modern football. Previous generations had them in excess.

Yes, he is currently 16 years old and has gained experience at several clubs, wherever his father goes, he follows. This situation might be why his potential hasn't been fully maximized yet. For now, he is with the Al-Nassr U17 squad. Though we do not know the future holds. There are rumors that he may join the Real Madrid academy. If that happens, his skills may likely increase significant improvement. Ideally, he plays center-forward. But, he can also play as a winger. Much like CR7. Cristiano Júnior

Sorry to deviate but this reminds me of politics and politicians in many countries where the politicians plants their children in political positions so they be able to take over from them in the politics of the country when they are no more into active politics. This is now becoming the trend with football and footballers as many of the legendary footballers are having their kids to turn up for the football career through the clubs academic level. The question I am asking now, can those kids play so well as their fathers in their era? Maybe a few. Just looking at the records of Cristiano Ronaldo I am in a dilemma to believe that Ronaldo jr can come close to it,.not to talk of breaking the records.

Enzo Alves Vieira is not only a player in Real Madrid's youth team, but also an important player in the club's youth structure. He also signed his first professional contract in 2026.
Wait, he already signed a contract? That's sick, I have seen some videos with him and his father play, so I know he has the footwork but him already being signed up is crazy, well, maybe his father being who he is probably had something with that. Some of the children of these footballers, one thing I can say will be different between them and their parents is the hunger. You see, the hunger the older generation had for football and that need to succeed, it is very possible that with luxuries of life, that hunger may not be there, there could be a lot of fall back options,. I think even Ronaldo said it one time, that the difference between him and his son would be the hunger for the game.

Actually, these are good moves by the players to also want their children to follow their footsteps of becoming footballers. I am not really familiar with players that have their children also enrolled and playing football asides from Cristiano Ronaldo. One thing I will always advise in this scenario is that if the child is not willing to learn and become a footballer, they should not be forced because it’ll only deviate them from truly becoming what they want to and the passion for football will not be there which may also reduce their likelihood of becoming top players like their father’s.
Football career is really a big one that most people will have their kids wants to take that path and if their children are willing to as kids of former top players, they won’t find it hard to manage them. Although they can’t be the same as their parents also since skills might be different and everyone will ultimately have their own strengths and ability in football to carry them above. I am not expecting them all to perform well as their parents did, but I won’t be surprised if they also did either. Anything can happen and they can be greater or lesser than their roots in football.

It's not only with football and it's not only with children but also brothers and sisters in all sports.
The brothers and sisters of Tsitsipas all participate in tennis but none of them have managed to reach his level and likely none of them will break above the top 250 in their career. They all bear the family name but none can seen to perform as well. A similar story with the brothers of Giannis Antentikoumbo. So really some people can be generational stars. Their family can reach high level play with good guidance but not stardom.

Well I don't really find this discussion necessary as related to gambling and I'm sure the prediction market will neither not feature this kind of event in their market except there's a dynamic form of settling it. I also know that carriers aren't heritages rather, we're being natured by our parents to adapt loving a particular field of life such as those players mentioned with their father and children being lover and mean to build carrier around the football horizons. Parents who also respects the rights of their children will let them decide if they want to inherit the carrier of their dad/parent or be something far different.

Yes, that's right: being born with a silver spoon in your mouth doesn't always mean that by thirty, at an age when your name speaks for itself, you can become popular. Parental upbringing is important here: how they will allow their children to use their victories, whether they will spoil them or, based on their own experience, teach and train them. We know the saying that if you spoil your children, your grandchildren will be poor, and one wants to believe that athletes will try to raise their children with the motivation to achieve success. Although I probably meant the same thing you are saying. Boys who are deprived of the opportunity to train properly, on good fields and with good equipment, but who have a great passion for football, sometimes "bury" their talent. In contrast, the children of footballers, having all of this, sometimes train without desire.

First of all, I don’t think it’s fair to put the children of such big stars under the shadow of their parents especially when the parent is a GOAT. When the media and fans make this comparison and judge the young players by the success of their fathers, it can cause them to shrink into their shell and even worse, try to play the same style as their dads to please the crowd instead of finding their own unique style.
Erling Haaland is also one of the players who have football heritage. I recently saw an interview where Haaland said his dad wanted him to be a professional golfer, and they trained hard when he was a kid. But he loved football and chose that path instead.
