What is their official Website?

Also, do we have a Blockchain Explorer for this?

Do not download this wallet, let reputable members confirmed that I am correct.

This is the website: https://ecash.com/
You can use this explorer: https://blockchair.com/ecash

There is not where the coin is listed, so no price.

It is in Alpha stage and the project has been disappointing.

I think the beta stage will begin on 20th of September

I didn't know about that fork, is it true that he wants to allocate some of Satoshi's dormant coins to early investors?

I have seen that it was planned for October, then in August, so apart from what you comment it would be good for you to comment on some more details you may know such as the date on which the fork has been or will be carried out, so that we can all be informed.

I have found the website https://ecash.com I don't know if it is official but so it seems. According to the website, the (edit: alpha release) will happen in a little less than 20 hours.

No, that is not possible. Only Satoshi Nakamoto that has the private key access to the coins can spend it. During hard fork like BCH, anyone that has any amount of bitcoin will be given the same amount in BCH. That is what will happen during any hard fork and eCash is not an exception.

Example is if you have 0.037 BTC, you will be airdropped 0.037 ECX.

Ticker of the eCash is ECX

It is the official site but I will like reputable memberoto confirmed it.

The website (ecash.com) posted above seem to be the official website based on Paul Sztorc's tweets[1][2] but the Blockchair link is not, that's a different project (see the logo).

Unless you know what you're doing, I wouldn't really recommend rushing into downloading a new wallet and using your seedphrase to claim the fork. Besides, with no known wallets or exchanges support, the coin is going to be worthless anyway. Stay safe.

It is true, he actually does want to re allocate the forked early Bitcoins.  It is not possible to re allocate the BITCOINS but it is possible to create an eCash hard fork where they change ownership.

-----

The project is in my opinion very little known by people and as a consequence there are many risks you assume when trying to claim your forked coins.  I would at the very least wait until more people jump in trying to claim theirs and I would wait to see if it even has any value at all.  It may end up not even being worth claiming.

Yes, the https://blockchair.com/ecash is not the official explorer. There can not be official explorer than running owns node to check the information just like bitcoin. I thought he will understand but it is good that you make the clarification.

Thanks for letting me know this, which means it is a stupid project. The airdropped that belongs to Satoshi, he wants to claim it.

This is a very stupid project.

The more I see new things like this about the fork, the more I see the reason the stay away from it.

Took you long enough to figure it out Smiley.

You obviously need to put your seed into a wallet dedicated to eCash (I'm sure new scam wallets will erupt in a matter of time), just to claim some eCash that's basically of no value currently. That feels like too much unnecessary risk to me.

The money isn't worth putting your keys at risk or making some dumb mistake eventually that could cost you your real BTC, all in the f name of claiming some fork coins

Are you sure? Where can I see nodes that signal for BIP 110

There are already and there is a coin on solana that was created recently that has the name just to deceive people.

Nobody know that yet, they planed it so that it will be on the bear market probably so that the coin may rise in the bull market.

After the airdrop, you can send your bitcoin to another wallet that has another private key before you begin the process to claim the forked coin.

I am expecting the coin to be 10 times lesser than the value of bitcoin in a way someone that has $1000 in bitcoin will be able to see $100.

Even if it is 100 times less, there are some people that has huge amount of bitcoin which will be a bonus for them but it will be good if they later sell the coins and use it to buy bitcoin because the coin can not have a good value later.

Thanks for letting me know this, which means it is a stupid project. The airdropped that belongs to Satoshi, he wants to claim it.

Not that he wants to claim it all, but according to what I read from the proposal, the idea is to airdrop only 600,000 of the fork (eCash) to Satoshi addresses, and the remaining 500,000 will be reserved or allocated to developers, and it’s also for pre-launching; just consider it a form of fundraising for the developer of “eCash” through the fork. Some people are regarding that idea as theft.

The money isn't worth putting your keys at risk or making some dumb mistake eventually that could cost you your real BTC, all in the f name of claiming some fork coins

If the project becomes a success, this will no longer be something to think about, like in the past. In the same way people claimed Bitcoin Cash, for security reasons if someone is having doubt, it’s better you move your Bitcoin to a new/safe wallet before exposing your seed in the dedicated claim wallet; that way, if anything occurs, your Bitcoin won’t be affected.

No, that is not possible. Only Satoshi Nakamoto that has the private key access to the coins can spend it. During hard fork like BCH, anyone that has any amount of bitcoin will be given the same amount in BCH. That is what will happen during any hard fork and eCash is not an exception.
When an altcoin is created, a new protocol is being created and what is and isn't possible in that protocol depends on those who created it, not the original source. And they can change anything they want.

For example when the first copy was created out of bitcoin (just the code though, not the chain) they replaced the hash algorithm (SHA256) with Scrypt and changed the time between blocks from 10 min to 2.5 min and called the result Litecoin.

So it is not only possible but trivial to change rules or add new ones that allows them to spend any outputs including those created in early blocks that are believed to belong to Satoshi.

The alpha stage is over, and the beta stage is coming in less than a month; let's see what those who first download the wallet say.

Based on the site
Quote
Starting at block ~963,648 (alpha), every address holding BTC receives a matching balance in eCash — practice $ECX at alpha and beta, permanent $ECX at mainnet (block ~973,728). No registration. No pre-claim. No changes to your Bitcoin.

I don't see potential in this project, but what am I going to lose if I keep my Bitcoin in a non-custodial wallet, wait for the snapshot, and claim it later when it's safe to do so?
I'll only proceed when it's confirmed that it's safe to do so.

Nope, you still don't get it. You have to import first or still need the new private key: https://github.com/ecash-com/fast-facts/blob/main/03-replay-protection-and-coin-splitting.md.

Or https://gist.github.com/RobinLinus/48d08307e960e4461b3e4b4feabf29e9 . Unless they did  something about it which I'm not sure as of now.

Yes, this is the right mindset. Go ahead only when its safe and there's more infos available.  Besides, it’s worth nothing for now as I've mentioned earlier

From the above, you already got the information, and it seems correct. For the last few days I have been hearing about the hard fork. Not sure how it’s been supported by developers and exchanges; otherwise, it won’t be very effective. I have to read their details of how they think it’s necessary to organise a hard fork. For the hard fork, it’s important to see how many exchanges have been supporting them. I have visited their website but haven’t found much information yet.

However, make sure you aren’t falling into a scam. Scammers would be active now to cheat us, offer exchanges or try to sell fake wallet keys and so on. Must be careful, especially when you are downloading something for that hard fork purpose.

If you know the snapshot schedule, simply use a temporary address to hold your Bitcoin until it is complete. I believe you can only claim these forked coins using a specific wallet, which means you will need to restore your Bitcoin wallet backup elsewhere.

What is their official Website?

Also, do we have a Blockchain Explorer for this?
I'm surprised to see another fork coming up on Bitcoin seriously, are you needing to take part in the crowdsales or coming up on September to October 2026?; I haven't confirmed it's originallity though but the site seems good to be true.

he should have chosen a name that was not already used for another project (fork of BCH) I saw him (Paul) pestering the existing eCash coin saying they were dead and they should give him their site/domain/name/ticker etc etc

either way it is just another altcoin/shitcoin fork of Bitcoin - like BIP110 is.

Normally this would be a coin I'd be interested in, a PoW blockchain trying to be a merged mined "sidechain hub" is imo not a bad idea.

But the "Satoshi th... reallocation" really discourages me to invest a single thought in this.

However, if everything is open source, nobody prevents anybody to take the eCash code, take the code of the drivechains, eliminate the "Satoshi reallocation code" and create another fork (e.g. call it "Faircash", like "Fairbrix", the predecessor of Litecoin). And take all commits from Sztorc's project too.

This could even be automated by an AI agent Tongue

Or just start a new coin from scratch and only take the drivechain code. I remember Litecoin was doing tests with Drivechain too. Perhaps this is the better project to look at.

It would be much better, if it would be launched in a Merged Mining way. Because now, this altcoin simply says to developers: "you should use Merged Mining to build your sidechain on top of our chain, but we won't use it to launch our chain, to let BTC miners mine ECX with the same hashing power". And then, how would developers believe, that the idea of Merged Mining is good, if the sidechain itself doesn't use it?

Because sidechain developer is basically in the same position: enabling Merged Mining between BTC and ECX is very similar to enabling it between ECX and ALT. If there are any reasons why ECX shouldn't use it, then for exactly the same reasons, ALT shouldn't use it, too.

Also, it is completely unnecessary. If they start with 3.125 ECX per block, and difficulty equal to one, like they did in their alpha phase, then early miners will get 100k ECX, or something around it, until the difficulty would adjust.

By the way: copy-pasting BTC rules, while also resetting the difficulty to one, leaves their network wide open to the same timewarp attack, as it happened on testnet3. Maybe in alpha stage, nobody cared, but I wouldn't be surprised, if someone would want to try it, when they will launch the final version.

With a timewarp attack, they could easily get the same amount they want to "reallocate", and get around 500k ECX, while also overprinting for example around 210,000 blocks, and going one halving to the future.

Again, properly done Merged Mining between BTC and ECX could solve it, but they explicitly decided not to use it.

Not only that. It is possible to launch sidechains, where you could for example only peg-in and peg-out coins, which were not reallocated.

Also, by constantly hard-forking, instead of using their own upgrade mechanism, they just discourage users to use the tools they created. Because all alpha coins should be upgradeable to beta, by just pegging them out of alpha, and pegging them into beta. But instead, they plan to watch BTC status again, and do another hard-fork, by taking a snapshot from BTC again, and showing a middle finger to all alpha testers, by showing them, that their ECX coins are now worthless, and they would have more beta coins, by mining BTC, instead of mining alpha ECX.

In general, when you have working sidechains, then you don't need any hard-forks anymore. Every time you want to hard-fork, you can instead launch sidechain B, and then people can do a peg-out from sidechain A, peg-in to sidechain B, and they are upgraded.

There is no need to start a new coin, if you can just use Proof of Work inside Script. In this way, there is also no Merged Mining between this solution, and BTC, but in this case, you can just peg-in and peg-out real BTCs instead, without making any new coins out of thin air, splitting coins between BTC and ALT, and doing other unnecessary things they did.
