I am monitoring the SMEs in my country and I've seen a lot from different business groups that many business owners are already facing huge problem in sales and expenses. Most of them are saying that this year is even worse than the pandemic times where businesses some industries were stronger than of today. This is a sign that the government isn't doing the right thing of helping the business sector stronger. They're focusing more of politicizing and with the upcoming elections instead of helping these businessmen. Small and large businesses needed help as of this time, rent is increasing, inflation is higher, sales is low and I've seen some that they literally have no sale in a day, oil is increasing and it creates the domino impact that up to the employees who have family to feed are also being impacted by this struggling economy.

Small business is the backbone of the economy. economy . They help to reduce the government's burden of unemployment by creating jobs. It is a source of providing goods at low cost, Moreover they promote self employment or enterprenuership. Everyone knows the importance of small business but the problem is that our government is not very supportive, means if they do not able to provide finance then they should offer at least relaxation in terms of taxes. For example whenever government announced yearly tax policy it is applicable on all irrespective of big and small business. That affects them alot, because they are at that time on struggling phase of business . Government should give exempt from taxes in early few years of business. It would be great relief and it would encourage the people for more investments.
In the economy of a country, small businesses are the main assets and nobody denies this truth. The reason is that in small businesses just a few individuals make a system and run their houses, so ultimately, people work in a routine and employment rate increases and people start to become financially stable. In the end, small businesses give financial security to ordinary people and people further start their own business, then expand it. Step by step, in the form of taxes, the government generates huge revenue.

But my question is why doesn't the government give any subsidy to small business owners? It depends on the authorities of the country. The reason is very simple, because our leaders are corrupted, and they aren't interested in the better progress of the country because they just enjoy their powers of seat. Government should gives subsides through different ways if it don't able to give financial benefits. So, when sincere democracy comes, it finds the best solutions and, ultimately, the country is set on track for success

I believe the government could possibly help small businesses in their own ways, like making an area developed so that shops can easily spread wide, or by reducing the price of commodity. Basically the government has the power to change things for the better, but they don't which often makes us ask questions like, What is the government even doing if their decisions aren't impacting the people?...It's easy to say for me small businesses wouldn't be able to help the fact that the possibility of them growing is very low due to inflation and poor governance. As a matter of fact even if there is a change in government, nobody knows if the economy will get better or not. Perhaps instead of waiting for the government the community can easily impact one another, creating an independent growth within the locality. That's all......
It a great idea if the government build areas to reduce commodity prices honestly it sound to good to the ears, but in reality it doesn’t lasts, imagine how the government would take over years to establish such projects, we have any idea how the government project play out to be slow and inconsistent, and change with so many politics, the reality of life the government are not ready and if we even keep watching and waiting for the government to do such innovation I guess will all see our great grand grandchildren before such happens…

I dont consider restaurants a small business because they get a good number of customers if located in a busy area and will have a good number of repeat customers if they are always maintaining their standards. Eventually they will be doing up-scaling of their own business and grow into more outlets and the business can become very big or they can just not grow big but maintain a single outlet and churn out out money every day.

They dont need to always make an impact, they need to bring food to the table for the people who are running it. If that purpose is solved, why make an impact at all? Choice to make or have an impact will need more effort, but that can be bypassed.
You are right, in many cases, small restaurants generate better income than large restaurants. Especially if the restaurant is in a busy place and repeat customers are created. Small restaurants in busy places can also generate a lot of sales. However, when many people eat at a restaurant, it does not become a big business. Someone may have a family-owned restaurant, there may be 8-10 employees working there and they have only one outlet. Customers come every day just because the location is good. Even then, the overall size of the business may be small. Because the number of customers alone does not measure whether a business is big or small. There are other things to consider, such as how many employees, how much annual revenue and what is the financial size of the business.

It is government responsibility to develop places to bring about a conducive environment for business owners who does business there. When there are developments, businesses will thrives and prices of commodities will reduce. However, the price may not stay low for a long time because inflation, that is why government must ensure that developments reaches areas that are underdevelop, build roads, create employment and ensure there is constant electricity so that people will not feel the impact of inflation on commodities much.

Yes small business are not always small in impact, to me the only way your business will be considered as small is when you're competing with others that are of the same business category with you, and those ones had already gone far with their business and are already well known and large, then you decide to to start up so little in such business, such business will be overshadowed with no doubt, but when once you're starting something different from the ones around you, no matter how small you're starting with so long it's something that the people really want, I can assure you that even within yourself you won't be able to consider it small because you will really see the great impact it will make for you, so small or big, make sure while starting you start something different from the rest and watch it manifest.

Let’s face it, every economy has this problem. Small businesses are the backbone of any economy, but it’s this economic class that is suffering most. Governments need to look for ways to help those businesses, but it seems they are only interested in helping out big corporations, which account for at best 20% of any economy. The only thing I can think of is big business runs the government and doesn't give a damn about wrecking an entire economic model to make more profits.

Indeed it is and this is why it is important that the government is actively involved in the economical development of the land. There some places I have been to in my country and the thought process I have is, what if the government had investment time and money into this place, how it would it look like, especially places that have high volumes of customers on a daily basis, places like that with a little government support, alot of these small businesses will develop.

It's a symbiotic thing really, where if the people's business grow, the economic and just the general living of the environment grows as well and when that happens, I mean the results are self explanatory but we have some many issues being corrupted by politics, so all these investments to them is useless unless it directly ties to their election campaign.

Small businesses like restaurants, local shops, and other small enterprises play a huge role in every economy.
Individually they may seem small, but together they create jobs and keep the economy running. That’s why they are often called the "backbone of the economy".
However, these businesses often face big challenges like
- Limited access to loans
- Higher taxes
- Tough competition from big companies
They are regarded as Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (SMEs), and of course, they are the backbones of national economy. You might be hearing big names this, big names that, but if you add them together, they are contributing a few percentage to the daily activities of the nation's economy. But SMEs make daily lives easier and better, and the more a country has them, the better for the country.

This raises an important question: Should governments do more to support small businesses?
Yes, that's essentially necessary.

Small businesses are actually doing very well to support the economy, just like you said they provide jobs.
In my country the reason why people are still a little bit comfortable is because of small businesses.
Small business has helped a lot of people, some graduate when they finish school the next thing they do is to start a small business.

The government should actually do more to support the small businesses because they are actually the lifesaver, they are doing more to the economy.
Small businesses should be encourage. They should be giving loan without much requirement by the government, it would really help encourage more people.
Most of the businesses we see big today all started small and it has also help in reducing unemployment in the country. Business is important and shouldn't be over look, there are people who still feel ashamed of starting a small business and they are hoping for the government to come help them out, it's impossible for government to provide all our needs so people should help them self out by business from small no matter how small it is, but the government also can actually support these small business by either giving them an access to loan on a small or little interest rate.

There are many examples in the world who have done small business and have seen a big impact, so these words do not seem good coming out of the mouths of many people. They think that if the business is small, it is not a business and there is not much savings in it. Whereas profit is the only profit in business, so you should work hard in your business and give good things to people, they will definitely be happy with you and in the same way the business increases. A person who has a lot of money will invest his money in a big business, someone who does not have that much income will put only a part in it. Therefore, a business should never talk below anyone. We all know what the creator of Amazon had, a board, computer and idea, after all this, we all know where he is today. Therefore, hard work and patience increase your business, it takes time but it definitely happens.

Basically, this is not talking about individual business as being small but a general impact of small businesses. All the business which are not big cooperation owned or are not large in like the companies you know of in your country are all small business not matter how large the individual business is, a business is consider a large scale enterprise when it has to do with large scale production for importation and exportation, example in Nigeria where I'm from is the Dangote, BUA, etc those are not small business but every business you see start for individual profit making is a small business no matter the large place they have as a location and the number of employees they have.

so the impact they have is the fact that they pay tax and contribute to the growth of the economy unofficially, when there is unemployment they help by employing as much as they can and that has a great impact in the economy of the nation reducing the unemployment rate, so they hold a great impact in even thou they are several business put together.

The government can't reduce the price of commodity. There is no way you expect people that bought things at expensive price and you expect the government to use their influence to reduce the price of things, that will kill the economy, it will discourage people that are doing businesses and the government will not be able to generate plenty of money through tax. The best alternative that the government can do is to help subsidized some products so the poor can be able to afford it.

The subsidy is a very great way government use to help the poor masses if done well, things like food that are consumed by almost everyone are subsidized, bread for example is one of the things European countries subsidized because almost everyone eat bread. In my country, they used to subsidized oil since we are oil producing country but corruption was high, it wasn't defending the poor and the government has to stop it.
