US court overturns Trump visa restrictions on Nigeria, 74 other countries

The immigrant visas processing for applicants from 75 countries that Trump administration suspended for including Nigeria and other 74 countries has been overturned on Friday by U.S. District Judge Jeannette Vargas.

I think this is a good news that Nigerians should hear about.

This is actually a good news for the immigrants who's visas were restricted and suspended, that's how a country with good objectives operate not here in Nigeria that everything is porous and lawless, if Nigeria was well developed I don't think the citizens will be traveling out to seeking greener pasture because one can't leave his country were the economy is flowing with wealth and a good valuable currency and be seeking for livelihood elsewhere away from home, travelling abroad would have been when one wants to go on a vacation and take a breath of fresh air from work.

It's quite interesting the way Donald Trump is taking charge of the United States of America and making sure that the citizens are protected and having strict compliance to documentation of immigrants that wants to come into the country, kudos to the court who overturned the restrictions. I don't think Nigeria has such strict rules and policies on immigrants, well it's commendable and good news for our fellow Nigerian who's visas were restricted.

And at least I'm happy for all those immigrants, because this shows that the American government and it's rule of law prioritize citizens safety and fair treatment of whoever might have been and contributed to workforce in the United States of America economy.

Nigeria government doesn't obeyed court orders,I think I could  still remember that they were still several courts orders that the government of Nigeria has not  obey yet even up til this day. If it was in Nigeria that this court order was issue out I believe that the government would have come up with a sentimental reason why they can't follow such orders because it contradict the interest and security of Nigeria. I'm also happy for those immigrants, aleast they should be lucky that the America govt will follow suit regarding the court,our government should watch the way her foreign counterpart follows and obey court orders, that's how a democratic government is meant to operate in a country.

This is indeed good news for immigrants whose visas were restricted or suspended. A country with strong institutions should have clear immigration policies while also respecting the rule of law, and the court’s decision shows why checks and balances matter.

It also highlights the bigger issue for countries like Nigeria. If our economy were stronger, our currency more valuable, and opportunities more available, many Nigerians wouldn’t feel compelled to leave home in search of greener pastures. Travelling abroad would largely be about tourism, education, business, or simply experiencing another country, not escaping economic hardship.

We can appreciate stronger immigration enforcement while also celebrating a court decision that protects due process. Hopefully, Nigeria can build institutions and an economy that give its citizens more reasons to stay and thrive at home.
