Hi Guys

i was interested in maybe cloud mining and looked for monthly or a quarterly contact to limit the initial investment and to see if it generates a positive return.  However, cloud mining seems incredibly expensive if I understand things correctly.

Cloudhashers will give me 1 day of 35Ghash speed for $12.  That is very expensive as I would earn about $12 after 1 month of mining at 180 Ghash/s.

Bitcoin hashing sells 4month of 1gh/s for 4Bitcoins.  So I would need to earn more than 1coin a month at 1gh/s to make this a profitable envedour.

What am I missing or why is cloud mining popular?  Seems rather expensive compared to buying a UBS stick that gives you 2 Gh/s and putting that on your computer

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

CEX fees will eat up any profit at all . . .

Scrypt mining is where it's at right now, especially scrypt - n.  The only cloud mining in scrypt that includes an exchange option (meaning you can sell your k hs) is scrypt.cc

Follow the link below.  It's the best returns on cloud mining I've seen yet.

Scrypt.cc and similar sites are the only way you have a chance at making a profit through cloud services, but that has more to do with trading than mining.

Anything that locks you in for contract is a guaranteed loss. Renting rigs is also a loss (their prices never drop low enough to justify them).

1GHs for 4 bitcoin?!  Seriously?  You can get 1GHs on PBMining for .0064 BTC.  And that's yours for 5 years.

PBmining is best $/gh/s ratio, antminer s1 comes very close once you factor in electricity. Personally, buying coins is better route IMO.
