For some reason Trump has chosen this time (collapse of the power grid in the SW) to threaten possible decrease of power in the NE.    They get 6% of their energy generation from Ontario hydro while Trump is saying he doesn't need anything from Canada.

You'll see some bitcoin price movement as the diplomats go back and forth, but the price of bitcoin will not JUMP until the energy uncertainty is solved.  It's time for the Yankees to straighten up their house and get rid of the king.

Recently found out that Canada are the US biggest supplier of oil
One of the reasons why the most exported product in the US remains petrol.
It would be unwise to cut ties with a close neighbor such as Canada.
Though the US wouldn't be the only affected but everybody are better with working together.
And here I thought we have left tariff war in the past and moved on.

Bitcoin price has already jumped about $20,000 (from $60k to $80k) and is preparing to make the next jump. It is not waiting for any regime.

As for the pedophile POTUS, generally speaking the US regime is getting more desperate every day as the Epstein Class that make up this regime lose their grip on the global economy and supply chain metaphorical "throat" and become more and more irrelevant on the global stage. As that happens, the regime becomes more aggressive and like a rabid dog will start biting at anybody it can sink its teeth into.

Today that's Canada, yesterday it was Iran, the day before that it was Venezuela; Tomorrow it will be Greenland, the day after that Cuba, and so on... until US is dissolved like USSR did. That's the only way to solve the issue the world has with this rogue regime...

He's just being prideful saying he doesn't need anything from Canada, apart from the electricity US gets from Canada, US also gets oil, millions of barrels per day, natural gas is also being imported still from Canada to the US and he is saying such...

Meanwhile they will need more to get impeach trump, this is not significant enough to get that done, worst has happened and they couldn't still do shii. From iran to venezuela to green land, nothing happened and now those are passed. So sadly just electricity wouldn't make that happen
‎Bitcoin price has already jumped about $20,000 (from $60k to $80k) and is preparing to make the next jump.
‎Well the next jump will have to wait if Canada makes their threats come to reality..

‎If they cut the energy going to the US, electricity becomes expensive and as a result there is more demand for money, and that could make Bitcoin sell for a while, plus Miners needs electricity and cost will increase also contributing to potential lower prices in Bitcoin.

Soo...

Trump has spent most part of his current tenure as POTUS in making many enemies in his regime than building friendly bridges Ndt even his neighbours are exempted from his madness of unnecessary tariff wars. I won't be wrong to say it that if Trump was President in a non democratic setting he would have being worst than those some of you all refer to as dictators.

And here I thought we have left tariff war in the past and moved on.
Maybe we are the only people that left tariff to the past, Trump was on a vacation touring Iran.

Am I the only one who thinks that we're giving this particular issue a little to much power over Bitcoin's price.

Let's even assume that the energy situation gets worse, there are still other price-driving factors like the ETFs,  institutions, liquidity, interest rates and general market sentiment pushing the market.

The US might be economically bigger than their neighbors Canada but they're very much economically connected in several ways, so this will definitely affect both countries should they decide to turn it to energy fight.

This is on point and the role of the USA is undermined step by step, but some of the ideas I read here are too short-sighted. The USD still accounts for close to 60%  of global currency reserves. That is roughly 20 times that of the Yuan. This is not meant to say that it won't happen, but I think it will take longer than some expect. The USA still lives off of a political buffer that has still room to shrink, you understand the implicit sarcasm... Smiley

The problem is if Saudi Arabia decides to trade their oil in Yuan tomorrow, this doesn't imply that the Yuan won't end up in USD. It is a more complex question, a more complex chain of financial implications. It is not just "oil not in USD anymore, USD dead". I am not arguing that you said this, it is just to add to the discussion because this is what I often hear from people anywhere from my personal circle to broader circles.

I very much like how Canada fights back. It needs more of those actions. Iran was, yes, an unbelievable miscalculation, overestimation of themselves, and now they pay the price because nobody cares when the USA drop bombs in Africa, but now everybody cares because everybody is affected because Iran holds one of the most powerful weapons ever built: no, not a nuclear weapon, but something similar - the Strait of Hormus.

Ultimately, you know, Trump was always asking for a peace prize. He got them "both". One from the FIFA, and one that he stole with extortion. The world couldn't be any stranger than this. But I would like to mention an important detail from my private life: I was recently in touch with a very good friend from the USA whom I got to know while I was living there. He said he is destroyed on the inside because of all the decisions the administration makes there, yet "I am who I am" he said. I think that says a lot, in every country there are normal people, regrettably not too many have the privilege to lead the nation.

Recently found out that Canada are the US biggest supplier of oil
One of the reasons why the most exported product in the US remains petrol.

Wait till you realize two things:
- Canada does import oil from the US, it also imports diesel and gasoline
- Canada is probably the only country in this world that needs to ship oil through the US from its oil fields to get it back into Canada to its refineries
- The US can import oil from somewhere else, Canada can't sell the oil even if they wanted to
Canada will wake up to reality when they realize how insignificant they truly are and how their 20 years of bad economic planning will all come to bite them in the ass at the same time.

Today that's Canada, yesterday it was Iran, the day before that it was Venezuela; Tomorrow it will be Greenland, the day after that Cuba, and so on... until US is dissolved like USSR did. That's the only way to solve the issue the world has with this rogue regime...

Energy prices directly affect Bitcoin's price.   Canada is now the most connected country in the world, trade agreement wise.

Canada will wake up to reality when they realize how insignificant they truly are and how their 20 years of bad economic planning will all come to bite them in the ass at the same time.

We've always needed a pipeline to the coast -- now we have one, and the next one is going north to feed hungry China.  Finally we have a prime minister that will show Trump just how insignificant and dependent we are.   lol

Hormus.
The only reason why countries have been bag-holding the fastest printed fiat called dollar has been the scam known as Petrodollar. If that ends, they won't have that incentive to bag-hold it any longer and when ultra-hyperinflation hits the dollar, they'll have even less incentive.

Another thing to consider is that one of the reasons why for example the Chinese have been purchasing the US debt all this time was because of political reasons (WW3 aka Cold War result wanting to grow silently) as well as the profit. There was an interesting article I read a while ago with a very interesting title that was something like this "The Red Army was built with American taxpayers money". Think about it a little... The Chinese bought over a trillion dollar worth of US debt. Those bonds weren't just a piece of paper, the US regime was giving them interest for their "investment". That interest was coming out of taxpayers pockets right into China's pockets. And China was using it to build its infrastructure, increase its production, strengthen its economy, etc.

News flash: China used to hold more than $1.3 trillion and now they only bag-hold $0.6 trillion. That's right, they've dumped half of it since they no longer need that "interest" and the dedollarisation is continuing.
You said "USD still accounts for close to 60%  of global currency reserves" (it's less than that in reality but) you forgot to say that once it accounted for more than 90% and it has been consistently dumping. A process that has been speeding up over the past couple of years and will speed up the more the world sees the rogue nature of the US regime...

Finally we have a prime minister that will show Trump just how insignificant and dependent we are.   lol
If there is any truth to that, then you should prepare to be bombed.

You see, the US regime sees the world in 2 categories: clients or enemies.

You've been a client serving the Epstein Class forever. You've participated in all the American Terrorism around the globe for as long as my memory serves (latest one being participation in Coalition of Terror to carry out terrorist attacks against civilians in Yemen to help break the blockade Yemen was enforcing on Zionist terrorists for the genocide they are committing in Palestine).

If you stop being a client and stop serving the US regime, they'll categorize you under enemies category. Considering these days the regime is losing everywhere else, they'll need to focus on their own shrunken area of influence (that's the nonsense known as Monroe Doctrine) so it is going to be a much tougher thing to pull off.

In any case to me it looks like Canada is doing what most others have been doing: they saw how Iran defeated US Axis in West Asia and seeing that weakened state they are trying to "get some kicks in". I wouldn't expect major policy changes that would lead to your category changing in the eyes of the regime. You will continue to remain a client!

We've always needed a pipeline to the coast -- now we have one, and the next one is going north to feed hungry China.  Finally we have a prime minister that will show Trump just how insignificant and dependent we are.   lol

It took a decade to build the expansion for the TMX, it will take another one if not more to build one with the current environment.
Canada become too dependent on the US, now it will pay that price jsut like any other country would, as for the insignificant part, sorry but it's the size of Texas.
I speak here as a European, take one by one each country aside from Germany and France is insignificant to the US, we still have a word because we're the EU, if that union wouldn't exist....

In any case to me it looks like Canada is doing what most others have been doing: they saw how Iran defeated US Axis in West Asia

You also won ww1 ,ww2 and ww3, right?
And you defeated the Leagues of Votann between that, right?

How's your leader, still a cardboard poster?
