It is very wrong to think of the two as separate, there is no guarantee that a person will be successful just by hard work, similarly it is not possible to achieve any success by just relying on intelligence without actually working hard. But if none of these are present in you then you will face failure in that direction, you are choosing the right plan but you are not working hard, so your imagination will remain only a  imagination which will never become reality and will not give you any results. At the same time you are just working blindly without any research or proper intention, at the end of the day this too will not bring you any realistic results, as by working hard in the wrong place you will only face disappointment. And so both have to be used together, those who have both these qualities can achieve the best success at the end of the day.

In most cases, nowadays, intelligence and hard work are required, I agree. But it is not the same for all people that their intelligence and hard work are equally important. You're aware that not everyone has the same situation. You will notice and see that there are many people that have opportunities but they are not prepared. Once again you will encounter many hard workers, but with a poor environment. This time a lot of people may be behind because of their capital, education or lack of network.
