As a long time gambler in the forum, I witness a lot of casino exit without a trace despite having a good reputation build in the community.

Any services that operating off shore can come and go without a trace so it’s important to gamble responsibly and deposit what you can afford to lose.

This is the reason why I always say that people should not feel comfortable leaving large amount of money on casinos or gambling platforms no matter their reputations, I'm glad you came up with this post, because I have never heard of any reputable casino on this forum that vanished with users funds without a trace untill today.  As for me, I have never for once leave money on any casino or gambling platform, I make deposits only when I want to gamble and if I want to leave the casino site or app I withdraw all my money.

My opinion is that all money you put into a casino should automatically considered "losted", which is why I never put more money into it than I am willing to lose in gambling... it needs to be a money that I would not miss.

Its obviously that losing money hurts, no matter the amount... and what you described is real because with an offshore casino you do not have the main protection mechanism, which is a local regulator with a power to demand a response from casino, to preserve funds (if there are still any) and even apply sanctions if they do not fulfill their obligations to users, especially if they redirect them to another brand.

Anyway, I know that the Philippines has a large betting market, but I honestly tend to stay away from casinos from there... every day I’ve been reading more problems involving these casinos.

Professional or not, there is a possibility for something like this to happen, a company could be battling with bankruptcy and still keep their users in the dark and then just come out one day and tell you that they are shutting their site or in worst case scenario, you could just log into their site and get a notification that they are no longer active and since they are not registered in your country and are offshore, theoretical you could push for your money but that doesn't guarantee that you would be getting it back tho.

That is very true and the main reason why I do not trust any casino to keep my money stored in their site. We can be gambling on a casino regularly without knowing they are struggling financially or it could be that their vault got hacked and millions of dollars were withdrawn that is why they are shutting down and if you had money on the casino you will not be able to withdraw. Offshore casinos are the best because they might not demand KYC verification and you can gamble without paying tax on your profit but when they finally close no one can help you out not even the authorities.

I could mention a couple long term casinos that I've not purposely left money on but none the less it has been ok while its been left there and that has remained true for years.  However its not sensible to leave what you cant afford to lose on a site & expecting everything always to be fine.   Dont add to risks you dont need to take, gambling is risk enough as it is.

Leaving money on the site is a big problem, but a casino can also be on the edge of collapse or shutdown without us knowing, and we can just be playing regularly as always only to win and be unable to withdraw our winnings like before. Like the situation shared by the OP, some persons might not have willingly left money on their balance, but the unavailability of withdrawal or withdrawal not being processed could lead to them being victims.

But to be honest, the number of scam casino now decreased significantly compared before when license is not thing on crypto casino business.

We are gambling without assurance that casino is still available on the next day because they have nothing to lose since they can setup fresh casino without a trace.

Everything hinges on the integrity of the online casino owners. If they choose, they can seize customer's deposits under any pretext, and the user is powerless to stop it, having no real protection. High stakes gambling site Tether.bet has closed down amid scrutiny around its use by George Cottrell, a prominent supporter of outspoken UK politician Nigel Farage.

Why do you specifically write offshore casino like it is very different from a shady closure of any casino? I think we have seen all kinds of cases, from casinos shutting down fast for example to them pretending to be hacked so they steal user deposits. In some cases the casinos were even apparently sold to new owners who tried to scam or do some bad things later. When it comes to user funds we have to make a difference between two cases. First, when the casino is shady and with this I want to cover all cases that could apply. In this case, it does not help so much if the casino is from a region that is much closer or from an offshore regions. The owners or managers of that place will find a way or method to steal some deposits. Second, when the casino is honest. Sadly we see this case rarely and even more if things are difficult for the casino. If the operators of the casino are truly honest then even if they have to shut it down they will provide good and easy to use options for users to withdraw their funds and even give them plenty of time to do that.

Lastly we always have to mention personal responsibility of the users. It does not matter where the casino is registered if you practice healthy habits, so you only have a small playing balance in the casino at all times. If something goes wrong then you won't be hurt by it. But sadly people don't practice this as much as they should..

That’s why I’d always check the operator’s reputation and withdrawal history first, since getting funds back after a shutdown can be a nightmare. Power.Win is another one I’d compare before picking a site.

The casino's name, Tether.bet, caught my attention, and I thought it was related to Tether and USDT. But after a little research it turned out that Tether has no connection to the casino. In my opinion, this is the first red flag because it is an illegal exploitation of the company's name, in addition to other legal problems.

It is true that the casino is licensed, but I am afraid that not all users will be able to withdraw their balances because the site has closed, and any user who has a balance or assets remaining in their account must send a withdrawal request to the email address or dedicated support provided by the company on the closure interface, and it may take a long time and may ultimately fail.
