Cash flow problems would lead to business insolvency and losses, and eventually business closure. So as much as possible, the business in-charge would trace those problems and combat them, otherwise the business won't be able to gain profits or even recover the capital itself due to inevitable cash flow problems.
This is also the reason why any business should also have back-up funds or let's say emergency funds so that if there are cash flow problems that remain unsolved, the business can still keep moving forward by using those back-up funds. However, its really a must to solve that problem, the earlier, the better.
Agree, even profitable company can be stop operated if they catch cash flow shortage. Because i start business with small capital and its was very challenging. To avoid cashflow shortage actually i make forecast, so i can decide how many job order i can take and how much operating cash and its buffer. I make project cashflow and its financing for 15 weeks, id i found critical liquidity signal i will limiting the work I accept.
When i found signal of cashflow shortage the first thing i do check my account receivable and striving to accelerate cash inflows by carrying out collections to customer. On the other hand. i asked credit facility request to some of our vendor and supplier, so we can pay after receive payment form our buyer.
For growing business, many people think loose mean fanger and profit meaning company secured. In fact, that is not always the case, when profit combined with fast growing anf negative cash flow are more dangerous, when business growing fast than the operating capital. So as businessman we should have skill for time management, good timing can bring strategic advantages to us.
