Hi all,

I am opening this thread to draw attention to an unresolved issue with EXMO exchange regarding a frozen withdrawal of 2,016.96 USDC.

**Case Details:**
- **Platform:** EXMO
- **Ticket ID:** 264497
- **Withdrawal ID:** 12453296
- **Date:** August 9, 2026
- **Asset / Network:** 2,016.96 USDC (ERC-20)
- **Account Email:**

**Issue Description:**
On August 9, 2026, I initiated a withdrawal of 2,016.96 USDC. The system rejected the transaction, but the funds were NOT returned to my account balance and have not been delivered to the target address.

I contacted support (Ticket #264497). On August 21, 2026, support agent Artur responded that the issue was sent to the Financial Department for verification. Since then, there has been NO progress, NO response, and NO status update for a week.

Given EXMO's pending shutdown/asset withdrawal phase, delaying funds for weeks without explanation is unacceptable.

I urge EXMO representatives to resolve Ticket #264497 immediately and either execute the withdrawal or credit the 2,016.96 USDC back to my account balance.

I will update this thread as soon as there is any progress or response from the EXMO team.

Are you talking about Exmo.com? Probably it was centralised exchanges, seems you requested withdrawal 9 August but they have given notice about closing their service 14th July. Haven’t you noticed?

EXMO.com is closing
EXMO.com has taken the decision to commence an orderly wind-down and closure of the EXMO.com platform following the imposition of UK financial sanctions affecting legal entities within the EXMO.com group. We believe that sanctions are unjustified, but we continue cooperation with the relevant authorities.

When I open this site, the first notice is about the shutdown of their services. I have tried to find if there is any announcement thread of EXMO but found only a few allegations against it. Not sure how you have found them and chosen to use them when we have more reputable exchanges around.

However, since they are in the shutdown phase, it would take some time to withdraw funds. If they are legit, they will definitely return your funds. Try to keep contact with the support team and write on their social media as well. For now I can’t see much more alternative.

I don't know if you simply decided to use the first exchange you found or not, but it seems like you didn't do any research before using that exchange. In this forum they don't have a good reputation, as you can see from their representative's profile:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=409494

The exchange representative even abandoned the Ann thread years ago: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1084193.0

When I read what you posted:

**Issue Description:**
On August 9, 2026, I initiated a withdrawal of 2,016.96 USDC. The system rejected the transaction, but the funds were NOT returned to my account balance and have not been delivered to the target address.

I contacted support (Ticket #264497). On August 21, 2026, support agent Artur responded that the issue was sent to the Financial Department for verification. Since then, there has been NO progress, NO response, and NO status update for a week.

You know they're shutting down the exchange and telling their clients to withdraw everything they have, and I believe you know why they're closing it. If you don't, then I hope you'll take the time to read the reason here:

https://exmo.com/blog/en/notifications/exmo-com-is-closing-please-initiate-withdrawal-from-your-account

So you make a withdrawal on August 9th and see the system reject it and the money doesn't appear in your account. You spend days just watching, not bothering to contact support immediately, even though the exchange is closing down. It's a serious matter, but you waited until August 21st to report this problem to support. In other words, you only contacted support 12 days later. How can someone who knows they're facing an announcement of a company closing, and who was warned to withdraw their funds, act so carelessly?

Honestly, I can't understand your stance. I really hope I'm misunderstanding everything, because it simply doesn't make any sense. Obviously, those guys at exmo.com, after having problems with UK regulators, will be in a hurry to disappear, and obviously the support staff will too, so it will be slower to resolve anyone's problem. You can see that there are more people with the same problems:

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/exmo.com

I highly doubt that this process of closing the exchange and withdrawing people's money will go smoothly. Unfortunately, stealing money from other people has become common in the cryptocurrency market, so even some exchange owners haven't been acting honestly.

It's now a defunct exchange as far as I know. Even id theere were representatives in this forum, they are probably long gone (not been online for months or years) so the only positive about your accusation is probabaly awareness about the service.

Also avoid posting your email address in public forums. You are most likely going to be targetted by scammers who may send you phishing links or try to access your log in credentials to other various platforms.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I was aware of their closure announcement from July 14th, which is precisely why I initiated the withdrawal on August 9th—well within the allowed timeframe for users to retrieve their assets before final operations cease.

The issue isn't just a delay; it's that the system rejected the transaction (ID 12453296), yet the 2,016.96 USDC was NOT credited back to my account balance, nor sent to the destination address. It basically disappeared from the balance into a "frozen" state.

Support promised a resolution via Financial Department back on August 21st, but has gone completely silent since. Since their social media channels have comments disabled, public forums like Bitcointalk and support tickets are the only transparent channels left to push for my funds.

Thank you for looking into this, but there is a misunderstanding regarding my timeline.

I did NOT wait 12 days to contact support. I submitted Ticket #264497 immediately on August 9th right after the withdrawal was rejected.

August 21st was simply the date when the support agent (Artur) last replied to me, stating that the issue was transferred to the Financial Department. Since August 21st, they have gone completely silent despite multiple follow-ups from my side.

I have been using EXMO for years without major issues, which is why I was conducting my regular balance drain prior to their final closure. However, having funds completely vanish during a system-rejected transaction with zero support updates for over a week is why I was forced to bring this publicly to Bitcointalk.

Thanks for the heads-up and the security advice!

I have edited my main post to remove my full email address to prevent phishing attempts.

I understand EXMO's official representatives might no longer be active here, but keeping this case public serves as a warning to others and records their handling of remaining user funds during their shutdown.

I think you should gather some screenshots here, given that they are in the process of shutting down. If they disappear completely, you’ll still have something to prove your case say, to the authorities should it turn out to be a scam.

I’ve seen another complaint on X stating that they are also refusing to complete the KYC process.

To me this Centralized exchange sounds very different to me and people over here rarely mention it and even talks about it here. Although if the op created his or her account before they shutdown he could have gotten notified on their mails before going ahead to make deposit on the exchange. Considering the date of their closure, it is about months plus so why he didn't get the messages or notification before using the exchange? At this point, the exchange are not to be blame.

Wow!
I just clicked the profile dropped by @Slow death and I noticed they have been here since 2015, this is roughly 11 years now, and last active was September 08, 2022, 08:47:08 AM I believe the chance of op getting his funds back is extremely slime if you ask me.

They also displayed some red flags, and JollGood even sent them negative feedback

JollyGood    2020-02-07    Reference    BEWARE: Do not trust Exmo EXCHANGE

Exmo have been involved with the Minexcoin scam and its scammer owner/operator Boris Shulyaev and have also been involved with Republia/Paxchain/Grida which is the next scam operated by the Minexcoin team
Something to do with some shitcoin scam.

I don't think many members in this forum even considered using them with other much better exchanges with good reputations out there
