Nepal Police report 469 people have been dead from the devastating flood, while 977 people are still missing. I guess many people missing in a flood would probably have been dead also.

It was not caused by a downpour. Scientists said global warming will be the reason because it was a heavy permafrost of about 200,000 m² or 2.15 million square feet that fell into a Lhende Khola (Lende River) that caused it.

No evidence that it was true that global warning caused it, but the big permafrost or glacier that fell into Lende River caused it.

Down concern about the floods that occurred in Nepal, I saw on social media seconds seconds the landslide hit residential areas.

According to experts this is indeed due to the collapse of part of the glacier downwards causing massive flooding, some reports exist of earthquakes but it is denied because the tremors were from shifting glaciers.

I just read in this article, there is no definite conclusion because the police and the government are now more focused on handling victims first.

I have been watching these videos on social media for quite some time, the videos were very tragic. An area was being destroyed in just a few seconds, people were not getting a chance to escape. Various structures were being destroyed. Especially many people were killed, many are still missing.

I was looking at some pictures of bodies, one body was half torn off, entangled in trees or hanging from the roof of a house. It was buried in the ground, while fleeing, water suddenly came and swept it away. I am very saddened to see the incident.

As far as I know, the incident started from a part of a huge glacier. The part of the glacier created a barrier in the river, as a result of which the water level increased and the dam broke, causing a major flood. The soil, rocks and ice mixed with the water, making it more destructive. There are doubts about the authenticity of this information, scientists are still researching and trying to find the origin of this devastation.

It's terrible. And worst thing about such disasters that's impossible  to avoid it or make consequences of it not so painful. Human sometimes is just powerless against mother nature...

I watched a video of the original breach taken from high up and could see dozens of tiny dots running to vehicles and getting swamped by water.  Terrifying and horrible!

What are we not discussing?   The cause of the tragedy?   The root cause is climate change - even if people only see an avalanche.

I genuinely hate to discuss a death toll. The video I watched yesterday concerning the avalanche that happened in Nepal is still affecting my mental health.

The worst part is that people in that environment are struggling to survive in the economic situation. Now death has taken some loved ones, businesses, houses, and relationships that took them years to build have been destroyed in one day.

Nature has no respect for humans. It happens without control, and sometimes we are part of it.

In recent times what I saw in Nepal is one of the things that has touched me greatly, at least there would have been some warning from the government concerning this sort of flash flood, I saw devastating videos where people were stranded in the cause of struggling to get out of the flooded Waters. At this moment the world needs to come to the rescue of Nepal because the devastation is too much on the economy. You could literally see the dead bodies on the waters as if it's something else.

It is so devastating and I couldn't keep to myself watching this alone the way people are dying without any help, this was a sudden and unexpected flooding that claimed lives beyond the numbers we are hearing from the media, this is one of the disadvantages of living closer to where there is dam and in this case, it was not predicted and I don't think the so it's coming before the experience the outbreak.

When I saw the news it was very devastating, so many people have lost their life’s, humans and properties have been lost, the death toll would definitely be increasing, from what I have seen on the internet I don’t think people missing are alive anymore, I saw a video where body parts are all over the place, and floating on water here and there it’s a very devastating thing to happen, people are dying carelessly like nothing, this is a very devastating natural disaster, I don’t know if I would say it’s natural, I  haven’t heard about the cause of this devastating tragic disaster, there are people who will never meet their family members and friends.

I have seen horrific videos of flood on social media and it is very sad to see  damage that it has done. It is true that it might be possible that glacier collapse might be immediate trigger for devastating flood. Similarly, global warming and climatic changes also a contributing factors that made glaciers and The Frozen ground very unstable and they have started melting. But we cannot directly say that global warming is reason for this particular disaster. The death toll is increasingly every minute the number of people missing is making the death toll uncertain. Disasters like these have shown why the early warning system is very important; the government is responsible for the evacuation plan, and there should be better monitoring of the glaciers and the mountains and the global changes so that in future these types of incidents can be avoided.

Nature should at least have some respect for human beings, there are many disasters that human beings are not supposed to witness or experienced like this uncontrollably flood, earthquakes, and war, i know that some of these are natural disasters but there should at least be a way that it can be reduced so that the effect on humans won't be much, the case of Nepal is a very disheartening news it's a great tragedy to them and it's going to take them years to get back to how they use to be before. Nepal needs all the help they can get. Maybe creating awareness here could bring some kind of assistance to them since many people visit this forum. I hope different countries and international organisations support this nation in this perilous time.

The death toll will keep increasing because I believe many people have been buried in mud and under collapsed buildings. Some of the videos look like movie scenes; it's hard to imagine the speed and power of the floodwater. The area is still at risk of a second disaster, so people need to be evacuated as soon as possible.

This natural disaster that happened in Nepal has left Nepal completely weak, most of the dead and missing here were tourists. However, I am really saddened by this incident, because the water in the river has entered the plain with such a height and speed that it has blown away even the buildings. It has completely destroyed the environment of Nepal, causing extensive damage and the law and order forces of the country are rescuing the trapped people.
However, I have seen some videos where people's bodies have been dismembered, watching all these videos I could not control myself. I have to say with sadness that this terrible natural disaster in Nepal has caused immense damage to the country.

I think the police are right, for now the main focus should be helping lost victims, assisting those who were displaced and search for those who aren't yet found at the moment.
Of course the flash flood is scary and it is something we hope not to see again but at the moment the people of nepal have a lot to do because this is a very critical situation for the people of nepal.
After they have at least done so much to seeing a bit of calm in the country then they can seriously focus on investigating the true cause of the flash flood and how they can avoid future occurrence.
